GDT: 3/3/20 Buffalo Sabres vs. Winnipeg Jets 8 pm

Boolow played 25 minutes a game the last 2 games with Morrissey out! There's a lot of people around here that are calling for the coach's head but if you ask me with our D corps and one point out of the playoffs, he should be getting the Jack Adams award. -

I would take him as our second Center any day. An excellent two- way Center man that will get you 45-55 points. -

A game between two teams that probably won't make the playoffs but whose fans still have hope... Laine should be back in for the game but Niku, Lowry, Perreault and Little (gone for season) still not playing. I've been told that Morrissey will be paired with DeMelo for tonight's game so Morrissey is back. Also out with injuries are Bitetto, Dahlstrom and Letestu. These players not being dressed is probably a good thing for the Jets though. We lead the league in man games lost so far this year and that isn't counting Byfuglien. Good luck!!!!!! -
Trade: Erod and Sheary traded to Pittsburgh for C/LW Dominik Kahun

While performance bonuses count against the salary cap, teams are permitted to exceed the salary cap due to performance bonuses, to a maximum of 7.5% of the Salary Cap. If a team exceeds the Salary Cap due to performance bonuses, then any amount over the Salary Cap is considered a Bonus Carryover, and counts against the cap in the next season. "A" level performance bonuses are paid by the team (not the league) and an ELC can contain any number of individual "A" level performance bonuses. Each individual "A" level bonus can pay out a maximum of $212,500 and combine for a maximum of $850,000. So four maxed out "A" level performance bonuses. Forwards... -Top 6 in TOI on team (min. 42 games)*-20 goals (min.)**-35 assists (min.)**-60 points (min.)**-0.73 points per game (min. 42 games)-Top 3 forwards in +/- on team (min. 42 games)-Makes end of season All-Star Rookie Team-Selected or play in NHL All-Star Game-NHL All-Star Game MVP Defense -Top 4 in TOI for defenders on team (min. 42 games)*-10 goals (min.)**-25 assists (min.)**-40 point (min.)**-0.49 points per game (min. 42 games)-Top 3 defenders in +/- on team (min. 42 games)-Top 2 defenders in blocked shots on team (min. 42 games)-Makes end of season All-Star Rookie Team-Selected or play in NHL All-Star Game-NHL All-Star Game MVP Goalies -1,800 minutes played (min.)** -GAA<median GAA for all goalies*** -SV%>median SV% for all goalies*** -20 wins -Shutouts>median shutouts for all goalies*** -Makes end of season All-Star Rookie Team -Selected or play in NHL All-Star Game -NHL All-Star Game MVP Any player on an ELC is eligible for a "B" level bonus. These are paid by the league. That means Simon Holmstrom could receive performance bonuses. Some "B" level bonuses (winning the Hart, Richard, Vezina, Jennings, Norris, Conn Smythe, or Selke) can be negotiated with the team. Level "B" bonuses are paid based on the CBA. It sets out how much can be paid per bonus. A "B" level bonus is paid for one of the following: Winning a select trophy or award: Hart, Norris, Vezina, Selke, Richard, Lady Byng, Jennings, or Calder Named to the first or second All-Star Team (end of season All-Star team) Forwards: top 10 in goals, assists, points, points per game for forwards Defensemen: top 10 in goals, assists, points, points per game for defensemen Goalies: top five in GAA (25 game min.), SV% (25 game min.), wins (30 game min.) -

Kahun is the best of the three and I think this is a solid move. -
Not for me it isn't. MAF hasn't been playing that well and Lehner is instantly their best goalie. Are the Hawks hoping to sign him this summer?

