  1. All-star Zemgus Girgensons put some ‘spect on it
  2. This I agree with mostly. They need several significant changes/additions/upgrades: but at least we are in the spot where THAT is what we need. The GM needs to actually do it, but at least it’s reasonably possible from our standing. To start a reset would be a huge mistake. Even if we brought in a new GM, which id be fine with, he’d have to be a quick turnaround guy to a certainty. These guys are aplenty: and they aren’t all Tim Murray. Most vet GMs operate in the real NHL ie they don’t believe in the absurdity of 5 year, job security prioritized plans. A guy could come in and say, thanks for the prospect pool, and make the necessary tweaks KA apparently refuses to. Or KA could just do it
  3. Or, just pay everyone professional, long term cash to play a professional game, all in the name of providing an entertainment product, and let them…..learn *how* to be professionals *AFTER* the fact, haha. The Sabres have lost the plot, and some fans are reading an entirely different book along with them. Taking 5 years to *learn to play* isn’t absurd, it’s nearly insane lol. It’s a ridiculous, Sabres-invented concept. The “5 year plan” was about taking a slow approach SPECIFICALLY so that we’d be perennial cup contenders by year 5. *the entire point of that strategy is to purposely take a longer path, because “just making the playoffs” isn’t enough* the strategy was NEVER to take 5 years just to do something almost all teams, historically, do much quicker, year over year. It was never about taking 5 years to make the playoffs. that sort of plan is DOA ”trust the process, patience, young team…and if you do so, you’ll be rewarded with playoffs in 2024 or 2025” is *already* a failed strategy. That’s what some miss: the expectation of playoffs, bare minimum, was *inclusive, already* of us having all these caveats people point to. Youth, process, etc. The plan failed. It failed both relative to other teams, and even more importantly: intrinsically. Its literal strengths collapsed upon themselves. It now needs to be re-written.
  4. I moved into the condo I’m currently living in in March of 2012. Miss 1 of the Drought followed, that spring. 12 years I’ve been here. Not one appearance. Not since I lived at home. I move out this coming April. We make the playoffs in 23-24. I’m absolutely sure of it.
  5. Damn even AI is scoring “likes” off this team, now He’s over half-way to 2000 games. It’ll be a while No, we’re bread. Toast is a process. Gotta give it time.
  6. ̶R̶e̶b̶e̶l̶l̶i̶o̶n̶s̶ ̶ Rebuilds are built on hope. And there never was much hope… ..just a fool’s hope.
  7. The long term fan price be dammed, notwithstanding, and still to be determined, the tank teams were pretty likeable to me because they lived up to the expectations we/I had for them. They weren’t close to being the most unlikeable - in fact, some of the players, cast in the role of underdog were the opposite: exceptionally likeable. They weren’t the dudes trying to lose. Think Cory Conacher wearing Scott’s helmet. A late D’Agostini goal to beat..I think the Leafs? I actually kind of liked those teams. Of course, it’s entirely subjective: but the best way I can lay it out is that in my personal, heart of hearts, each year the drought has gone on I’ve liked the team a little bit less. I think the tipping point is zero recognition for the urgency the fan base feels. I don’t care if they don’t want to feel it. Do they want to be Buffalo Sabres or not? That’s who we are. Embrace it and change it. Find success in tune with the fanbase. You know why that’s exceptionally fair? Because we are barely asking for anything lmao We are asking for a playoff spot in a league half the teams (for most of the drought, MORE than half the teams) make it. Lol. Actual lol. This point can be made in perpetuity cause it’s a farce that we haven’t scratched a single berth in 13 years. ”Nah…..that’s too good for the Buffalo Sabres. This is about sustainable success - building a cup contender.” lmao! get bent. Find success ONCE, I beg you, before you aim for a dynasty. We have something worse than bad ownership and management: We are operated by fools.
  8. Too many nicknames for them to remember
  9. As someone who’s definitively ocd, I’ve already started compulsively thinking about the looming offseason was hoping the last minute rescuing of victory from the jaws of defeat vs Minnesota might provide a sort of last-ditch spark, but..alas.
  10. It took me a couple seconds to even figure out what you were talking about hahah
  11. Absolutely. Me too lol
  12. Beatings will continue until morale improves. Each season ticket holder upon season’s end gets to present one chosen member from the organization with one of those pens that slightly shocks you when you click it
  13. I was under the impression our new screening process only allowed for guys who WANT to be here Honestly just feels weird without the eye-roll. Hit me up with one for old time’s sake
  14. The post win tradition could be Kyle Okposo walking out to centre ice, sucking a balloon dry of its helium and singing Volare: it’s not the validity of the ceremony itself that represents the changed variable, here. You seem unwilling (not unable) to grasp that what people are taking issue with is the *reason* for the change. I truly don’t understand how you wouldn’t understand that *intent* matters. It matters personally, it matters in a court of law, it always matters: context is always key. You, nor anyone, was arguing previously for the removal of the salute, nor advocating for its worth. But people are reacting to the *reasons why* the players decided to change it. That’s the new information. What you are merely doing is being willingly obtuse. “Who cares?” It’s enough to say “people care”. The issue here isn’t that you have to care too: it’s that you are refusing to acknowledge others’ contention isn’t about the tradition itself and its worth in a vacuum. It’s the worst form of debate, where one party won’t even acknowledge the reality of the other side: it’s gaslighting. You gaslight a lot
  15. Easy Thankfully the colors of the crest trump
  16. Excellent post All timer
  17. Then play for the f*cking millions of dollars ???? you sir have definitively lost the plot Like you are on an entirely different book
  18. Maybe the 5th time explaining it, lucky
  19. Sometimes I think he willingly ignores the posts responding to him, I don’t really get it Their record does a lot of talking
  20. It’s rather a skill to miss the point THAT clearly lol
  21. You mean his “you don’t need to earn anything because we don’t block spots” mantra? It was probably Adams idea lol
  22. Yikes lol. This group is hard to like sometimes. Oh well. They’re temporary. Your last paragraph is exactly it. He isn’t going to be a Sabre shortly. We will be.
  23. That’s a good observation he’s like a Remora. Feeds off the rebounds created from the bigger shark
