  1. I do, because there's no guarantee he signs an extension. You'd have to guarantee that. Secondly, one player will not fix the abundant issue at hand. This team lacks 4 quality defensemen at the moment. Trading Ristolainen, doesn't fix the problem. You're likely spending north of 9.5M, so be prepared to be even more cap riddled. Love Karlsson, but this seems silly.
  2. Andersson, Fox, Dube could all be decent returns with a 1st round pick if we're looking at CGY. There are going to be teams in need of scoring / injuries that pop up between now and March 1st.
  3. I'm ready to give someone else a chance. While he's credible enough to be average/middle of the pack. While it makes sense that he could be the goalie this team needs long term, with a retool needed. It would be more beneficial to trade him off for futures. So no, I personally do not believe he is the answer long term.
  4. 2nd round pick? An asset (one of their many goalie prospects or a forward: Laberge?)
  5. Nothing better than that. JBott keeping his play in Rochester in tact and gives Matt a chance to prove something with a new group and perhaps show that he has something left.
  6. Just 22 more open nets for Eichel to get to where he needs to be. Lulz. All in all, the first period was really sloppy. Things settled down in the second. Nice push, keep building boys.
  7. Done. As close as I could get it :P
  8. Give me Lindbolm, Sandstrom. I'd be a kid in the candy shop.
  9. So this means we can waive Jordan Nolan, STAT!
  10. A watered down beer, that some people like.
  11. He's better than Moulson, so I'm good with it from that suspect. Other than that, it's just a small patch.
  12. I just laugh, and say "good luck with that".
  13. The film Idiocracy is based on Russ Brandon.
  14. Bogosian tore his de quervain's tendon in his thumb, hitting the "send" button. That's what everyone's figured out about this Twit.
  15. Give me Ethan Bear or the best picks package and he's yours. Or perhaps we add something to try and pry Puljujarvi out from them (pipe dream).
  16. Walker is someone who has decent skating ability. I'd much rather see him on this roster than some of the other riff raff that's in Buffalo, atm. Tennyson is going back where he belongs.
  17. That's true, bombs away! Physicality is one of Bogosian's supposed strengths. How can you bring physicality when you're made of glass!
  18. Keeping Kane, means likely paying him close to 8M. I just don't see it in any other situation. Keeping him away from UFA where he can potentially be the top scoring option to garner any or all of what he wants out of his likely biggest contract is silly for him. To sign up for 8 seasons at a high cap with the looming word "rebuild" just glares "not likely".
  19. With how bad this team is, it's about moving Evander Kane on to greener pastures to revitalize the system. Trading him not only makes sense, it's completely logical. The injuries, the system glaring flaws, the lack of push on the back end, and inconsistencies. The better hope is finding someone to dare dream on Okposo as a scoring option with the right forward group. Personally, I've pretty much moved on to say: trade anyone outside of: Eichel, RIstolainen, Mittelstadt, Guhle and some of the kids: (Nylander, Asplund, Smith (possibly), Lekkonen).
  20. Saying that they're looking for a defensemen and quoting Bogosian is close to a return, are complete opposites of the solution.
  21. As far as extending Kane, the writing is on the wall. He'll sooner return via UFA, than he will be extended during this current season.
  22. #1: Trading Evander Kane: while being creative as some articles have shown (Yahoo etc) and getting the best mix of futures; ie picks, prospect. #2: Scouring the college hockey free agent pool and adding as many realistic options as possible. #3: Being creative and finding a way to trade at least one dead space contract (see: Moulson, Okposo, Bogosian). #4: Under no circumstances do you trade #15. Trading #23 is much more realistic. Housley can only be as strong as his team. He's a first time head coach. He's positive. If you fire him this early into his first contract, you're selling a message to the rest of the league about how not to run a franchise.
  23. Gorges at least expires, Moulson while completely useless is on the books for next season. Then there's the tire fire that is becoming Okposo.
  24. I'm not about absorbing a player like Orpik's deal unless we get 1st, Vrana or Burakovsky +. That's hideous. I don't want anymore dead weight on this pathetic team. Orpik still is a stalwart in his own zone, but we don't need more rigid age on the back end. Sprong is the only serviceable piece in this for me. The difference of a 2nd for the Penguins to a first is laughable. I'm not helping Pittsburgh who has if not the worst hockey prospect pool, it's close.
  25. I'm not trading Evander Kane for Ian Cole, if that happens I'm done watching hockey this season. If the Penguins want to give up Sprong, a 1st, and possible assets, maybe. But, the idea of Cole for Kane is baffling. If you want to trade Rental for Rental, can we please start with Gorges +++++.
