Im interested in Despres as much as I am Fowler. Note that Lindholm would be the optimum talent to acquire, but Despres does a lot on both sides of the puck.
-
Age, contract, shot selection. I know he was knicked up last year, but I just don't buy him for the next two years. I'd rather resign the Ristolainen and see what that looks like than add 7.8M for a guy on the wrong side of 30, who I don't have faith in.

Bailey could play as early as next season. He just had to work on small things, he has pro speed and size/shot. Pujuljarvi is so undervalued, and his speed would be so mesmerizing next to Eichel. If there was a Zemgus or Ennis, Foligno and #8 to get Puljujarvi, you laugh to the bank. I love Zemgus, but he has a very similar game to Larsson.

Jesus, **** no. This is the trade target that is an absolute hard line "No!" for me. Unless they take Moulson, pass!
-
Didn't he have a deadline to pass, and if he didn't sign he goes to UFA. Or am I pulling this out of my @$$.
-
Sounds like it True. I just avoid malls! Online shopping is where it's at!
-
I think so. Pujuljarvi is about as tantalizing a prospect as there is in this draft.
-
I concur, and there's no way to know what will and won't happen. I still believe 100% that we'll end up with a D, unless there's some unexpected move no one sees coming.
-
I'm definitely leaving Ennis unprotected, has a lot of skill and just hasn't found his way into the top six to make the impact you need. I'm ready to move on from Ennis, Gorges, and Moulson for sure.
-
Las Vegas is a terrible market for the NHL. I think its going to be a magnanimous flop. Quebec City was the better market for hockey going forward. But, I understand their fear with having too many teams north of the US. We'll see. Take Moulson, Gorges, etc :)
-
Shrugs, was any of that truly shocking news.
-
It's really a shame that Quebec City didn't get more of a realistic shot. Posting those types of fees and having a building ready to go, is a shame. The Nordiques were a model franchise back in the mid 80's into the 90's.

That's awesome! My brother in law has it, I am very supportive of it too!
-
Aho will be an interesting guy in the third round tier. All about taking a shot on Finnish players :D!
-
He fits all the boxes for a Murray type of pick. He came across as very humble and motivated. I really do like quite a few of the D in the class, Bean has a lot of attributes that would be great for the Sabres. It's going to be an interesting draft for sure.
-
Exactly. Just like I really love McAvoy, if we had the dearth of LHD, I'd so take him at 8. He's smart, reads the play well and has hockey IQ.
-
It would be in the right circumstance, again he could go at the tail end of the first round, or could fall into the top of the third. It's wide opened. I wouldn't be too aggressive. But I like him, as I like a few others in that range. You got me hooked into the idea of Dineen in the 2nd.
-
I was happy for Dupuis, Hagelin, and a few others. That's about it. I wanted the Sharks to win so badly. But, w/e. Onto the offseason!
-
Asplund is my personal guy that could be the steal of the draft in the 2nd to 3rd round range. I love what I've seen.
-
Keith Yandle, Kris Russell (maybe if the price is right), Alex Goligoski in that order on LHD. Steven Stamkos, Frans Nielsen, David Perron, Andrew Ladd, Jamie McGinn, Kyle Okposo, maybe Boedker or Lucic. Shrugs very uninspiring UFA crop. But, you will have a bulk/dearth of trading options.
-
Well that's good, its over with, now the offseason can commence. I loathe the Pittsburgh Penguins, but Congrats, you earned it. Ready for the draft and to see what Tim Murray does to blow our expectations out of the water this offseason!
-
A lot of boards/mock have him tumbling. Which is completely retarded considering he did well at the combine and seems to be a strong interview. Preference is what it is, but really all it takes is one GM saying, yeah well the media is the media.
-
Trading the #8 pick for extra picks in the second round is A) counter productive B) taking quantity to quality C) Lazy. The draft is what it is. The strength after the top #3, is D. You take what you feel is the best fit long term. Whether that's Juolevi, Chychrun, Sergachev, Bean, McAvoy. Or you take a forward like Nylander, Keller, Jost, etc.
-
Go Toronto Maple Leafs!
-
I've seen Niemelainen listed anywhere from 25-27 through the top of the third round. It's all based on the scouting staffs of the teams and slated style of play and preference. Anywhere from 25-40 is a crap shoot.
