Putting out a 3rd line that tilts the ice in your favour and a 4th line that is more than just cross your fingers adequate helps everyone. As you say, they should have more gas in the tank later in games and later in the season.

I will be interested to see their performance when they slot back in. I am still not a fan of Bryson other than as a short term fill in. This scratching period should light a fire under Mule. He is a laid back guy but he must play with a higher sense of urgency and bring more edge.

I think the CHL will draw more young (16-19) talent than ever. Some good Canadian kids were going to the USHL or playing tier 2 Junior A to remain eligible. American prospects might want added exposure and competition by playing in the CHL.Tier 2 Junior A in Canada will not attract any real prospects, guys like Makar won’t have to play in the AJHL. I wonder if there was a possibility of having some USHL teams join the WHL. They already have a bunch of franchises in the Pacific Northwest.

More playoff experience and success than those guys combined. KO lucked into some serious success this spring but he wasn’t a factor. Hall will be remembered as the tank fruit who commanded the most tanks.

Also, CHL teams have a limit of 3 20 year olds.

I think the USHL may suffer, they were a good option for non CHL players. I also think more American kids will try the CHL for draft exposure. USports (Canadian version of NCAA) will lose guys, they were getting tons of ex CHL players. Overall, kids will have more options and a longer development path available to them.

I have no issue with the Rangers but I can understand their fans being over the top. The Leafs fans are the reason I passionately dislike the team. They are so delusional, Cup favourites every year, Matthews is a gimme to beat Gretzky and Ovi, Marner can win the Art Ross, Stolarz is a Vezina candidate and Berube for the Adams. There is even talk of Tanev making Team Canada at the Four Nations. A number 4D on average teams for an all star team. Maybe the logic is that Canada has no goaltending, so you plunk him in the crease with Binnington and he saves 10 shots himself.

They just beat another Vezina winner, keep it going. This is a good test of whether they are buying into Lindy’s tactics. They need to bring that intensity and win or lose, we will appreciate the effort.

He has even dropped the mitts to try and spark this team. He is always trying to get these guys going, leadership. Worth the money.

No need to buy, you can probably find them on the sidewalk.

On the goals side of things, Zach Hyman got 54 last year. I read somewhere that 45+ of those were within 6 feet of the net. While he got to the dirty areas and showed good hands, he wasn’t the architect of many plays and a lot of those goals were pretty greasy. He channeled his inner Tim Kerr.

Perreault might get a secondary assist if the goalie stopped Martin’s shot and Robert taps in the rebound. Secondary assist can be the driving force of a goal. Many assists are prettier than the goal. Gretzky would’ve had another Art Ross trophy if Dionne hadn’t scored more goals.

Watching Leafs vs Bruins somehow hoping no one wins, lol. Is it despicable to want to see Marchand cheap shot Matthews? Match his suspension to the time that Matthews is out of commission.

I like the idea of creating another roster spot. It could be used for a veteran goalie, 4th liner or a rotation of prospects. The NHLPA would like to see 32 more NHL jobs. If the 3rd best goalie is waiver exempt then a team has more options. Not sure how to change this but I don’t like Adam Fox types only wanting to sign with their favourite team. The more this goes on the more guys will see it as an option. You are 18-21 years old making a million per year, suck it up princess. Cutter Gauthier and Rutgers McGroarty are other examples of “entitled” kids. Go where you want as a UFA but prove that you belong in the NHL first and show some respect for the organization that drafted you. I think an IR guy should play in at least the last regular season game to be eligible for the first round. It’s just too fishy to miss 40-82 games and come back for game 1 of the playoffs. Smarter people than me can figure out how have some kind of cap restrictions in the playoffs.
