  1. I'd love to see what would ensue if he pulled that with Gallant or Torts as head coach!
  2. Torts is a good coach. Rough around the edges but he holds players accountable. Love Torts!
  3. Absolutely. People are down on Power and I get it, but I won't throw in the towel on the kid because he is talented. He just needs a serious coaching staff tohelp him mature and use the skills he has. Defense has been horse #### with this club for over a decade now and each new coaching staff refuses to address it properly. Again, I believe there is just way too much talent in the dressing room tp be in the spot they're in. It is being completely pissed away with this coaching staff. Any of these young guys moves on from this club and you'll see "what could have been" yet again.
  4. I'm in full agreement with your post. It has been terrible coaching choices for over a decade now. Too much talent in that dressing room and it is being completely wasted. Sickening.
  5. Totally agree. Having Granato and staff stick around means more of the same old same old. No point to that either. I totally believe this mess is on coaching and has been for the past decade. The talent is there in my opinion but it needs a new direction (and perhaps a harder direction) This is spinning your wheels stuff now. Zero reason to keep Donnie and staff.
  6. Oh I agree. Berube just may be able to write his own ticket. I still prefer Gallant (which is the real reason I said I'd be willing to accept Berube) Basically, I'd like a coach who is a bit harder on the boys and will hold them accountable for their play. Not to make excuses for them. In other words, a little more "old school". I'd be happy with either guy. Very happy.
  7. and the Nolan teams were accountable to each other and busted their ass, game in and game out. I went to many of those and those games were entertaining.
  8. I think any of us that bother to post, or read the posts of others on this site care about the Buffalo Sabres. However, as you continue to see the same results for the past 13 seasons under different coaches, GM's etc. and to see a team, that in my opinion, has some solid talent and promising youth in the organization, you start to tune out and find other things to do with your life. Until serious changes are made bringing in some veteran knowledgable hockey people (the current process of giving unproven individuals the head coaching jobs and GM positions just isn't working) expect more of the same as we squander a decent full cupboard of talent. Again, just my opinion, but Donnie G (and I do like the guy) isn't working out and neither is Kevyn. I would be more interested in investing my time in this club if they were replaced. Playoffs weren't happening and I still stand by the Sportscentre US Thanksgiving stat. If you aren't in a playoff spot by then, the odds are heavily against you. Quinn's return won't be enough to right this ship this season. The playbook on playing the Sabres is out: Bring a heavy game and you will defeat them.
  9. At this point, I would be willing to accept Berube as head coach as he would be tough on the players. This crap has to stop at some point and accountability throughout the organization has to occur, for any serious meaningful change. Until a decent head coach is in place, expect exactly more of the same. There is talent in this organization and it is being squandered.
  10. Look at the Oilers now after they made theirs.
  11. Great movie! One of my all time favs!
  12. Truth, they play like it's a pick up game or scrimmage. No system. Unbelievable.
  13. I remember when that chant was a positive for the Sabres! Ahhhhh, the good old Memorial Aud days!
  14. Wow this team is bad. Scary bad.
  15. Again, Gerard Gallant anyone? Would he be willing to coach this mess? (he's still getting paid, so there's no desperation on his part)
  16. I thought for sure they were going to screw the Sabres again.
  17. Holy cow! I stand corrected absolutely! C'mon Sabres, don't let this one slip!!! A full regulation 2 points needed. UPL has had a decent game, get him a W!!!!!!!!
  18. Pitt will play that perfect road game now. Wait for another Sabres mistake and kill time.
  19. 2-0. This one is over. I see nothing threatening offensively from this Sabres club tonight.
  20. Agreed, unless UPL (who has actually been not all that shabby (breakaway record aside) or Comrie truly start to shine, KA should seek out a goalie. Let Levi go to Rochester and play regularly. The kid has a long career in front of him, treat him right.
  21. I think you're right. The only way the Sabres make it is with a couple of changes. They can't afford to flounder with Tage out and perhaps mediocre goaltending. Not much out there in the way of decent available goalies as Edmonton is seriously on the hunt as well. Halak intrigues me as he is capable of going on a run but that is past history. He requested out of Carolina so if he's reasonably priced? Patrick Kane intrigues me as his hip is all healed and perhaps he can pick up from Tage in the interim and if he's motivated to be home, who knows? He won't come cheaply but the Sabres need to get scoring again and who else is available that can help in that department? and get Levi to Rochester. Kid needs to play on a more consistant basis. He's so young, no need to saddle him with this kind of pressure just yet.
  22. They may have to make a few changes to get there. Not sure who they could get as a goaltender as apparently Edmonton is looking as well. Also how long will Tage be out and how long will it take for both he and Quinn to get back into game playing shape when they return. I have to say, I'm intrigued at the thought of Patrick Kane and perhaps Jaro Halak in goal so Devon can play loads in Rochester. Just a thought.
  23. Apparently it's an "average". I just Googled it again and they give stats and at the very end they state "On average, roughly 3 teams that are outside the playoff picture by US Thanksgiving ed up qualifying". My mistake, not only "3 teams", but on average, only 3 teams per season.
  24. Yup, just had Sports Net on here in Ontario and they just mentioned that stat again. Only 3 teams. Edmonton also being one of them.
