  1. KA probably hasn’t even thought of that.
  2. I like this kid. As many of us wanted a trade, there is some disappointment but this guy is projected as a 2-3C with an all round game. It doesn’t help us now but this guy is closer to the NHL than most picked before him. He has decent size and will be playing his second full season vs men. He also made the Finnish men’s team at the Worlds. He didn’t get much ice time but he was good enough to make it.
  3. That is the coolest place I’ve seen for an event like this.
  4. Yes, because I just took another dose of hopium.
  5. Coleman could be available too. Kadri has won his Cup, Calgary in a rebuild. Buffalo is near London and need a 2-3C.
  6. Craig Button on Sabres Live brought him up as someone Buffalo could get.
  7. Who’s next, Robinson?
  8. TSN’s Craig Button with a long winded story of Stamkos going to UFA. He says the best fit would be Buffalo. He could be a complimentary offensive piece that has immediate credibility upon entering the dressing room. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/button-stamkos-will-have-a-lot-of-offers-tampa-wont-be-able-to-r~2948242 This would help attract the bottom six guys as well.
  9. Or take a serious run at Stamkos.
  10. I know I would take him over Hughes. Points are sexy and win Norris trophies but there is more to playing defense.
  11. Here’s something that I want to see motivate Dahlin to have a big year. Sweden named its first six players for the upcoming 4 Nations tournament. Three of them are Dmen and he is not included. Hedman, Karlsson and Forsling. Draft mate Hughes winning the Norris should also light a fire under him.
  12. Surely KA makes a move of some kind today. Teams are re-signing guys that were potential UFAs, trades are moving pieces the Sabres could have used. Eastern rivals have improved their lineups to be playoff contenders. It almost feels like a game of musical chairs where Kevyn is the one left standing every time. Meanwhile, the Sabres accumulate draft capital.
  13. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/masters-michael-brandsegg-nygard-hopes-hard-hitting-game-leads-to-history-for-norway-at-nhl-draft-1.2141129 Brandsegg-Nygard interview with TSN. Said he always liked Ovie. He was told his game was like Kreider so he started watching him and does find similarities.
  14. Sounds like we need to start a revolution.
  15. Yes, and this year seems to have more guys who could go top 10. 11 was obviously a better pick but 3 spots is not a game changer imo. Dominoes are falling but KA still has his assets and now one more. I hope he lands something of substance in a trade. I might even lose my s**t if he rolls back Krebs and Jost.
  16. At 11 I know someone from the top 10 will drop. My wording was that at 14 you hope someone from the top 10 drops. Benson lasted until 13.
  17. He sounds like he wants a guarantee to be in the NHL and not the AHL. He might not like competing with Savoie, Kulich, Östlund, Rosen, Neuchev and Wahlberg.
  18. The worst case is no one wants to trade with him, UFAs won’t sign so he is running it back and adding more prospects. My guess is he moves a second and a prospect.
  19. So 14 is where you hope one of the “top 10” drop. You could get an Helenius, Eiserman, Sennecke, Yakemchuk or Brandsegg-Nygard. Or you could reach a bit for Jiricek, Stolberg, Beaudoin.
  20. Lafferty is a UFA 4th liner to consider. Former Blackhawk so they will probably sign him.
  21. With Buium, Eiserman, Helenius, Brandsegg-Nygard and Yakemchuk still on the board? This guy is a former NHL director of scouting but this mock certainly had some surprises.
  22. I went with Levi and Quinn.
  23. KA is big game hunting. I still prefer a Cirelli, Bennett or Stephenson as a C and their contracts are less than what Necas probably wants.
  24. I collected hockey cards from 1971 until 1980. Got a Gretzky rookie from a wax pack. I got back into it when the boom was on. I collected a lot of the new stuff but was keen on completing my sets from the 70’s. I sold quite a few cards and sets but have hung onto my complete sets of OPC 71/72 and 72/73. Those ones mean the most to me because of the memories of walking to the corner store with some change and getting a few packs. The checklists are marked, some players have moustaches drawn on their faces, some cards have creases or pin holes from thumb tacks but I remember what every one of them looks like and I used to know most of the player’s stats too. I even remember how I got some in trades. We didn’t know the value of them or how rookie cards worked. Otherwise I wouldn’t have traded a Ken Dryden rookie card for a Gilles Marotte. I needed it, had two Drydens and completing the set was what mattered.
