He's very different. He came in on the business side, observed, and made recommendations to gut it. He then helped do the same to the hockey department. He gained the Pegula's trust, and has assurances he will be given the time to see his vision succeed.

Every article I see reads like Rutherford fired him after "evaluating our Hockey Operations department", his direct quote. Fired October 26th, 2020, Rutherford resigned January 28th. It may have been a part of why he resigned, but not THE reason. It does seem they are very close personally.

I would love to see Fleury in blue and gold, always one of the best dressed and has good takes on equipment and designs. Oh, he's also a good goalie and would be perfect as that "bridge" guy for a few years.
