  1. Gaudreau is not even close to the overall player Eich is. Ones a quick handed gnat, the others a physically dominating thoroughbred. Also, Eich had 70 pts as an 18 year old to Johnny's 80 at 20. Big two years there.
  2. Goose laying body on the line. A nice guy to have on Line 3 and a necessary component to a playoff run.
  3. Agree, but WPG is very high bar to set especially considering this is their first playoff game in so many years. FN arena will be rocking Game 1 or 3 of our next playoff series. Minnesota was also a fantastic crowd. The atmospheres have really been on display. I wouldn't put Buffalo in the group of WPG, MIN, MON, VAN, OTT, CGY, but we are very much in the second tier of mostly northern USA towns. We'll be rocking again, don't worry. It's just a shame the Sabres had the opportunity to lock in Buffalo in place of failing Bills and never truly delivered the big one. But like I said, we'll be back with the DETs and BOSs soon enough.
  4. In stature and reach. Just daydreaming about what Jackie boy will look like out there. And yeah, Getz is an elite player.
  5. Eich reminds me a lot of Getzlaf. :)
  6. I think we all got numb to Myer's athletic uniqueness. He is a special player and has been on display all year. On a bigger stage in Winny, and on an even bigger stage now. (Editor's note: this has nothing to do with the trade. I am excited as anyone about Eichel/Kane power play. Just sayin.)
  7. Anybody who watched the final game want to provide a Dude-like report?
  8. Impressive front office performance to turn the ship around that quickly. A few great drafts and smart surrounding cast acquisitions. Come on Timmy! Very entertaining game. Hard hitting spilling over into some brawls. Teams aren't fans of one another. (understatement).
  9. Bennett looking special :/
  10. Amen. Shouldn't be a thread. Eich is probably looking at these boards in disbelief at some of these ungrateful posts. He's one of a kind and will be the face of our franchise for a decade. Making Buffalo new Hockeytown USA, and not coming with a remote threat of wanting to continue career in Toronto once rookie contract is up. Also, Jackie Eichel is a much stronger name!!
  11. Haha, nails on a chalkboard. He knows his stuff at least. Much better than the team that did the Hawks/Preds game last night. His biggest detriment is how big of a homer he is (and obnoxious Mass accent), but hopefully that was eliminated with the Bs.
  12. Yes clearly. Always thought of as prospect though and you can see the similarities in their style of play, especially how they handle the puck. Franchises try to catch these more mental backends (e.g. Bishop, M Smith, Varly) when they discover their confidence and game. Sometimes all it is is the environment. Hoping Lindback found his comfort zone here, and I wouldn't be surprised if he got a contract.
  13. Thank you Dude! A little discouraging to hear about Sam's strength, but not totally unexpected. On the other hand, looks like Larsson's next level is here to stay.
  14. Lindback reminds me a bit of Rinne. Hopefully learned a few things under his wing there. Hoping to have him on the team next year.
  15. Anybody know who he was playing with? Would be great to see him and Larsson get a little chemistry going.
  16. Thanks for sharing. It was pretty clear his body wasn't ready to the big leagues. The Reinharts are known for their smarts and character, but may take a bit longer to develop physically. Excited to watch him in the next Amerks game.
  17. Bennett was one of the best players on the ice Wednesday.
  18. A lot of prospects playing right now in London/Erie matchup. Stream here.
  19. Penguins stumble continues, coughing up a point in OTT. Things are tight enough in the playoff picture, that it looks like we'll get a full-go Penguins squad on a back-to-back. Hope it's sewn up Friday of course, but if not, there's still a bit of comfort in the dreaded final game scenario.
  20. If you're not ecstatic about Eichel, you don't watch minor hockey or you can't evaluate talent or you can't read the pages and pages of scouting reports. So which is it Andrew Amerk. Can't watch, read or analyze (hope you're not blind)? Like many have said, the whole goal of the tank was to ensure Eichel. I've trained myself to like his franchise story even more. A boon for USA hockey after what has been a decade of strong national momentum, right here on display in Buffalo. Match this with all the work that Terry has done with the Harbor Center and the organization has done in attracting U-18 events here and this fantasy tale could very well end with a new Hockeytown USA.
  21. There's 3 games left. Let it go.
  22. Wow, that's just unexpected and great.
  23. Take care of business tonight and Monday becomes the all-important game. Fairly confident about CBJ on road (they are playing well) followed by PIT at home to end this awful season on a back to back. But Carolina. At home. Please, to the city that shouldn't even have an NHL franchise, let alone a Stanley Cup winning franchise: you owe us for 2006. We gave you a Cup. All we ask is for you to win (real terms).
