  1. and the big one: We weren't winning with Cozens in the lineup so this trade doesn't bother me one bit. Hopefully more to come!
  2. My God the defense is such horse ####! Incredible how brutal it truly still is. Not sure where our coaching has been for the past several years. Same old, same old.
  3. I hope you're right actually. No team in professional sport hangs onto a GM with a track record for missing the playoffs as many times as Kev has now. It has to be done.
  4. Truth. Plus if he did manage to acquire what I would like, I think the World would be coming to an end soon.
  5. I'm not sure why he has dropped off the table so badly. Ever since he was out for that period of time he doesn't play the same in my opinion. I remember when posters here wanted him back in the lineup so the Sabres would win some games, as they figured he was a key to the lineup. Now, many want to see him moved out and it wouldn't bother me if they did either. Can't understand what's happened to Muel.
  6. I think it' time GM Kevyn really tried to get a defensive defenseman. One with an edge or at least some grit that will take the body and not "stick check". In fact Kevyn, try to collect 2 or 3 of them if you possibly can. Because this teams D is rotten and any goalie worth his salt ain't signing here knowing the D that's in front of him.
  7. and it's the same season after season. Not sure if the coaching staff is to blame or the players simply refuse to play proper NHL defense. I'm stunned as to why this continues every season. You have to help your goaltender out. UPL can't be expected to stand on his head game in game out just to try to get this club 2 points and then get the blame when he doesn't. The defense has been putrid for seasons and it includes the captain! Sure he can skate and shoot but he's listed on the roster as a defenseman and it is the really weak part of his game!
  8. The defense has been, and continues to be horse#### going on several seasons now. They don't move bodies, they don't hit, they get prone to running around and they leave opponents unmarked. It's garbage!
  9. To be honest, I can't see the Bills beating the Ravens. I really can't. Lamar is outperforming "MVP Lamar" from last season (and I believe he will be the MVP this season as well) plus Derrick Henry (who gives the Bills D fits, plus the overall Ravens D. Forget Mahomes, this is the team that could derail the dream!
  10. Hopefully he gets some real hockey people in to run the club. That would certainly get my respect that he's looking to right the ship. I actually believe Kevyn's hands are tied now with the no movement clauses for a lot of vets. Very hard to get what your club needs when you have the pieces to deal but you can't get the return.
  11. Exactly, build a competitive hockey club and the building will fill again (with the majority being Sabres fans!) the place will be electric, your kids will fall in love with this team. The atmosphere will be addictive and best of all, players will definitely want to be a part of it. It's all good!!! Just like it used to be!
  12. And the most frustrating? Pegula could have been a God in this town. I mean, if the Bills can grab a Super Bowl under his watch, he may still be, but with his cash, he could have made it happen for the Sabres also. He has seriously damaged that organization.
  13. It's just for the life of me, I can't understand why? I think the damage he has now done to the Sabres is actually going to take a really long time to expel. Why wouldn't you want to be the super successful owner of 2 sport franchises? It boggles my mind.
  14. You're not wrong there when it comes to this team. 13 seasons (perhaps 14?) is way way too long.
  15. And he didn't have to be. That's why I'm pissed at myself. He came with no baggage (like apparently Rigas & Golisano) very wealthy, got emotional standing next to The French Connection. I felt good about being a fan again. I felt he was "the guy" that could maybe take this club to the promised land. Now he won't meet with the media, doesn't go to the games. It truly didn't have to go this way. That sums up my frustration. A part of me actually feels sorry for Kevyn Adams. Even if he wants to make a deal, I believe there are so many vets out there with Buffalo now on their no movement list, he can only do so much. We need some vets for the young guys. I really believe that.
  16. This is actually another reason I bitch about this club. I remember going to both the Aud and HSBC as it was back then (maybe even Marine Midland) Sold out games!!! Atmosphere way better than you get in Toronto! The place would shake at times, it was electric and you felt good about being a fan. To see game nights now (tonight being the exception of course) with maybe a half filled building and usually more of the opponents fans. It is so incredibly sad and disheartening. Also to realize that another generation of what could be young fans are missing that experience or just don't care is so criminal. I am angry with myself for swallowing what Terry Pegula was selling when he first came over and seeing what has become under his tenure. What you see tonight is what I fondly remember and yeah, it hurts.
  17. By the way, seeing your location, isn't it blasphemy to be a Sabres fan living there???
  18. Maybe I gave them credit too soon. 4-2 now.
  19. Believe me, as a Sabres fan since the 70's (yup, I'm old) with closets full of Sabres gear, I remember when this team used to be the model of what a smaller market hockey club could be, and when Leaf fans were envious of what the team " down the highway" was capable of. It is nothing but a laughing stock under this current ownership group and an embarrassment of a professional sports team. It pisses me off big time. Everyone should be piling on as an entire generation of kids will have zero interest in this club. I could be apathetic if that suits you better. Players do not want to come here, that is a hard truth now, the part about many having Buffalo on their no movement list is now a very sad reality. Yeah, I hope you're not too disappointed.
  20. and seriously, they did change the goalie. Not sure why that messes with the Sabres but they need to shed that monkey. Buffalo has to get a more physical lineup, you can see what would happen if and when they ever make the playoffs.
  21. Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! This is the Hawks! Read some of the posts here tonight. Sure its nice to get a win but look where this team stands. Yes, there are posters on here who believe this club (after tonight's victory, should they hold on) can get right back into the thick of contending for a playoff spot.
  22. To dial back the delusional hopes of some on this group that after a couple of wins against bottom feeders, this club is playoff bound and maybe with some confidence, a contender. Seriously?????
  23. I'm telling you, wait until the real contenders come knocking, do not get sucked in by this group yet again. I'm a Sabres fan, but no way wins against the Isles and Hawks ( both of whom they should definitely beat) are getting me to think this club is close to being a playoff contender.
  24. No, they're not. Wins against the Isles and Hawks don't mean ####. You'll see.