Constructive Ideas: Playoff Contender to Cup Contender
Ducky replied to Marvin's topic in The Aud Club
I think one of the most important things to do is get rid of Okposo's contract and maybe one other one. This opens up cap space to bring more talented players on the team. Eichel and Dahin are or are going to be elite players at their respective positions. Cozens will be very good. They need talent to play with and 6m for Okposo is ridiculous. Do what it takes to get rid of him and do it. Not 2020's 1st though. If I could trade Skinner, I would. Even if I had to eat 1.5m of his contract. I doubt JBot deals him seeing as he just re-signed him though. -
The Jets have had to play this year with 7.6m less on their cap than other teams because of the Buff situation. Sbisa, Bitetto, and now Niku are all staring D men for us this year and we are a couple of points out of the playoffs and people want Maurice's head...he should get coach of the year for what he has done this year. It is hard to believe I am anxiously awaiting Boolow coming back from injury because he is better than 2 or 3 D men we have playing regularly...Kulikov is our best D man after Morrissey and Pionk this year and he is a 3rd pairing guy. How does Chevy negotiate a settlement where he gives Buff money and sets him free? For nothing in return? Why should he get money? He is suspended for not showing up. Poor deal if you ask me. Lose Buff for nothing but capspace. Love the capspace but this is a sour deal for the Jets. If someone picks him up for a playoff run and he is in shape, watch out. At least the situation is close to over and Chevy will have some cash to play with and see if he can pick up a D man and hopefully a RHD. Buff, Trouba, Myers and Chiarot all gone from last year's D corps replaced with Sbisa and Dahlstrom via waiver wire and Bitetto but let's fire the coach...

True but the top 5 teams in the Pacific have the following points... 58 57 57 57 57

Bogo, Kane and Burmistrov were all rushed into the NHL when they should have done a stint in the AHL. Atlanta was not the definition patience. It took Chevy over 4 seasons to clean up the mess we inherited from the Thrashers. Give Bots another year to see what he can do with some contracts ending and maybe getting rid of one or two more?

A friend of mine from Kentucky that moved to the Yukon via Winnipeg has invited me moose hunting for the 2021 fall season. He said all I have to bring is my clothes and gun. He has his Canadian citizenship and is allowed to do this once in a lifetime as a Canadian citizen of the Yukon and I feel honored that he asked me. This is a trip I didn't ever think I could afford but seeing as he is actuallly my guide, the cost will be minimal. I have enough VISA point that the taxes are under $150.00 for the flight. The biggest expense will getting the de-boned meat home. He got a moose on the 2nd day last fall that measured 49 inches and the year before on the first morning he got a 58 incher! We'll be floating a river in a 14 foot jon boat. The only concern I have is grizzlies but I'm going for it.

He already has. He supposedly got a phone call.

https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/jets-perreault-mad-canucks-virtanen-no-suspension Perreault was not too happy. I don't blame him. He has the record for 4 players suspended for infractions against him and this one shouldhave been the 5th. “I got to take matters in my own hand next time this happens and I get to swing my stick across his forehead, and I shouldn’t get suspended then,” added Perreault.

I hate the Preds so I am glad for the turmoil but neither of the goalies are above a .900 sv%. Rinne is over the hill and Saros hasn't shown to be a capable #1 goalie yet. Bad goalies=bad coaches.

He is the one the Canadians tried to not have as a ref for the last game...game 8. I thihnk the other was a Czech.
-
The same blind ref missed a stick to the face to Ehlers and a hit from behind on Morrissey in the final 5 minutes or so of the Jets/Minny game yesterday. Then, he gave Wheeler a penalty in OT and Minny scored. That ref is almost comical and it makes you wonder how he got hired. He reminds me of some of the refs from the 1972 summit series.

Mittlestadt was probably brought up a season too early but look at the players drafted after him. Not too many that have done much. I wouldn't give up on him yet.
-
Am I missing something here? Why should the Isles be retiring Westfall's number?
-
Goring is a Winnipeg native...good on him!!! That Kovalchuk contract is on the cap for another season after thisone. That is 6.25m for a player not even on your roster. When Jets' fans complain about some of the contracts on the team I look around the league and there are some absoultely terrible deals signed. Ladd is making 5.5m on the cap and only 1m for a base salary with the rest signing bonuses. He's playing in the AHL. Some GMs can't help themselves.
-
He'll bring back a 1st and at least a B prospect at the TD. If they trade him now, it will be more. I can see him playing for the Isles after this season...maybe Nashville? Hey, maybe Dubas gives him deal for 11m x 8 years?
-
Kane probably gets 3 games but deserves a butt end to the teeth. My opinion anyway...
-
Great game guys, I love seeing the Leafs lose. Over pay your players and trade your top draft picks so someone takes a player you overpaid...great plan for continued success.

He had the surgery...on his own...told the team he was having it but that's all the team had to do with it from what I've heard.
