  1. Yes we all know you were in your Debbie Downer period, πŸ˜€ good to see you're recovering well
  2. My opinions on the game: The only thing worst than Pysyk and Hagg was the PK Had to watch the Stars broadcast, the color guy was much better than Ray ever thought of being, some of his thoughts: Thought the Sabres future was bright with the young core already here, Power and about to be plus 3 1st rounders coming up Mentioned how hard it is to find cohesion when so many guys are out for the Sabres Complemented Quinn on his goal scoring and that he has 73 goals in his last 102 games played, crazy stat Thought the goal by Dahlin was special and although he needs work on defense, his skills are noticable When Hagg made the spin move for a turnover it was said "they need to tell him on the bench what were you doing? you're not Dahlin" Made several comments on how the Sabres were attacking but that they thought they were leaving themselves open to getting easily counter attacked especially with all the turnovers they were making. He thought that was their biggest issue When Benn hit Dahlin at the end of the first period it was said they need to do that a lot more to slow that guy down Dahlin was 1st in points, 1st in TOI, 1st in Hits and was 3rd in blocked shots for the Sabres. I'll be shocked if Tuch isn't our next C with Dahlin and Cozens as the A's, Skinner actually plays hard, Thompson isn't going to get moved from Center Samuelsson is steady as a rock, he's not going back to Rochester with the possible exception of the playoffs Young core is going to have to muscle up, we have little grit especially with the exception of a couple of forwards, it was really noticeable yesterday, color guy mentioned how with so many guys with size on Sabres they don't utilize it Krebs played his worst game, seemed too predictable but he does have vision The past few games Asplund seems to have hands of stone, for a Swede he has mishandled passes right on the tape. WTF.
  3. Could this be gaining momentum??
  4. Who kept selling him??
  5. Oh no, please don't even think this.
  6. Yes I agree with you with the caveat that he'll come back pretty rusty and it'll take around 5-10 games to round into form which will be just long enough for most everyone to call him a bust and ask to get him traded at the deadline.
  7. 41 days, that's pretty close to 6 weeks on my calculator. It would be great if he can make it back in the next week or 2.
  8. Only issue with Rutta is will he be willing to go from a perennial Stanley Cup contender to this place on a 2 year deal?? While the Arizona kid will probably look at this as an upgrade and Mayfield being traded will have little choice. I'm also pretty sure that all of the others are better than Rutta to begin with.
  9. Since the Ghosts seem to have missed this, the game is also on ESPN+ and Bally Sports Southwest in Tx and OK for us not local fans. We owned Dallas last year hopefully it'll turn out well again this year. LETS GO BUFFALO
  10. Available RD's for next year IMO Ilya Lyubushkin from Arizona, Russian who plays steady in the defensive zone and probably can't get out of there quick enough UFA Jan Rutta from Tampa Bay another defense 1st guy who they probably can't afford UFA Scott Mayfield from the Islanders, big defense 1st guy, who may be available in a trade if the NYI don't make the playoffs and their prospect pool is light. 1 year after this year on his contract so a trade is needed Could Tyler Myers make a return. 2 years left on his contract, Vancouver may not make the playoffs again and they're not far from cap hell also. I know I'm going to get killed for this one πŸ˜ƒ but we could do worst than this. Trade needed I'm also thinking that Bryson may want to move over to the right side, with Samuelsson looking ready and steady in the D zone he'd be able to roam a bit with some backup, although Dahlin and Power could possible move to the right side but why would the Sabres do that??
  11. They couldn’t fit Frank Wardynski & Sons Kielbasa on the helmet
  12. I haven't live there since 77' and I had to look it up also when I first saw it. So don't feel too bad, that news didn't travel well past the Mississippi I guess.
