  1. That thing is hideous.
  2. I really don't see it being feasible. While Stamkos is an elite player and someone that you can instantly sell your fan base on, the depth in the system isn't that which can afford giving up higher end assets. Reinhart, Eichel and Ristolainen should be untouchable. So unless the group of Ennis, O'Reilly or someone in that range as a center piece makes sense I doubt it happens. You are probably better off trying to get him in UFA than you are in a trade offer. Keeping the first round pick is also important as the team continues to build around the core group. Stamkos is great, and only 25, but I'd personally rather trade for a Drew Doughty, Seth Jones, Roman Josi, type. Someone who is in their prime or near prime that will both fill the void at elite puck handling and provide stalwart defense on the back end. Chicago needs Toews and Kane, but would not have won if they did not have Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook. Call me crazy, but I would gladly take the next Hedman before I would take the next Stamkos.
  3. Keep feeding O'Reilly and Eichel the puck, and continued improvement from Reinhart! More McCabe/Pysyk and less Weber and Franson!
  4. Very well said X. We're competing, but still a step behind the elite teams. The defense is still a bit behind the mark of course. You cannot fault Murray and Bylsma too much for that. You can only fix so much within one off-season. Just keep going!
  5. It's still early enough in the year to not really worry about this. The team is playing much better than they were last year. The team has expectations again, but you don't go from 30th in almost every category to a playoff team IMO. They are playing in a new structure and with the fluidity of the lines and changes that Bylsma is structuring it is understandable for a lack of knowing where players are on the ice. However, I really do find it comforting that they are trying new schemes within the structure to make things spark. Too many times last year were players in one role and not diversifying. GO SABRES!
  6. Time to waive Johnson and sign Martin Biron.
  7. Gorgeous feed to Moulson!
  8. It seemed like everything they worked hard on went to bed at the 25-33 mark of the game. The PK definitely didn't help things and Johnson just fell to ashes. He's really not great. Ullmark come in and steal the job until Lehner comes back.
  9. Honestly I'd take Nolan everyday and twice on Sunday before I'd hire that idiot. Let's take a transition speed team and make them a physical team that blocks pucks. Because Daniel and Henrik Sedin scream physical play. :D
  10. Tortorella has a new gig and automatically he's the worst coach in the NHL at once. His style hasn't been relevant since 2004-05. Sorry Sir, you suck.
  11. Love this response! Haha!
  12. Now this is a good test to see how the team is progressing. They've played well in portions against an elite team in Tampa Bay. However, facing Price ...now that's the test! Looking forward to watch Eichel and O'Reilly.
  13. Honestly, what a load of rubbish. There hasn't even been 10 games into the season. Albeit, he has one goal and not any other point totals to write home about. It was but a game or two ago that Sidney Crosby had his first. Just as an exceeding example. Getzlaf and Perry aren't exactly lighting the world on fire as well. This is just a trash article with baseless analysis. Kane has played about as well away from the puck as you can on the PK and while his shots haven't gone in everything I've watched has been exciting.
  14. Really liking the play of McCabe with Pysyk. Now if there was a little more showing on the stat line that would be great. Otherwise they look solid. Bogosian coming back soon will make this team that much better!
  15. One would assume that means Ullmark is making a trip up to Buffalo, unless something more mysterious is in the works.
  16. That was awesome! The look on the Wild players face is priceless!
  17. Lol, oh the chuckles! The pace is not even close, obviously. But, the personnel are also unanimously better. It's like jumping from the AHL to the NHL it's a completely different structure, roster, and coaching staff. Your analogy is perfect!
  18. Well written. To me they were playing East/West as well as they were North/South. The creativity was evident. Barkov with the dish right infront of Johnson was spot on!
  19. With regards to Ullmark, I feel that the Sabres are best suited to let him play meaningful minutes and get his game back up to par. He's been very impressive so far in the AHL, but we have been teased before. It's the contrary argument that I've been making for Sam Reinhart, but I feel with goalies, they especially off of a drastic surgery should just be given time to consistently get reps. For the time being Lieuwen and Ocho can handle the load.
  20. It is a shame about a player like Franzen experiencing this situation again. He's at an age where he's won a cup and while ending your career via injury is a terrible injustice on your career, you do need to weigh that versus your ability for future health.
  21. Jagr at 43 is still a beast. I was purely in awe! It helps when you play with good young talent in Barkov and Huberdeau. They fell behind and then came back. It's alright.
  22. Hiller is who I want if the price is right.
  23. +1, he's still amazing, but he's at the end of his illustrious career. Give him some credit. Yeah the Yikel thing is annoying, but he's still one of the best!
  24. Hey look its Hulk-a-racist, but I had to post it!
  25. It would take a hefty overpay. I don't see him as a piece they'd want to move just because. Krug, Pastrnak and Bergeron are pretty much non-starters I would think.
