Went to watch Pu tonight in North Bay. I'm impressed, excellent skater and puck handler. 1st line, PK and PP. Takes key face offs too. That's a good 3rd round pick.

Curious to watch Baptiste. Watched him a lot in junior and he was fast with a good shot. He won't get premium ice time tonight but he could have a few solid shifts. I do like Fasching's work so far, big body down low. I can see why L.A. drafted him. If he gets a bit more aggressive on thee forecheck there will be some nervous d-men when he is on the ice.

GMTM may have a plan to dump Moulson on Vegas. Play him on the PP, hope he scores 30.

Agreed, the only way we have a problem is if Lehner gets hurt and Ullmark shines for an extended period of time.

I find that Olympic hockey is a better tournament. Creating a team Europe and team North America creates more competitive teams, but it's tough to cheer for them without a flag. As a hockey fan, I will watch because it's always interesting to see the best lace them up. It must be summertime because our Canadian media has not been beating their chests over this.

The word loan is probably used to keep their fan base from breaking out the tar and feathers.

Yeah, doesn't really make sense to me. What about the reverse scenario, lots of teams adopt NHL names. I guess that could be seen as a form of advertising. Imagine if every Tykes/Squirts team had to pay to use their favorite names.

I think he'll be in better shape, but it will be a challenge for ice time, we have more depth than previous years. He needs to work hard and wait for a break. Okposo would be upset if we get rid of him ASAP.

I wouldn't use the word choke, it's more like a lack of engagement. I believe there are a number of reasons: The Stanley Cup is not what they grow up wanting to win. Olympics and World Championships are more important. The pay cheques stop at season's end and they don't understand why you need to play harder and not get paid. Many other players find another gear, give 110%, play through pain that would sideline them in the regular season and block shots with any body part during the playoffs. These other guys don't get it, while not getting paid. I'm not sure what the bonus is for winning the Cup, but it's probably a fraction of annual salary. The playoffs are usually tighter checking and more intense physically, not their games. That's all I've got off the top of my head, but there are probably more.
