Maybe the turn around starts today. As good a time as any. Go Sabres. -
Marek did say the classic Sabres logo was among the best all time in all of sports and he’s definitely right

I love hockey primarily because I love the Sabres. It’s fun to watch the occasional game but the true passion for the product, the best memories, the reason when it comes down to it that I watch at all.. it all comes back to my rooting interest in the Buffalo Sabres, rather than specifically being enamoured by the game itself. And I’m not from Buffalo. Have never even been, so not a local team thing -
There’s a better embedded version

Just hit play I would highly recommend watching and listening closely from :20 to 1:00

Even a handful of adjustments (if they are of a seriously legitimate nature) might look like a smorgasbord, relative to what we’ve seen from KA, should you be correct the moves get made. …Wait, you are going to be at *thirty* games live in person, just this season? …superfan, more like. -

ANY sort of use of the word “bandwagon” should be taboo imo -
What happened to him? A career year is what happened. He’s still really good. It was never more likely than not that he would truly stabilize among the game’s top 10-15 forwards, as his output was reflective of that season. I think we can probably get better than we’ve seen, though. Good news is his contract is fine for what we are seeing I think

And therein lies the rub perhaps the real fandom is the friends we’ve made along the way -

The fact you started a thread in serious contemplation of your own mindset is pretty solid evidence to the idea you do care, though. If that helps -

I’ve almost fully lost interest in the NHL. I internally debate this a lot, but I think we should cut ourselves some grace as fans. It’s probably reflective of the fact it’s not an in-bad-faith take, but rather in reality specifically reflective of the ineptitude of the franchise. I mention this a lot: we haven’t been bad, we’ve been an absurd outlier. After 13 years, if you truly love the crest, how could bearing the miserable burden of, not really the defeat, but the extreme nature of it, the embarrassment of it, for all that time *not* take something out of you?? I just tell myself the passion will come back once the team is good again. Do I believe that? I don’t know. Ask me again some time. It’s admittedly a bit scary but I tell myself it’ll come back. They can’t be bad forever. As Sam says when he sees a solitary star poking through the broil and fume of Mordor, “there’s light up there, that no darkness can touch”. Even this will be a passing thing. Do we get in the playoffs because of some grand scheme, some plan coming to fruition? Honestly? Probably not. But as much as math doesn’t seem like it’s our friend: it is. We will eventually get in purely based on luck. If you ask me… it’ll probably all be ok. -
There’s no one available though, just nothing we could have done. We fans are such a laughable joke. They can’t tell the person paid millions to do the job, how to do it for them? Sure, every other team in the league has figured out their ***** multiple times over since we’ve been wandering the desert, but we can’t get in to judging KA relative to his peers. Nah, stupid fans. Could YOU have built a better team than Adams? The professional? Can YOU score more goals and play better defence than VO??? Just sit down and shut up

Funny thing is… I think we have been. I mentioned a couple years ago we might be willingly on the “Levi timeline” ie I’m not sure what kind of success Adams expects until Levi is ready to be a #1. It’s probably why they made those promises to him or whatever. Adams has already decided to franchise is beholden to him, sort of Eichel-like, so why not If you listen to some, goalies don’t fill the shelves at the Home Depot or whatever, right? So our best option was to trade one of the best forwards in the league for a small prospect goalie (and call it a “fleecing”) and refuse to adequately fill out the rest of the team until said goalie matures it’s a good strategy. Pay no attention to the lack of playoff appearances behind that curtain

I’m the dude playing the dude disguised as the other dude!

One does not simply walk into a trade for Mortiz That’s why I call defencemen “Backs”’

Tickets to see the league’s best team (wut), my hometown Jets throttle the Bedard-less Hawks on Thursday, while my Sabres swim amongst the dregs. Fun
