  1. I don't think it's dread. It's indifference. Which is worse.
  2. There's nothing left to say. It's past the point of no return with the current people in charge.
  3. I spent the night rooting for the Sabres and NY Jets. I need a chemical bath.
  4. 30 minutes played, 8 shots on goal. Sabres are the only team in the NHL playing in a dead-puck era.
  5. Six goals?!?!?! I'll take it!
  6. Matt Ellis.
  7. The Sabres do have injuries, but they are made worse because Adams has built a roster of costly non-contributors, who have not stepped up. Adams signed an injury-prone Greenway to a $4M extension this past offseason. Greenway has been injured more than half the year (surprise) and has no goals in the games he's played. He signed Quinn to a $3M+ contract this offseason. Quinn has 1 point the last 5 games. He signed Byram to a $6M+ contract this offseason. Byram's defensive play has been subpar. Krebs was a key component in the Eichel trade. He has no goals this season, and only 3 points in 16 games. Kesselring, a key part of the Peterka trade, has no points in 7 games. Adams traded for Norris, who's injury history should be written on a literal red flag. Unsurprisingly Norris has only played 2 periods this year. He costs almost $8M against the cap. Adams extended UPL for almost $5M per year. UPL is being outplayed by a rookie and journeyman. Tuch, Thompson, and Power need to step up, but the team is also weighed down by the almost $25M of cap space Adams has wasted on non-contributing roster additions. There are no excuses for Adams.
  8. No experienced GM would have looked at that roster and said "we need a rebuild." Adams, a pencil-pusher with no front office or scounting experience sold Terry on an unnecessary rebuild that will probably set the franchise back a decade. A smart, experienced GM, instead, would have fixed the coaching situation and bolstered the secondary scoring and defensive issues with affordable vets. Terry's unwillingness to hire a experienced GM has sent us all into hockey hell.
  9. We seem to have found Kevyn's ceiling as a GM.
  10. Allen was sabotaged by the gameplan today. It's obvious that the only plan was to be more physical than the Dolphins. When Miami pushed back, there was nothing in the playcalling, scheme, or personnel to help him.
  11. They could use way more misdirection play action, especially with the way they ran the ball last week. They could run the ball out of shotgun formation. That would slow the pass rush down and ease pressure on Allen. The could more middle of the field routes for Shakir. There are things Brady could do with play calls and play design. I get they want to build a physical mindset, but the strategy can't only be that Brady calls the same plays over and over, and the team wins on physicality alone.
  12. He's shortened the playbook and become predictable. If Allen is under center, it most likely going to be a run. If Allen is in shotgun, it's definitely a pass. The run/pass ratio on 1st down leans heavily to the run. He was never good at scheming WRs open (both Diggs' and Davis' production dractically fell off when he became OC), and shows almost no imagination in freeing up receivers (for example, there are no digs or WR post routes in the playbook). His playcalling is stubborn. Today on 4th and 1, Miami called a timeout and it was obvious Buffalo was planning a pass. Even though the play was tipped, Brady didn't change the call. Miami knew these tendencies and gameplanned against them, and Brady did not adjust. He's gone from a potential HC candidate to a hot seat candidate this season.
  13. When the Sabres get me down, I remind myself that Eric Staal is in the front office, and that means that none of this s### makes any sense. And I guess that makes me feel a little better.
  14. 99.9% of NHL franchise owners aren't hockey guys.
  15. My suggestion is to fire Adams. Same as it has been since 2021.
  16. UPL looked surprised that there was a guy in front of the net.
  17. Its been bad GM'ing since the day Adams was hired. I'll never forgive Pegula for wasting my time these last six years with this clod Adams. Hang around for the intermission....
  18. Can we just put the math chick back on?
  19. Yeah, after the whistle blows, the PA announcer says, "Hey everybody, look over there, it's JJ Peterka. He's here tonight. Thank you and try the pizza logs."
  20. I don't know what you call it, but Benson, Doan, Kesselring, and Krebs are RFAs next season. Tuch is a UFA. Keeping all these players probably requires moving other contracts (Greenway, Quinn, UPL, Byram/Power). Moving on from Tuch means trading a contributor before the trade deadline, probably for draft picks because the cap space will be needed for the RFAs. Roster decisions need to be made, whether they are considered a retool or rebuild.
