my idea of near term is months to a couple years. When he cut costs he didn’t have the Bills investors and was funding it all himself (the overrun). I’m sure he was expecting to not recoup that money for years. Now that he has the investors, that should ease his burden tremendously. I’m hoping (not holding my breath) that he starts to invest more money into the Sabres now that he isn’t funding both teams completely out of his own pocket.

Why do you think it was about near term finances? I’m convinced that the cost cutting was because Terry was planning the new stadium and needed all the cash he can get. He’s on the hook for the $500 million dollar plus overrun. Obviously the new investors will help ease that burden but that’s one hell of a hit even for someone like Terry. basically robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Just because young players will get better certainly doesn’t guarantee that the team will be better. It takes a lot more than a few good players to make the team better. again the Sabres had great young players a few years back and it certainly didn’t make the team better did it?

I’m generally positive in life. I can be positive about some of the players on the team. I won’t be positive for the team as a whole. The team is not good at all hence why they’re 29th in the league. Well worth the $49 million the Sabres will eventually pay for him

The Sabres looked like a pee wee team against them. If this team ever makes the playoffs they’re going to get beaten like this in every single game because this is how a playoff team plays
