  1. Same points, they’ve played one less game
  2. Cozens basically said as much, which was refreshing to hear
  3. Nm I’m guessing “shoot the puck”
  4. Peterka - McDavid - Quinn Skinner - Thompson - Tuch Greenway - Mittelstadt - Benson Girgensons - Krebs - Okposo ..unstoppable Johnson - Dahlin Samuelsson - Jokiharju Clifton - Johnson ..still good 6k ..still 6k’ing - - - Obviously won’t happen but it’s fun to think about
  5. Power Cozens Levi for Draisaitl? No for McDavid? That’s an absolute yes from me He’s the best player in the world by far, we’d actually be surrounding him with depth, and all it takes to upgrade from Cozens, a second liner, to maybe the best player of all time is a guy who’s currently playing like a back up and a guy who’s currently playing like a second paid D man. Power would hurt the most given his LT potential, and specifically his floor potential, but a deal for McDavid (if he wants to be here, shout-out to my man Adams) would have us contending for the cup this season
  6. I think what I’m getting as is that the fancy stats seem to do a good job reflecting things on a more simple, basic, pass/fail, yes/no basis ie the stats telling me that Thompson is playing good defensively does in fact jive. I think where they run into trouble is when they start getting into the nitty gritty of their rankings, when it’s time to separate the 95% rotten tomatoes score of Citizen Kane from the 95% of Thor Ragnarok. I think their failings are most exposed when they get into more definitive “statements” of who is better than who and the numbers that get pulled in defence of those stances. Is Zegras a top defensive player now? As recently as last year he was very poor on this front - I obviously believe he has improved but again, when players are bouncing around the extremes year to year I think that speaks to where the data is limited, but not critically flawed i could also just be wrong, and Tage is truly the best defensive player in the game, along with…Sam Reinhart
  7. Basically, “That escalated quickly.” - - - Though I’m not sure the video answers the “why” and is yet another poor tweet from Joe. Broken nose?
  8. I’m entering into the “it’s complicated” stage within my marriage to fancy stats
  9. How the heck could the Sabres be worth less than the Jets
  10. He will be 22 when June 30, 2024 rolls around. 23 in June 2025 - - - 24 in June 2026 25 in June 2027 26 in June 2028 ..ok, so he’s got 3 RFA years after his current deal ( - - - ) expires EDIT: no, 4 I guess, like my original post? Cause there’s the year at he starts at 26 that takes him to 27
  11. The nfl coach thing is kind of a wild stat
  12. Screw chicken hat and teach me about Doc’s contract!
  13. @Taro Tis much more proficient in this area than me but I believe we have his rights for another 4 years after his current deal. He will only have 6 years of accrued service after that point but would be 27 and a UFA there’s honestly a 50/50 chance I’m correct here. But I believe July 1 is where we measure players’ ages from
  14. Ya it honestly could be worse, it’s not a glamour shot, but it’s still objectively funny to tattoo your own face on your body no matter how you do it I think PA is right that’s he’s the bro’s bro
  15. Absolutely. But that kid is not it lol. He’s basically Seth Myers He also has a tattoo of himself so we know we’d consider him a tool if he played on any other team
  16. Narrator: They heard from Bryson again We thought he was gonzo last offseason and he was playing again almost immediately. This seems wishful thinking Agree on Krebs, he’s been a non-entity Our homes games are on the road, we should factor that in
  17. Ah ok thanks. Either way, it’ll be this summer he gets a LT contract, or dealt I guess they could do a 1 year deal in arbitration but I highly doubt it comes to that.
  18. He’s an RFA after this season. Need a new deal for next year His first season that burned his contract by 1 didn’t count towards an accrued year of service: so this season makes 6 instead of 7 and UFA.
  19. Yeap. Most of the few (but imo important) things I disagreed with re: Adams offseason were things that went against *my* desired strategy. Oh well. Adams is likely right, anyways, I know diddly. Sitting on our hands re: Quinn and the no-doubt expected improvement he was to provide for this team seemed to me to be in opposition to *KA’s* plan. An internal contradiction, imo Youpi-el
  20. Maybe not let us down, as in not actively bad - that seems to be the only line anyone cares about regarding the goaltending: don’t be awful. If we had average goaltending, average D, average offence, and they played consistently average every single game, we’d be an average team in the middle of the pack, with nothing ever letting us down, and also a .500 record average goaltending is only ok if we don’t need to regress our offence to average to do it otherwise it’s a shell game
