I remember that little jester by Cozens. That was a physical game with a lot of talk and it was a big game for the Wild to maintain their playoff hopes. That was a must win for the Wild against a beatable team. Appears DG has the underdog spoiler roll going on.

Bjork-Eakin-Hayden 2nd Worst Line in NHL (now 437 out of 438)
woods-racer replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
Still going to defend Hayden, he's the poster boy for 4th liners. He has the best fancy stats on that line (can't figure out to to pull them onto this site) by a lot. He's big, fast for his size, can get a maintain puck possession, and make good simple passes to an open teammate. He has hands of stone. We have complementary pieces already on the team that would improve that line. Can't wait to see what happens when Girgensons is healthy. -
I think Bjork is faster with the same stone hands and has no clue how to use his body to shield the puck. Hayden can also find an open man to get the puck to, something Eakin and Bjork are clueless to. It appears that DG see's a little something in Hayden as he got a little extra ice time than his line mates. Love to see a Hayden/Jankowski/Girgensons line for at least 4-5 games and see how they gel.

I'm going to disagree with you. Hayden on at least three shifts had possession of the puck in the O-zone when the next line came on. Twice it was the Thompson line and once it was the Mitt's line. Giving your top Offensive lines possession in the o zone on a line change may not be on any stat sheets but it's a big deal, and he did it on shear will.

My biggest take away from the game.. Mitts's mom still has it going on!

It's the ocean. -
This whole GD thread started on some weird hockey god unholy vibes and has taken a turn for the abstract. When you miss the MUST WIN theme you know it's bad.

He would be impossible to replace. He is exactly what many here have been harping for, a seasoned vet with leadership and some game left. We need one more just like him.

GDT: Sabres @ Leafs 7:30pm, 3/2/2022, on 📺 and 📻

TO's previous 5 games before last night they gave up 20 goals and scored 22. If they can't average above 4 goals a game they can't win. It's not just their defense and goalies, they suck as a team on defense. It appears they are constantly bad. -

I know there is little love for Hayden, but he played another really good game. -

As much as I hate Leaf's fans, this was nothing but class by their organization. -

Do you believe twitter? If you do it's happening.

Smart all around move. Slide his ELC. Get Rochester jumpstarted. Let him get back into playing shape before he comes back for a game or 2.

Next year (if we stay on a linear win pace) will be an 80-ish point season. That will be SOME more wins. Unless you are looking at giving up a large sum (picks /prospects)for the likes of a Price to tend net next year this team with any other goalie won't add much to the win column. You want your cake and eat it too. Get a really good goalie but pay little for it in a time when goalies are at a premium because of covid. Your asking KA to win the goalie lottery or else he will be a failure. He's taken that bet with Levi/UPL/Portillo. He may get lucky with salary cap dumps. I just won't be upset if he gets a do-over of this year. To the bold. A Buffalo weather person. Rarely gets it right and always blames the lake.
-
Pegula bucks wise, yes they can. They can afford any goalie in the league. They are not giving up anything lower than a 3rd to get that goalie. Second bold. Are we a playoff team with a true #1 next year? If you believe we are than we need one, if they are not it would just be nice to have one. The 2023/24 season they will absolutely need a good pair of goalies.

Hasek wants the NHL to Suspend the Russian Players!

Withdrawing the hosting rights in 2023 has some teeth to it. The rest is window dressing. -
I really believe Anderson will be back next season. He has some game left, not 40 games a season game but enough to mentor UPL and get 20 games in. Is Tokarski good enough for the other 20 games? There's where KA has a chance to bring in an upgrade. Our number 1 goalie will be from within. It's just a matter of when. I don't expect any UFA or trade for a goalie that would qualify as a #1 starter.

Sabres reveal season ticket, fan engagement plan

They know. They also know it's not going to happen before the start of the 2022/23 season. It's why they are trying this.
