That's not funny. That's FANTASTIC! I loved that. Boehner pushing smokes on Obama really cracked me up. And 11:30am beers! Yes!

Just saw Orpik's interview on the suspension. Had trouble focusing on what he was saying because HE HAS VAMPIRE TEETH!!! Not even kidding.

We all know the Leafs haven't even gotten to the finals since it was a 6-team league. During the first half of this period, Harold Ballard was a very disruptive owner and successfully managed to thwart any opportunities the Leafs may have had to return to relevance. He was famous for having a 100% no exceptions policy that the Leafs would never have a Russian in their organization. Then he died in 1990 and the Leafs got a Russian player practically before rigor mortis even set in. Thus was born the Curse of Harold Ballard. Harold Ballard was one of the most miserable SOB's of all time, and not even death can stop his vengeful force of will. Never doubt the Curse of Harold Ballard. It has served us well over the years, and it will continue to do so. Of this I have no doubt!- 456 replies

Jeez, people. I hate the Leafs as much as anyone, but get over it. This doesn't undo any of the great strides we have made the last two years as an organization. Take a deep breath, watch the Caps/Pens game, and get some sleep. Besides, Matthews is a coke fiend.- 456 replies

Yes, an absolute copyright infringing reboot of The Honeymooners. Of course, you could argue that every sit-com that ever was builds off of what The Honeymooners did.

Good. I realize I'm probably in the minority here, but I do not want NHL'ers in the 2018 Olympics in Korea. Attendance will be minimal. Viewership will be minimal (at least in North America) due to time differences. Jet lag will be brutal for players returning to the NHL afterwards. It's not worth it. If it's in NA or Europe, great, sign me up. But it's not.

NCAA Lacrosse update: UNC trailed #1 Notre Dame 14-9 in the 4th quarter and came back to beat them 17-15 to take the ACC regular season title. ND had not allowed double digit goals all season until today.

Flyers and their fans: yes, they are still repulsive

Hilarious! -
Here's a scathing anti-Ted Cruz piece. It's meant to be more funny than politically grounded. http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2016/04/an-intricately-detailed-scientific-explanation-of.html Here's my favorite excerpt:

Loan Shark Beer!!! I know it's Land Shark, but my stepmom called it Loan Shark once, so now we all call it Loan Shark. -
off topic What I do to reduce my environmental footprint...

I work at home so I'm down to ~5000 miles driving per year (more than half of which are bi-annual trips to Niagara peninsula). I can't sleep unless I'm cold, so 58 at night in winter, 76 at night in summer. Running AC at night costs less than running it in day time, so starting the day at 76 and then going to 80 usually means the AC won't kick back on until after lunch. I recycle everything, but I generate a lot of beer cans. I have looked into getting kegs instead, but it seems to actually cost more than the cans. I also eat beef more than I should. I think pork is roughly half as bad environmentally, and chicken only 1/4 as bad. Oh, yeah, and open those windows! If my heat is on at 64 and it gets over 64 outdoors, I open every window unless it's raining. -
And they keep knocking on my door trying to "save" me! Can you imagine if a Flyers fan knocked on your door and interrupted what you were doing to tell you that if you don't become a Flyers fan you'll go to Hell? That's what it feels like to me.

Just remember they're 6 hours ahead.

Maybe it's a bit early for this type of speculation, but does anyone think that when all the smoke clears on the Dem side that Hillary will pick Bernie as VP? I can't think of a better way to ensure the maximum amount of party unity going into the general election.

George Mason University renamed their Law School to the Antonin Scalia School of Law. That's right. ASSOL. Kind of fitting if you ask me. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/04/06/473228688/plan-for-antonin-scalia-school-of-law-is-tweaked-over-unfortunate-acronym

I'm watching the NJ feed. They just had a commercial for the NJ Lottery. Their slogan? "Remember, anything can happen in New Jersey!" That is such a horrible slogan on so many levels but I busted out laughing.

I applaud PayPal for doing this. I hope more companies follow suit. Hopefully this is the first step in the demise of the GOP super majority in our state legislature here in NC.

They should be relegated down to the AHL.

This SS# validation might be a good idea, although I burned my SS card decades ago. I don't need the card to remember my SS#, and don't want it getting into the wrong hands. I would imagine we're getting there, but if the process gets outsourced to any company in any way, then this idea makes me really nervous.

Well, making all bathrooms unisex would never go over with women, simply because us guys always piss on the seat.

You also have to take into account what happens without this legislation. Let's take the case of a genetic male who identifies as female. He's been taking hormones for years. He really looks like a woman, real tits and all, wearing a nice dress. He's actually pretty hot. He walks into a men's bathroom because he hasn't had the surgery yet. This is probably not an ideal situation for anyone in that bathroom. If he goes to the lady's room, no problem. Saying, "Oh we're afraid this legislation will allow perverts to go wild." is the same type of strawman used by the right to justify voter restrictions/ID laws. There was no voter fraud, and there won't be any more perverts than there are today. It's all about fear. The right is trying to turn us into a nation of wimps. They're afraid of terrorists, so then we gave up much of our rights to privacy. They're afraid of LGBT, so they fight LGBT rights even when the youth of this generation are fine with it. And they fight it even when big business says don't do that or we'll take our business elsewhere. They're afraid of Muslims, so we need to restrict civil liberties and patrol their neighborhoods. They're afraid of losing gun rights, so they obstruct and vilify every attempt to bring some sanity to gun laws. I said it upthread, the right/GOP can't go on like this. They are making a sucker play to try to go back to the Nixon era. At this point, they are like that guy that we all know who gambles on college football on Saturday and loses, then bets NFL on Sunday and loses, and then makes a big bet on Monday night to try to break even. This is going to blow up in their faces. I'm not necessarily saying this 2016 election is going to cripple the GOP, but they are well on their way to committing political suicide for future election cycles.
