  1. Can't disagree with the naysayers more, this is a very good signing. Add Vesey and we've added 2 top 6 forwards for less than 7 million and a 3rd round pick. WOW, how can you not be a GMTM fan.
  2. There is no beating HOSS when he's on his game, fastest keyboard in the NE. Okposo is going to be a very good pickup, he's going to surprise a bunch of the naysayers on this board. Kane-ROR-Okposo line is going to be a major chore to play against. Vesey-Eichel-Reinhart That my friends is an big time top 6
  3. Congratulations by the way!!!! Marrying a nice Polish girl. The height of the Polish traditions was in the late 50's and early 60's. Sattlers, Kobackers, Neisners, Kolipinski's Furniture and the Polish Market were mainstays on Broadway. What I remember most about Sattlers as a kid was the giant escalator in it. Mom used to take me on shopping sprees, we would take the NFT to Broadway and when we finished there we would transfer the NFT to downtown. I want to say her favorite store there was Grants but that was so long ago my brain cells may not be functioning properly Favorite Polish jokes (I am Polish on both mother and fathers side by the way) Circa 1975 A mexican, italian and Polack were working on the top floor of a construction project The mexican said if I have to eat one more taco for lunch I'm going to jump off this building The italian said if I have to eat one more pizza for lunch I'm going to jump off this building The Polack said if I have to eat one more baloney sandwich for lunch I'm going to jump off this building Next day The mexican saw his taco and jumped to his death The italian saw his pizza and jumped to his death The Polack saw his baloney sandwich and jumped to his death At the funeral The mexican wife said if I knew he hated tacos I wouldn't have made him it again The italian wife said if I knew he hated pizzas I wouldn't have made him it again Everyone then looked at the Polish wife and she said "don't look at me, he makes his own baloney sandwiches"!!!!!!!!! Sign at the gun store Polish infantry rifle for sale Once dropped never fired
  4. It was much worse in 1975
  5. I agree with you on this and Vogl just tweeted this Points per game during last three seasons: Steven Stamkos .90, Kyle Okposo .88 Are we better off going after Okposo and saving money??? Or is the name brand really better?? edit: I don't know how to imbed a tweet so I went with the copy/past method
  6. This will be hard to beat for #1 Post of the Day
  7. I'm not an advanced numbers guy but it seems to me this is a major improvement on our 3rd LHD man. Wherever he ends up, he's a legitimate LHD candidate and whoever ends up on our 3rd pairing is a major upgrade over who we had there last season much less the prior 2. He was a 2nd pairing Dman on a team with the 3rd best goal differential in the league last year although it must be fair to point out Florida traded or didn't sign 3 of their top 4 and only 5 teams gave up less goals than they did. They did this by picking up our 3rd pairing D who wasn't getting all that much ice time before Franson's injury. I'm not seeing the downside of this trade especially if Asplund works out.
  8. I guess my question is the word reeks and not necessarily Battista. What do you expect from a 4th rounder and below?? Everything at this point is a crap shoot and not that kind of shoot the dice kind.....
  9. I don't necessarily think so. They are going to have a nightmare scenario for the expansion draft in getting no-one for a boatload of good Dmen. They most likely are going to have to trade someone or multiple someone's and the price is going to go down the longer they wait.
  10. Kulikov was on the market but became available because of Yandle. We gave up a 3rd pairing Dman for a guy who played 23+ minutes for the Panthers in the playoffs, plays the left side (a need) and will most likely get top 2 pairing minutes for us. A little pricey$ but we have a year to decide if he fits in or not. Good skater, good on the puck, still young. The 3rd we gave up was the bottom of the picks we had if I'm not mistaken and is as much a payback for moving up to 33 from 38 as it was for the Dman trade aspect. This may be a deal where both Dmen needed a change of scenery to show what put them in the NHL to begin with.
  11. What is really nice about this pick also is he doesn't have to go back to juniors to play next year if he doesn't stick on the team. They can play him in Rochester which would hopefully speed up his development. Speed is off the charts with this kid also.
  12. I'm with you on this one, great pick
  13. Someone asked about who Montour was, here's some info I found on the guy. Played with San Diego in the AHL last season had 13G and 54As in 82 games. Fastest Skater: Brandon Montour, D, San Diego Gulls (AHL) ‏Montour has wheels. With or without the puck, this kid can move. There will be times during games where he will gather the puck on his stick and take off on an end to end rush that can make most defending players look like they are in slow motion. He is an aggressive and enterprising offensive defenseman who often plays with an inherent risk that stems from his tremendous quickness and top-end speed. He can be a nightmare for slower defensemen and wingers to keep hold of in the offensive zone and in transition. FutureMontour is skating for new Anaheim AHL affiliate San Diego in 2015-16. In his first season of pro hockey, he is the leading scorer amongst Gulls' defensemen. Montour has been dominant at times but his positional play is still evolving. His risk taking can sometimes get him in bad spots — whether it's taking undisciplined penalties or getting caught out of position. With his combination of offensive instincts and drive to score, Montour projects as a player capable of causing havoc from the back end of the attack and running an NHL power play effectively. With added bulk and strength and refined positional play he has a high upside.
  14. GMTM pick a Russian???? NFW
  15. Keller seems to be the popular choice but if they go forward, I think they pick Nylander before Keller. In fact if Vesey signs here and Nylander is the pick, that pretty much guarantees family feud with the Leafs.
  16. Tomorrow! Tomorrow! The Draft is Tomorrow! You're only A day Away!

  18. Isn't that 6??? We're even now on the correction posts
  19. It sounds to me like you guys have Toronto-Paranoia or better known as Torontoitis. I think this is in the bag and he signs here. Your making his dad and him to have this conspiracy to play for the Leafs. I don't believe that to be the case at all. I think something happened to tick him off on Nashville and he's going to play it to his advantage now. Smart play IMO.

  21. Then you may not be typing the thoughts you have in your head for me to understand what you meant if you didn't mean that.
  22. I'm going with 6, The Buffalo Sabres select FirstName LastName
  23. I may not be typing the thoughts I have in my head for you to understand what I meant but I didn't mean that. Having said that what makes you think that Jimmy would be immature enough to drop every possible opportunity that is out there just to play on a team his dad is employed by. I don't think you are giving the Harvard graduate enough credit to make his own decision.
