I look at sv% somewhat like QB’s interceptions in the NFL. A QB could drop a pass in a receivers hands, it bounces out and a defender catches it, that interception goes against the QB. In the 6 interceptions Allen had this year I would say half of them the pass were spot on but the receiver screwed up. If a goalie absolutely has no chance on a goal, if a puck gets deflected, etc it affects the goalies sv%. UPL’s stats may not be elite but he’s at least playing well enough to keep them in games most of the time. He even stole a game or two this season.

The whole season, not halfway through the season. They can’t keep “Turning it on” in the second half of the season and think they will make the playoffs. At the moment this season is an anomaly. Any other season they would be pretty much out of it. if there was a season to break the drought, this is it

Consistently win throughout the season would be a pretty good start. Trying to make up points at the second half is the season is not a good way to try and make the playoffs

There is no guarantee that he will get it right eventually. Terry wasn’t the owner of the Bills for the whole 17 year drought. He only owned them for 3 years before they made the playoffs. He’s been the owner of the Sabres for 14.

These posts should be in their own thread. This is great stuff especially the Commanders comparison. I have lived in the DC area for 25 years and watched it all. It’s just mind boggling the turn around when you make the right s and have buy in from the top down. I have a feeling we’re going to start hearing rumors that the young is not happy. Some may already be regretting their decisions to sign long term and may start looking for a way out. fans also need to start to revolt. Except for games like Toronto, Montreal, etc the arena should be empty. Fans need to stop buying tickets, merch, etc. unfortunately there isn’t a big enough hardcore fan, like the Bills, base to do that. Many fans are casual Sabres fans and probably don’t see the absolute distinction.
