Baptiste has had a slow start to the season (17 pts in 19 games). He is not in mid season form due to his shoulder injury in September. He should fare better in the New Year when McDavid returns to Erie and they make a run for the Memorial Cup. He is a bit of a late bloomer and has not played for Hockey Canada at every level. He is still a good prospect and good be a 2nd or 3rd liner in Buffalo. As has been previously stated, that would be a steal for his draft position. He turned 19 in August so there s still lots of time.

Sudbury news reporting Nick Baptiste traded to Erie Otters for a package of 2 players and draft picks. Excited to see him perform with McDavid, Strome and the rest.

I think the idea is to give Sam a taste of the regular season and let him down easy with an improvement plan for next season. He didn't seem to stand out and was weak on face offs, which Grigo was decent at. Hopefully Grigo has the fire in his belly and proves he deserves to be up. With the NHL stint and the WJC Sam will only play about 40 games in the WHL, it won't feel like a year.
