He's actually played well for the past few games Lehner won us a game finally, outplayed Price who I thought who also played a heck of a game For being out as much as he's been the past 2 seasons, I think Ennis has had his moments and I think he's 3-0 since returning Foligno gives his line someone who can win a board battle but I don't see him as a long term answer in that spot Randall Flagg was NOT the most negative poster in the GDT yesterday....... Kudos to him for being #1 for so long TrueBlue must have been in the back of the bunker because it took him a loooooong time to post after Bogo's winner

I'm not necessarily the biggest DDB fan on the planet but to lay the blame of everything that is wrong with the Sabres on his shoulders, I think is very unfair. He wasn't around or responsible for the tank years/ 2 of the most abysmal hockey seasons ever. Yes most of those players are gone but you left in ruins any sense of winning tradition within the team. This team needs to learn how to win. Injuries have played a part in this also. Tonight for example we will be without our entire LHD lineup from the projected start of the year. DDB's job is to instill a system and I still haven't seen anyone here really explain what he's trying to setup AND to win every game possible. If that means playing a style that is not what he or us want, well that's the way it is. The wanting to play a style similar to Pittsburgh, Toronto, Edmonton etc... is not going to happen. If you want to put blame on that, throw that issue with GMTM because that is not the team he is building even if we were healthy. #1-#2-#3 we don't have Crosby-McDavid or Matthews/Marner in the lineup. #4 When GMTM took over he gave the impression that the LA Kings/A.Ducks were the teams he wanted to emulate where the Kane-Bogosian-ROR-Okposo additions came from. You can have an opinion on whether or not these were all good additions or not but they don't speak, McDavid-Gaudreau-Mackinnon speed/style of players. We are not that type of team. 2 of our top 4 players are not defensively responsible. Jack and Samson do some incredible things on the ice but they are as easy to play against in that teams just skate through them as fast as they also enter the zone. Jack is also not 100% this year and most likely will not be this entire year. A high ankle sprain was/is one of the hardest to overcome for all pro players and to be honest it's pretty incredible that he's come back this far. We won't see the real Jack until next year. As much as I like E.Kane, gives 100% and is one of the few Sabres that are truly hard to play against, he is probably the only player on the team that we would be willing to give up that could potentially get us something of value in return. Risto-Jack-Samson-ROR and Okposo aren't going anywhere. No-one else will get us back anything that would be much of an improvement for the team. I'm in the keep DDB camp until at least this time next year.

He's scored 30 goals in his 94 games he's played here, I don't know what you're talking about, you don't like his style?? I understand that but to say he has little to no value as a player, I think you're wrong Cut your post short for brevity but I think it's more of an ego thing with him feeling he was bounced off the top 6. I think it's worked because he's taken the bait and he's been a big positive for the team and Samson in my opinion. He and Bailey are giving him space to play which is making his transition to Center much easier and successful.

Hopefully they continue on their 2017 hot streak, team is getting healthier and it's beginning to show.

I have to admit I'm confused by this, we are one of the worst goal scoring teams in the league and you want to trade your best 5v5 goal scorer, your 2nd highest goal scorer and your 2nd highest goals per game scorer for a Dman????? He better be a top 2 LHD to even think about it. For as disappointing this season has gone mainly because of injuries, we are 1 point behind Tampa Bay and Dallas and 2 behind Nashville with games in hand. We're starting to get our injured back on the ice and playing well and you want to blow it up already??? I just don't get it. Did anyone think we would be this close in points to those 3 teams and be having a disappointing season?? Some of those hot teams early this year are going to back track some, if you're going to trade some guys on the team you start with your older vets.... Gorges, Moulson, Franson, Now your making sense but a 25 year old who happens to be a goal scorer and one of the very few speed players on the team, not without a MAJOR return.

My opinion is until you can get a couple of other wingers who can put the puck into the net, you don't give up your best 5v5 scorer. He doesn't play a pretty game but he's effective and he's one of the few guys who looks ready made to be a playoff player on this team

Missed almost a 1/3 of the season with injury and he still leads the team in even strength 5v5 goals. Of course you keep him.

A month ago I'd agree with the bolded but Samson has stepped it up in the middle and that trio was downright dangerous last night. I'd like to see what they can do together for a period of time. In fact I think Kane and Bailey make up for SR's shortcomings and I think his passing ability can open up some lanes for the speed boys. If Reino works out at C, Larry's a goner.

My analogies were to show that the heart and soul of Montreal and Tampa have had detrimental results for their teams when they were injured and to show the multitude of injuries that never seem to end for this team has had the same effect for the Sabres. We have not been 100% healthy this entire season, from Jack to Kane to all the other combinations together. By the way, Gorges is my personal bunker Dman, he was not to be included in the top 4 I was alluding to. Bogosian and Kulikov were the 2 just as an FYI....

It's also reported that the only player in the locker room at the time of Jack's outburst was Lehner who was being interviewed by the press at the time. Not implying anything in particular but who really knows what was going thru the kids mind when it happened but 99% of the time the conjecture surrounding this type of thing is usually WRONG.

Price goes down, Montreal goes from one of the top teams in the league to out of the playoffs Stamkos goes down this year, the Lightning goes from one of the top teams to 6 points ahead of us with 2 games more played The Sabres lose 2 of their top 4 D for the equivalent of 1/2 the season and lose Kane, ROR and Eichel for the equivalent of over 1/2 the season and we want to blame all the failures of this team on the Coach??? You don't need fancy stats to see what's wrong with this team, you need reality maybe???

It seems like a fair list except it doesn't take into account the depth of some teams... Do we fair better if you add Bailey-Baptiste-Carrier-McCabe-Guhle-Fasching-Borgen and Petersen??? Not a prospect personnel guy so I'm not sure what other teams have
