I see Novikov got a goal and 2 assists tonight for the Amerks. Mule had better watch out.

Good to hear. Imagine what a couple of years of strength training and growth will do.

Ovechkin pursuit of Gretzky career goal record

He still has a good shot but he is slow now, what will his speed be in two years? -
Peterka contact : Long-term or Bridge
French Collection replied to Buffalonill's topic in The Aud Club
Imagine if a team had the balls to sign only one year deals. Everyone would be performance paid, all of the time. You could have a team of 95% effort in an 80% league. You would have to be a winning team in order for people to want to sign there. Back to reality. I think I am in the bridge camp. KA is near the max for long term deals. I like Mule but I think he jumped the gun on that one. Maybe he locks up 15 guys for 7 years so they are together forever. I like Quinn more but I would be leary to offer him a long term deal this early. What do I know, maybe locking them all up long term in today’s dollars with a rising cap is a great strategy. -
The only way he should be around is if there is a meaningful back to back game. He and Rochester will benefit from another stint and hopefully some playoff heroics to build his resume. I don’t think his confidence needs a boost but the reps will help.

This captures the majority of their season.

Ovechkin pursuit of Gretzky career goal record

I know what you are saying but I still prefer Gretzky. We are having a Russian kid stay with us for the summer. His hockey season is over but his visa is good for a while and he doesn’t want to go back. -
At what point does he realize that Malkin and Letang haven’t kept up? He’s put that team on his back in the last few games.

I am in Gretzky’s camp. It’s political but Ovechkin seeming to be cozy with Putin rubs me the wrong way. -
How Good Do You Think Zac Benson Will Be?

I’ll tighten up the parameters to Mats Naslund or Mark Recchi. -
Maybe no one has explained to him that in the playoffs you don’t pay the players so you can keep all of the income from the first series all the way to the end.

So much for the emergence of Buffalo, Ottawa and probably Detroit.

They need to have a sense of urgency to get at least a point, even in October. A couple of those points and they are in the thick of this, as unlikely as it seems for a .500 team.
-
This is something I can get behind. The skill guys will play tougher with a few gritty guys around. The grit guys will bang a few in when promoted to a skill line.
-
The Islanders and their 15 loser points. The Sabres lost a lot of close games in regulation, I hope they realize how valuable even one point is.
-
Depth and goaltending are their biggest question marks imo. Their top guys could carry them through. I thought I read Evander Kane was scratched or benched last game. He must be up to his old tricks or the coach is trying to fire him up for the playoffs.

I know. I was entertained and that is why I watch. It’s just frustrating how they do that and then s**t the bed the very next game. Oh well, they will be 7 months older per player in October, does that help? -