  13. Where the heck is @Brawndo, we need the lineup card bro πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
  14. You never realize how many commercials there are until you record a game and then watch it later. It takes less than an hour to then watch it. Then again 91 of the top 100 watched tv shows were football games. Dang that's impressive and why they own the other major sports. We should be able to catch almost 1/2 the Sabres game before the Bills game starts so you'll be able to tell if it's worth recording and rewatching or not. If Thompson plays it should be an interesting game to see how we match up with another rebuilding team. I'm surprised they didn't inquire about moving the game up at least a couple of hours to not overlap each other. LETS GO BUFFALO
  15. My Observations from last night: Jankowski and Bjork played their best games last night, both were very good defensively, Hinostroza was flying around also Being a very good defensive man doesn't mean you're perfect, as for someone's observation that who was better Dahlin or Josi, you can add Hedman to that list also from the game before. Well deserved All Star game nomination IMO Amazing what happens when you add 3 NHL vets to your lineup in Tuch, Okposo and Hagg especially on the PK We may have caught Nashville at the right time after their victory against Colorado the other day but that doesn't take away the cohesiveness the Sabres played with either. I was entertained. The lineup will get interesting when Mitts and Thompson gets back. Who'll play with who. Cozens looked dangerous with Skinner and Tuch. WTF was FHCRK thinking when he kept demoting Skinner?? When he's on, he's a pain in the dupa to play against. The team defense made Dell look good, don't fool yourself we're still in GK hell
  16. Well if he takes #15 as in the IIHF, I/we can tape over my/our Eichel jersey and put Wright over it. 😁😁
  17. There seems to be some recency bias. We haven't made the playoffs in 16 of the past 20 seasons. This malaise we're in has a history to it. The first thing to do besides draft better (which I hope is already happening) is to get the young guys to buy into the program. The failure of the 2014 tank was not only not drafting well but picking up disgruntled players from other teams and hoping a leadership group which wasn't already here would manifest itself. Never happened. It appears the hockey leadership is on the same page moving ahead. A good start IMO and the young guys appear to be bonding and Okposo and Girgs have provided some leadership to the group. We'll see how it goes but I don't think that light in the tunnel is a train anymore and there is a spark of hope on the horizon. The young guys even when they do arrive aren't going to turn this around immediately, 2024 is when I think we'll be a viable playoff team/contender but we're going to have to hit in this years and next years draft. As for Eichel, great player and I'm sorry it didn't work out but he wasn't the Captain to help drive this turnaround because of his attitude and constant hormonal changes, happy, sad, unhappy, mad. I think the hockey leadership wanted him gone the year before but decided to give it one more chance that of course didn't work. You can see and feel in the interviews the young guys have a different outlook on the club. The JAGS will be gone soon enough.
  18. I feel like I'm in a rock song loop here with you 2 playing Billy Preston's "Will It Go Round In Circles" again. @dudacek is a Rod Stewart "Reason to Believe" kind of optimist and @Thorny is a R.E.M. "Everybody Hurts" kind of dour guy. What this team lacks is organizational depth to overcome injuries, sickness, etc..... The optimistic outlook is we're finally starting to build depth not with NHL ready guys but players that are/will be better skilled eventually and the I'm sick and tired of losing attitude (which we all endure/feel) that everybody sucks and nothing in the short term will get better because the young guys won't make it better for awhile. One of the problems isn't that we don't have a true #1C but we don't have a true #1 Winger as well. Does Panarin, Kucherov, Kane need a #1C or are they still #1 wingers that need someone to build chemistry to succeed. Our #1 talent level probably only includes Dahlin and really right now nobody else.
  19. Surprised Ryan Johnson not on the USA radar and Brock Faber is for the Gophers.
  20. I hadn't thought of Rutta but with the expected departures of Butcher, Miller, Pysyk and Hagg, you have just lost over 9M in salary cap next year. If I keep anyone of those, I'd pick Hagg as your 7th Dman along with Bryson/Samuelsson as your 3rd pairing LD 8th man. You have the spare cash to go after someone like Klingberg as your 1st or 2nd pairing guy and keep Fitzgerald as your 3rd pairing RD. Right now Dahlin is getting heavy minutes and Power eventually/shortly will also get heavy minutes so that 3rd pairing duo isn't going to get much besides PK time IMO. Pysyk shows flashes of being competent but there's better guys to get and they have the cap available to upgrade that spot significantly if they want. Dahlin-Power-Samuelsson-Bryson-Joker-Fitzgerald-Hagg and Klingberg/or another solid vet and you still have your young core to build off of plus Jiricek or another RD with one of those 3 1st rounders they have this year. They're looking solid on the backend in the near future. Pysyk isn't needed.
  21. I also think that with the impending software which will follow player movement while in play they’ll need someone to decipher the info coaches and others can understand
  22. I guess this is what we can expect from a guy who still uses a pencil and an eraser πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ on the job Thank you sir from us former software and mechanical engineers
  23. He can’t say he wasn’t warned that the hopium πŸ’© was addicting!!
