For what it's worth Colorado really lost a lot of their depth when Stastny left. Trading O'Reilly is really similar to a classic baseball trade. You have your identified player "Zadorov" and lottery boom or bust type in "Grigorenko" and your stable up the middle talent "Compher" along with a draft pick. A mix bag of stuff to replace the best player involved in the deal. It was a win win move!

Sundowner's Place. Definitely a scintillating choice! Just north of the border.

Jesse Puljujarvi (Fin) would be a pretty stellar consolation prize if you miss out on the top 2. Based on early peeks he looks like a better prospect than Mikko Rantanen.
-
My roundabout thinking says Tyler Ennis. I just see him shooting his way into three goals. It could easily be Kane when he's back or Eichel/O'Reilly.

I like Chychrun but Matthews just looks special. He could easily push Moulson down and start in the top 6 immediately. I like Chychrun's game though. The Sabres may have better luck being a tweener at the draft lottery than as the worst team in the league. Opposites attract :P

Okay, I now think we can say ###### YEAH! This was the best played hockey game, albeit misses consistently on shots at the net on the PP that this team has played in almost 3 years. I drank so much! God, this team without Kane and Ennis and Bogosian was rocking last night. Ryan O'Reilly, you're worth every dime! Eichel with the stretch/glide into the sweet shot. I felt bad for Neuvy for a moment because he's a really underrated goalie, but man Leenus "Linus" Ullmark, you showed up! Crisp transition work, the pass off the wall from Foligno into ROR to a driving Deslauriers. Traditional top line, hell no! BUFFALO ROCKS! Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever....NEVER to see the Ice againe! I liked his Koopa mask last season better personally. The only thing that I hated was the Gorges hit on Read from behind in the third period. I was like....really that was pointless. Bad form Gorgeous Josh! -

Jack Eichel you're on notice for being 18...and fans not realizing that you're still over extending in certain aspects of your game. Oh there are O'Reilly haters from other franchises. On other sites its pretty evident :D- 495 replies

I'm not saying that Moulson is a bad player. The speed is lacking in his game, which unfortunately is a disservice to his ability when putting him with Eichel or O'Reilly in my opinion. He should be playing with someone consistently. Instead of all this line jumbling. Disco Dan is known for his "dancing his lines". I never noticed that when he coached Pittsburgh, though admittedly I loathe that franchise. -

The games are very enjoyable to say the least. Can we make a fantasy trade and add someone with more grit and speed than Moulson?!? One can only hope. We need to get Bogosian back into the line up as soon as possible! -

The only things I would switch is to put Zemgus and Larsson in the Like and Carlo in the Hate. Ryan O'Reilly's haters before this season can eat a giant can of ***** fill in whatever word you'd like. He's already the heart and soul of this team. Ristolainen played a heck of a game and for a change I didn't hate Legwand's play. I liked Deslauriers and McGinn has gotten his act together. It was much tighter than I thought it would be. 51 to 29 SOG, is quite a nice stat, though it was in a loss. Kane's injury sucks. I want to see less of Moulson/Gionta and more of the grit and speed. This season has been so much more enjoyable than last year.- 495 replies

Johnson with the save of the game after the bad match up with Deslauriers taking a draw. LOL -

Johnson is looking very Ryan Milleresque. Eichel looks amazing sometimes, but he looks so young in his own zone. -

It's time for Eiceinsson to dominate! Get at it, boys! I am so going to watch this game! Eichel v Giroux! I love it! -

Poile is such a savvy GM. Ekholm gets extended at the right cost and keeps this team's defense stacked for years to come.
-
He could still develop (Hurley), some players take four years of college to develop properly. It's not an encouraging pick, but honestly the worst pick so far has been Cornel to me. I'm baffled by that selection. Olofsson and Possler may have more upside than Bailey and Baptiste. (Still too early to tell).

+1 On Eichel. Pysyk is NOT on the same level of talent as Reinhart.
-
Via Corey Pronmon on Twitter This is alone something to be somewhat optimistic about. The Sabres have out shot their opponents in 6 of 8 games. It's taking the little things out of life!

It looked like a pull, but it could be the classic "LBI", week to week nonsense. When he got up and at least was skating on it with even the slightest strength, my stomach unhinged at least 20% lighter. Still a major disheartening moment.
