I like Tim. No beating around the bush. Interesting interviews, says things I've never heard GM's say. Passionate about hockey and scouting. Strong work ethic, could be due to a farming family background. Needs more time to be judged, body of work of 5 years is probably enough.

I wouldn't use the word choke, it's more like a lack of engagement. I believe there are a number of reasons: The Stanley Cup is not what they grow up wanting to win. Olympics and World Championships are more important. The pay cheques stop at season's end and they don't understand why you need to play harder and not get paid. Many other players find another gear, give 110%, play through pain that would sideline them in the regular season and block shots with any body part during the playoffs. These other guys don't get it, while not getting paid. I'm not sure what the bonus is for winning the Cup, but it's probably a fraction of annual salary. The playoffs are usually tighter checking and more intense physically, not their games. That's all I've got off the top of my head, but there are probably more.

Ironic that Lindros' wife is from Quebec and he bought a fishing lodge on Lake Kipawa in Northern Quebec. He also refused to report to Sault Ste Marie in the OHL when they drafted him. Forced to trade his rights to Oshawa. Good player but I view him as a baby as well.

Budik playing with Guhle got him a lot of views. Our scouts would have good Intel on him.

Lots of 18 year old goalies went undrafted this weekend. Let them go back to junior, NCAA or Europe and develop into something we can sign, draft or trade for over the coming year. I'm sure GMTM had his eye on a few but they went earlier. Maybe next year there will be one or two worth drafting.

I didn't really see Pysyk as our 3-4 D. Kulikov will be top 4, some of it due to being left handed. That's why the trade is an upgrade, plus Asplund was the last 1st rounder on GMTM's list.

I wonder if MODO has any info on this guy. We'll have more in the fall when he plays in the NCAA.

The league he played in is around Ottawa, GMTM would have lots of contacts in those rinks and probably watched him a few times when he was visiting family.

I wanted D as well but BPA was Alex on GMTM's list. I like the options we have for his development, The skill level of our top six will be awesome. We will also be able to split talent on three lines. Let's get Vesey done soon.

We may actually be able to draft a player better than Cam Fowler. It may take 4-5 years to get there, and 2 years just to make the team. It depends on our time frame, and if we have a prospect or 2 who can be in our top 4.

Windsor is one of the only OHL teams I did not see this year, I wish I did. He sounds like a future 1-2 LHD. Crush those Leaf smurfs!!

I'm not a fan of picking Nylander, mainly because of my dislike for his brother (Wilhelmina). I don't hate the kid, just his team and the fact that he looks like a 16 year old girl. However, the dynamic in the building, with those thousands of Leafs supporters there, would be awesome.
