At this stage of our rebuild, I just want the best prospect. If we can pick up another Risto at #8 or a better Nylander, I am all in. Name and position are meaningless, I think we need to best hockey player, we can figure out position and needs later. This is probably/hopefully the last time we pick in the top 10 for a long time. Skill and speed are prerequisites in my opinion. The nice thing about the foreign boys though is that we can start them in Rochester if they aren't ready for the immediate jump to the NHL instead of sending them back to Junioirs. This way if they become ready half way thru the season we can bring them to the big club faster. There is always a surprise pick in the top 10 so everything we hear from the media thru opinion or interviews is all BS with the possible exception of the Leafs and Jets.

I agree with you but we're not the only team looking for Dmen. I can't imagine Edmonton not being able to outbid us for any of them. Especially with them being willing to blow it up this offseason.

Unlike some other teams, the Ducks are not yet in cap hell, so I don't see them giving up any of those 3 guys without getting a boatload in return. I don't see us having enough without dangling that 1st round pick and I don't see GMTM giving it up. Someone in the top 10 is going to be hard to give up especially with the draft in Buffalo this year.

Fowler is presently #1 on the Ducks in TOI, so I don't think we have a big enough package to pry him out of Anaheim. Vantanen and Lindholm are #2 and #3 so I don't see anything coming out of Anaheim. In their shoes, I wouldn't get rid of any of them either. To me the UFA market has Goligoski and Yandle available, neither will be cheap and both would be upgrades as a QB on our 2nd line PP team and on our 1st line but both are or will be 30 shortly. I'd like to see this years development on both Pysyk and McCabe before I downgrade them and Bogo doesn't deserve a bunker. I'm not as down on our D as some are because my opinion is our young forwards were more the fault for some of our defensive woes than the Dmen were although there's no denying an upgrade in speed would be most welcome and not just in skating but getting the puck out of our zone quicker.

What were your issues with the Roku?? Some things were better once MLB took over (picture quality for one) but I wished they showed the pre and post game shows instead of cutting it off 30 seconds after the game ends and as someone mentioned above about not being able to scroll forward and backward to a specific spot instead of having to guess where your stopping and starting again.

Great playoffs so far, Islander-Florida series was fun to watch, the game 7 of St.Louis and the Blackhawks was must see tv, Nashville-Ducks series going to 7, Dallas-Blues series and the Penguins-Caps series should be awesome also. My wife is looking at me like "hockey again???". I'm going to have to start using the upstairs tv more often.

After reading one of your earlier posts about watching your calorie intake and that wall went down with a bang. Found out where my problem was and I've now pretty much matched your size almost pound for pound. Also hit my goal of running/power walking for the month with over 109 miles so far. I haven't done that since I was training for the mountain hikes/camping I used to take every year with my son. Good luck to you.

When the best player in hockey makes a spectacular play, I'm not sure anyone could be held solely accountable for stopping it. Just the fact he played 40 minutes is unbelievable to me. He's also one of my unsung favorite players.

Not to disagree with you but baseball is pretty much the same way. Football and basketball are the only sports that mass markets its players. Chances are Crosby, Ovie can walk down the streets of most American cities and nobody would recognize them, Brady, Lebron, Manning, Durant..... not so much
