I think a very under rated Dman is Alex Pietrangelo of the Blues. Does everything well and I think he was in the top 5 for Dman scoring. I take him over Karlsson because he plays some D also.

IMO though, he played with Des and Moulson most of the year, not exactly a couple of teammates that would enhance any of his stats. I will say again that if we keep him I'm ok with it but if they prefer to move on, I'm ok with that too. If he does it won't be at his old contract level, I agree

Personally I liked Legwand on the pk but I don't see he or Schaller as a big loss. Depending on what wingers they bring in the offseason, they can always have a competition between Larsson and Girgensons for the 3rd line C spot and move the loser to the 4th line. Both guys are dependable on the defensive side. I really think this offseason is very important because I think it won't be as easy as we may think to take the next step up. Watching these playoff series especially the Chicago-St. Louis, Florida-Islander, and the Capitols, much less the West we still have a long way to go before we can legitimately compete with these teams especially in terms of speed.

I've been staying away from this topic because I haven't watched the last episode until last night. Great show, great discussion. Jimmy's a good guy who can't keep right, Chuck is basically a good guy who's a vindictive pr!ck to Jimmy. There was a point where Chuck could have rehabilitated Jimmy with some mentoring but he betrayed his brother because of jealousy. Which then pushed Jimmy back into his old ways. Kim is torn because at heart she knows she worked from the bottom up to get where she's at and she feels allegiance to Jimmy because he appears to have done the same thing. Torn as to how this will eventually go bad. Mike is a bad MFr but he's put his D-inlaw and granddaughter in harms way because the truck driver seen his car. Which will eventually lead Mike to be the chickenman's #2..... The show is a great follow up to BB. Probably the best sequel/prequel tv series since Cheers/Frasier.

HOPE returns, the end of the tank, being happy when we win again and disappointed when we lose Favorite Jack moment was when I was at the Dallas game and he raced in and apparently ran out of room but made a 90 degree turn, took on 2 Stars defenders and crashed the net. The speed, skating and strength it took to make that play was breathtaking and even the Stars fans looked at us Sabre Fans with a WTF was that look. Meeting Robin Egg and his son at the game. The post game fight in Arizona and the realization that Jack and Samson weren't going to be star rivals on this team but were actually friends as they walked into the locker room. These two budding stars like playing with each other. The late Christmas present where we scored 5 straight goals against and at the hated Bruins. Jack's first 4 point game. Seeing the world famous Alcatraz, The Alamo and Bogo's Bunker. Getting spoiled by WildCard's GDTs Reinhart, Risto, McCabe's development. Kane's pass to Samson for the hat trick in Winnipeg, the day officially became a Sabre. Johnson becoming a competent GK. They are fun to watch again.

I think we all are a bit surly with wanting to get back into the playoff picture but the facts are we were 44 points out of a playoff spot last year, we are now 13 points out, we were a minus 113 in the GF vs GA last year, we presently are a minus 22. That's a 31 point improvement in the standings and a 91 goal differential improvement. I'm having a very hard time ripping the management team and coach for that and at the very least the games are much more entertaining this year plus it's also in a weird way nice to listen to all the biotching when we lose again. Last year was horrific, I don't want to live thru that again and I at least am very optimistic that we are on a steep incline in getting even better very soon. My investment portfolio should be doing this well
