Latest... Miller to St. Louis for Rattie, Halak and a 1st round pick. I would say "BIG" would be...Miller to St. Louis AND Moulson to LA...BOTH TOMORROW! ;)

Mine would be...if you wait and he gets hurt in the Olympics...who would trade for him before the deadline, or at all? I heard it mentioned by someone on the radio the other day...if Buffalo waits, and Miller gets hurt, they are 100% screwed.

He actually did ask what Enroth's value is right now...lol. On a serious note...why is everyone talking about Hackett and Ullmark, and not Makarov...as far as I'm concerned, he is our best prospect as far as goaltending goes...is he not? I am completely on board with giving Enroth the entire 2014-2015 season to prove himself...IF Miller is dealt for a good return. Otherwise, I'd re-sign Miller...and try to trade Enroth, allowing Hackett to back up Miller...and Ullmark/Makarov taking over in Rochester. I know I will get eaten alive for this line of thinking...but, I think it is possible. Grigorenko, Girgensons, Ennis, Foligno, Armia, Ristolainen, Zadorov, Myers, McCabe, Pysyk...is a nice group. Add to that, Reinhart, Dal Colle or Draisaitl in 2014, and McDavid or Eichel in 2015...that's a great foundation to build on. Then add Ryan Callahan in the summer of 2014 and Patrick Kane in this summer of 2015? That's the making of a contender. Plus there is plenty of talent in the goalie ranks...and still extras like Compher, Bailey and Baptiste to work with. (Might have to trade some decent pieces to NYR and CHI just for the rights to negotiate with those guys...but I do think it is possible, especially with what Murray and PLF said about "homegrown talent." Not to mention, once you get Callahan in here and a possible #1 overall pick, it will make it easier to get Kane to come back home.) Anything is possible...more so now, than ever before in Buffalo...especially with who we have running the show. I know it is a longshot for those guys to even make it to free agency, but if they do, Buffalo has as good a shot at landing them as anyone else in the league...especially if they start turning this thing around the right way. I am sure those two would love to come play for two Hall of Famers and help turnaround their childhood/hometown team. Ok, I woke up...dream over.

I agree, and took it the same way. "We are already 1/2 - 3/4 of the way there, why not finish it? We have people who have been a part of it already before (Patrick). We have loads of draft picks and prospects, and the best way for us to get elite talent is in the draft. Once we get it, it becomes easier to get the Free Agents (especially the ones from the area, ie: Cally & Kane) to come to Buffalo and play with said elite players. At that point we can use the extra pieces to bring in proven talent and put us over the top. This is the best way to ensure we are competitive every year, not competing for 8th place and mediocrity." (That is how I interpreted it.) I think the best way to look at this...Murray would rather bottom-out and trade these assets for pieces to have a chance at TWO "Elite" players in the drafts ('14 & '15), than dump younger pieces for veterans to chase 8th place this/next year. And I am fully, 100%, on board with this idea...it is time we get something to be proud of, on and off the ice...year in, year out. On with the tank...

The difference in why he might look "lanky," is quite simple...they are grown men, he is still a kid. They have had a number of years in an NHL weight room, Grigorenko has not. (This kid needs time to develop his game, and it is not being afforded to him...on the worst team in the NHL.)

Was the Knick envelope frozen making it cold to the touch, once again making it easy for Stern to choose correctly? * I have thought a lot about this scenario, and the NHL helping their buddies Pegula and Lafontaine!(and now, Patrick.)

I am so excited, and I know my Father is partying tonight...up in heaven. <3 My Pops passed away on June 18th, 2008...just shortly before the Sabres drafted Tyler Myers and Tyler Ennis. (My name is Tyler) My Father was a business man, he lived in Pennsylvania, he loved Penn State...his name was Terry, he is buried in his Sabres attire. I believe it is destined to happen...and I believe the odds got that much better today, and we are on our way! And when it happens, I will cry my eyes out...as it will be the most bitter-sweet moment of my entire life. (Some of my Father's last words to me were about how he could not stop thinking about how he would never get to see the Sabres play for a Cup, let alone another game, at all.) But, I know he is watching now... ;)
