  1. I mentioned this in regards to the Samuelsson deal, there was almost definitely a strategic element in the way they were dealing out contracts beyond the usual, let’s say “standard” considerations. That deal, the Granato deal, more than objectively bad/good contracts, I think we can at least reasonably all agree they were given strictly before necessary. It’s so apparent, I can only conclude that’s a feature and not a bug. There was some sort of messaging going on with “rewarding” people, it went beyond deserved/earned. Right? And, again, it wasn’t an attempt to capitalize on value, attain some sort of steal: they literally could have waited and not paid more and they knew it. they wanted this narrative out there about guys wanting to be here. Length of deals proved it. Culture. I mean, we can reasonably infer this happened, right? I’m not saying it’s good, or bad, but maybe if we can all agree on that.. we can begin the dissect the merits of that sort of strategy - - - if, say, Harrington is right, and he won’t can Granato due to length of deal..I mean I might spot a flaw i dunno tho lol can’t be too sure haha lol
  2. Value of the Sabres has skyrocketed under Pegula’s tenure. To your point, perhaps not as much as it would have had we actually been competent…but regardless..
  3. Goal differential is fine. But when you are ranked 26th overall standings wise and attempt to tout your 22nd place standing in differential: it’s grasping at straws
  4. Tyler Ennis says hi Last Great Sabres Goal
  5. That rebound stunk but UPL has been good so whatever
  6. Same bat time same bat channel we’ll get back at it later
  7. So not nearly good enough
  8. You are making my point; it’s not about the player, it’s about the time frame. It’s about the build we do not need this guy at this time we don’t need good prospects right now
  9. Plus, guess what, last I checked, PLAYERS ALSO PLAY DEFENCE AT 5 V 5! How’s our goal differential?
  10. They hit 4 posts this period and we have a PP now or never
  11. Still not a noun
  12. This is absurd, im sorry imagine thinking after all this time it can still be drastically over-simplified as one variable
  13. Considering how particularly strong our performance was last year in the portion of the season coming AFTER teams might have already concluded us to be a mediocre team (it was in March after falling well out of the race), I think what you propose is very possible. I think these guys can be what we saw but it’s a chess game and it’s a dance: other teams took action against us and we didn’t do anything this offseason. We had no counter for what was always coming
  14. Compete isn’t even a real noun I doubt it’s a real answer to our problems
  15. I generally think what seemingly manifests visually as “lack of effort” is a result of being acted upon by another team
  16. Players being indecisive when faced with a responsible challenge from an opposing player is reflective of talent. It’s reflective of hockey sense
  17. I think a lot of people, including Kevyn this past summer, overestimate our actual roster
  18. I’m more concerned with the Time variable than the size variable. it’s way stronger
  19. UPL looks sharp
  20. Robert Thomas of matchbox 20 fame
  21. Oh that goes without saying
