  1. I enjoyed this a lot. What a fun tournament. I'm glad that Sweden pulled it out. Canada winning everything is boring.
  2. I agree, and the only center's that have the semi legit possibility of being there would be Glass and Middlestadt. I stll don't see or agree with that. The only C that I would go jumping up to the mic for is Vilardi. I like his zone presence and the way he enters the zone. His skating is his knock, but I think he's going to be a very fine centermen. I'm still very bullish on Liljegren. I like Salo at our top of the second round pick. He is someone that I'm higher on than Brannstrom. But, to each their own. This is a pepper this and that way type of draft with little difference, minus preference.
  3. It makes sense, but only if its on a reasonable term. He's at the point where his type of center starts breaking down. No point clogging up more cap on a player who likely will want to go to a contender. Maybe I'm wrong.
  4. Just a few seasons ago he said he wouldn't be an assistant. lol
  5. Awesome video, and the music was spot on MODO!
  6. Exactly, this. At this point most of the defense needs to be reworked. The depth is abysmal as well. Falk should not be a regular in any top 6. lol
  7. He can easily enough be waived to go down to Rochester. Capfriendly.com is the new one.
  8. I think it bodes well for CJ Smith and others too, that they'll give them a chance to succeed. It will be interesting if he follows the steps of Hextall and can get someone "cough cough" Arizona to buy on someone with a young asset to buy up Ennis, Moulson or Bogosian.
  9. I'd be willing as to go so far as to trade the second 2nd rounder for them to take Bogosian. God he's such a blight in the top four. At least with Gorges, you only have one more miserable year of his pessimism. He's barely an upgrade over Erik Gudbranson, and he spent 2/3rd's the season on IR.
  10. It should be the "Get rid of Bogosian "at all costs" Thread"
  11. Meh. All that's needed to say! :)
  12. Botter it is!
  13. What does band talk have to do with Botterill :P
  14. I'm just going to call him GO-BOT, because he's in disguise being a behind the scenes badass.
  15. QFT, That was very spot on! He's also got ties to the organization and seems like a tireless worker. (Similar to Murray, just not as brash)
  16. First off, this is really a thread? :wallbash: Second off the he's on the last year of a crappy deal. Let him play out his role on the bench and help mentor Guhle, and a few other youngsters we add.
  17. Stanley Cup - Buffalo Sabres. Though seriously, that is some serious hardware. I'm just happy this is finally over so we can start moving in the new direction.
  18. See that seems a little absorbent, unless that's what it will take to lock him in. He's right in the Monahan range for cap hit.
  19. I would put Monahan, MacKinnon's deals in contrast when bringing up his next, first true contract. IMO, that's both fair and realistic. He's gotten better, but there are still parts of his game he needs to work on.
  20. I walk straight up and take him, regardless of the RD vs LD issue.
  21. If Colorado hasn't learned from it's previous mistakes it will draft one of Makar or Heiskanen at 4. I could be completely off base, but they are as bad if not worse defensively than Buffalo.
  22. Cal O'Reilly is a career AHL talent as well. We won't see Derek Grant back in Buffalo for sure. Unless there is some drastic rush of injuries and we make a lazy waiver claim.
  23. Between Valimaki, Liljegren, or a centermen prospect like Middlestadt, Glass or a winger like Tippett (Who I'm not that high on). There are a number of talents that can be there and just fine for the Sabres. The only player I would die to have in Sabres blue and gold is Gabe Vilardi. I think he's the best talent outside of Hischier in the top 10. With no slights to Patrick.
  24. This is just a similar pattern with a new general manager. However it doesn't mean anything Tocchet was a solid NHL player, but I really don't see him being a strong coaching candidate. I'd much rather go in a completely different direction. So I agree with what most will say. Getting Botterill is a nice get, as he checks off a few boxes like Dubas, Chyka and the new NHL prototype GM. Implementing an old style NHL coach doesn't seem to make much sense outside of communication purposes.
