  1. Is it just me or is it complete crap that three of the four are Sabres. I'd rather have Pitlick, Nesterov (Russian factor) and Dwight King over those three. Not to mention former Sabre, might be coming back to the fold Chad Johnson (bleh). I doubt it, I still think he's a spare...I think it's more likely that Nylander, Bailey, Baptiste or Rodrigues, or Fasching makes it into the line up more regularly. Bailey still needs more seasoning / refinement to get polished. Baptiste and Fasching probably have the best cases to be up next season.
  2. I think there's some room in there for someone like King. He'd be a complimentary piece to replace the physical side of Foligno's game.
  3. Make this happen, and I can live with Moulson Light for the next few seasons. Who really would have thought that Ennis being protected meant trading him for a better player in an area (even strength scoring) could have happened. Bogosian to where is the real question. Arizona?!?
  4. No thank you. We need to move away from trading/signing for glass half full players. Mainly in the sense that his numbers are just empty stat filler. I really don't want to see Vanek back unless it's for dirt cheap on a one year deal. I'm happy in the sense that Ennis is leaving, and I do wish him luck. He was always the best player working his tail off on bad Nolan teams in year one and two of the Murray lock out. He needs a change of pace. Foligno was a heart and soul depth player, going to make upwards of 2.75-3M per season, for what? Hitting .....pass. Scandella has his warts, and that's the name of the game. But, this is just such a solid move. Even the pick involvement is minimal.
  5. Fine by me, I'd rather sign Stone, Buchter and Nesterov.
  6. So this is straight out of bogus land, but would it be crazy if Petersen came back as a part of the deal with Kane. LOL! (I am not being serious.)
  7. Meh, I've moved on from this, I'd rather have Nilsson (back) or Ullmark all season.
  8. Grigorenko is definitely the better player at this point. Which is hilarious. I remember watching Yakupov in junior thinking he could be something really special. Amazing what busts can look like at lower levels.
  9. He'll get north of 7. I would almost bet he'd become our highest paid player over O'Reilly. I don't think it's impossible, I just think with extensions coming up especially for Eichel, we're going to need to alocate other areas.
  10. Way to much cost in that, as well as the fact he's a one trick pony. I would rather take a look at a more reasonable case.
  11. Not really enamored with the free agent crop. I would prefer just plugging up with one year players while Botterill works on shedding some of the superfluous crap. Someone like Pitlick on the cheap to plug a bottom six role might be interesting. Albeit, that he's coming back from injury.
  12. I would give it a B, there is room for improvement. I liked the Middlestadt and goalie selections and time will tell if there is a promise from the other selections. Just like Murray received the benefit of the doubt, so shall Botterill. He was given a bit of a mess to clean up and also to restructure the team to how he sees fit.
  13. I would say it's contingent on Bogosian being moved. I don't see enough spots. As he's a righty, and really a one trick pony PP specialist. He'll use Buffalo for leverage and go to NYR. Who just moved a bunch of cap.
  14. Oh great forecaster of ever seeing knowledge can you forecast the next power ball. Seriously, go take a nap.
  15. Yuck. I am so not a fan of his game. He's also been extremely "unlucky / injury prone" the past few seasons. I'd only move him there for Brodin or Dumba plus. No thank you on Scandella! But, that's just my jaded opinion.
  16. Can we ignore posters? Seriously, calm the **** down. For the most part there were maybe 4-7 players that could definitely help the Sabres day one of next season, all if not most were gone by #8.
  17. I would go further in saying it allows you to do quite a few things with mixing lines and talents when you have natural positions at the draw, you can develop amazing chemistry. I like the European flare to be honest. I'm good so far. I had Middlestadt behind Only: Hischier, Vilardi, Patrick.
  18. Could it be that they are just following their draft plan. I'm fine with it so far. Hague and Timmins were gone, as were Makar and Heiskanen in round 1. The goalie in this range is a fine gamble. He's considered the top European and McKeen had him as the best in the class.
  19. I preferred Robertson at this selection, but speed kills and they must be really focused on getting faster for sure.
  20. http://www.nhl.com/ice/draftprospectdetail.htm?dpid=107235
  21. Ratcliffe is gone now. Yikes! That's a steep hill to climb, but to each their own Philly has been really aggressive so far.
  22. I think Bogosian has been better than Myers since the trade, and that's not saying much as Myers has been injured most of that time. So call a spade a spade. Zadorov is too young to say he cannot turn into a functional defensemen.
  23. I think he sounded poignant, intelligent and straight forward with his presser. His tape doesn't lie, getting stronger isn't an issue. Sam in his rookie year in preseason and the first nine games couldn't handle the NHL size/strength. It's a good pick.
  24. He looks like he just ate someone.
  25. I think I'll eat a bagel for breakfast. So perhaps.
