Best defensemen of his generation, and I put 50 points plus. I'm going high bar on this one.
-
Perfect fit in Ottawa. ZING.
-
12 goals 28 assists for 40 points. A decent showing on the PP and in terms of face off percentage. It could be more in the 15 goal 20 assist range as well.

Duchene is very hollow when it comes to stats, and game play. I don't want anything to do with Galchenyuk. I'd rather it be Poehling, Mete, 3rd.
-
Denisenko could go anywhere from 11 to 32 to be honest. There is no reason to think he couldn't fall.
-
Dominik Bokk, KAndre Miller, Mattias Samuelsson, Jett Woo, Jakub Lauko (really would love him in the third) -- if we could get a third back. Okay, and if Jared McIsaac falls to the 2nd round pick, please take him. I don't understand the hate on him free falling. He seems like a Brandon Carlo pick to me. Who was talented in his draft year and fell to the top of the second round. Give me that!

I like this. Time to get rid of guys who haven't done anything with big time role opportunities. Not a bad player, just not what we need. New faces.

O’Reilly, Smith and Lehner - Sabres Next Season?
Rasmus_ replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I honestly don't see the value in seeing him for another year. I think at this point it could become toxic if he's back and is demoted below Ullmark (who would have to win the job outright of course). However, I think at this point, cutting bait is almost the preferred component. It allows you to bring in someone who can compete and give a new voice in the room and on the ice. I would almost rather have one year of Nilsson than Lehner back next year. I'm split on O'Reilly. I don't know if it's better for the team long term if he stays or goes for speed, youth and flexibility. It will be dictated by the offers out of the gate of course. If someone over extends themselves then I assume he'll be dealt. Likely, he's here for the long haul. -
No thanks. Not the proper response to this team.

Better today than Larry in year 5.

Congrats to Evander for getting the money he was looking for. San Jose really was the perfect situation for him to be insulated by a roster with the veterans that can just allow him to be "Evander". So congrats! This also gives us extra ammunition for moving up, and adding more to our barren wasteland.

Sabres shots, this team might be better than we think
Rasmus_ replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I doubt Nylander starts with Buffalo. He looks terrible in decision making, his two way play is questionable and to be honest he doesn't shoot enough. He needs to get stronger and learn the systems needed. Right now he looks like a BUST. -
Ristolainen, O'Regan and Baptiste - Sabres Next Season?
Rasmus_ replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Trade, keep in AHL and 3rd/4th line energy wing. -
He's not the same player from two to three seasons ago. Honestly, if that's all you can get out of Carolina in an offer for O'Reilly or anyone of substance, I'm moving on happily. He's a Yandle with less two way game. Yes, Yandle is a solid defensemen, but would you honestly give up something critical on this team for that. The easy answer is no.

MUST HAVE MORE SIGNINGS! ;)

Meh, here's hoping they lose the next 4 straight. The Capitals are one of the most top heavy teams in the league. If Tampa Bay cannot defeat them than it is an injustice.
-
Time to move on from Bogosian. He's unreliable and we don't need to waste another 30 games waiting for him to come back only to then injury something else. Good player, useful player, good person. However, unreliable and it's time to move on after 3 seasons of B/S injuries.

Larsson, Girgensons, and Bogo - Sabres next season?
Rasmus_ replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Traded, traded, bought out. It's time to move on. We've seen what we've seen. To be honest Girgensons is the only one that I'd be okay seeing back. However, when you have chances with someone as talented as Jack Eichel and you still cannot produce, than we know what you are. You're a bottom six energy forward who lucked into a 20 goal season due to a lack of talent base. Larsson, it's time to move on from to me. There is just not enough speed and results. At 1.4 million in cap we can afford to give another player a chance. While he is sometimes useful in PK and in the face off circle, there is not enough speed or utility to maximize him. We can give the spot to a different option. Bogosian is a useful player, but how much longer can you give a player before it's just time to move on. He's reached the end of that. If you can move him, great, if not buy him out. We need to see other players in that spot to fill those minutes. -
Why I Don't Want Any of the Remaining Teams to Win.
Rasmus_ replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
Nashville or Winnipeg winning it is fine for me. I'm fine with Tampa as well. I don't think Washington has a chance to win the cup. -
This has been a post on several other places I look. Karlsson is 28, has one more year on his contract and then will hit the 9.5-11.0 million dollar threshold. Erik Karlsson will not make this team a playoff team next year. In addition, it continues to cripple our financial floundering. Trading a controllable asset who has unlimited upside and shows more "tools" than Karlsson to me is a joke. There is ZERO guarantee that he'd even stick around (Karlsson). Unless they take Okposo, Bogosian, Moulson and Pominville and still return Karlsson, White, and other assets it makes no sense. This team is going to be outside of the playoffs next year again. Unless something drastically changes, or they hit on every single situation next year.

One player will not fix the monumental hole in the line up. Our wings are garbage outside of Sam, who will definitely take over on the RW permanently now. So yes, one player can improve the tempo we push the puck out of the zone and will have a trickle down effect on the rest of the D in the line up to make it a less pressured situation. But, looking at the Sabres, it doesn't look or feel like a playoff roster. If you think they can get even to the 10th spot ...I think that's a stretch. We'll see in August what the rest of their off season looks like before I get that hyped up.

Smart move on both sides to continue to see Casey have a shot at permanent success in the NHL. With the excessive amount of LHD on the roster, it's helpful to have the extra RHD who did show some presence in PP and even strength moments. This also pushes Tennyson to the AHL for good. (I'm hoping!)

Johan Larsson, is the worst player on there by a mile. He had to be a fill in for a fill in for a fill in. Probably the best hockey writing I've read in a while. It gives a full detailed report, and it's awesome that this is our co franchise face with Eichel. Now if Ullmark can just become a better starter than Lehner!

The city that God forgot. LMAO. That's such sweetness.

Depth is depth. Adding it is what this team needs to create, to force both play and competition and every level. The defense in this organization in the past few seasons has been a joke. To be blunt. This is the draft class to go D, D, D. Depending on BPA and what falls.
