Well Larry is terrible, so I guess if you're looking for a slight means above that, okay they're upgrades. I'm not a fan of Berglund and his re-signing a season ago was hilarious. Now he's our problem.
-
Moulson and Pominville are done next season. We just found their replacements for cap purgatory.
-
He's not good. I cannot stand him as a player and he's underachieved his entire career.
-
Exactly the picks are fine, and Tage Thompson is fine. But, adding all this unnecessary cap, should have been St Louis' problem. Not ours. Now we have to look at getting rid of Pominville. He has NO PLACE on this roster.
-
To be honest, I'm not really that worried about this. Do you know how many forwards excel in the CHL and then come to the NHL And under produce. Look at Ty Rattie and countless others. I do agree with you to a degree that another "Prospect" was needed. See Alexei Toropchenko or someone in that ilk. Tage Thompson fits the mold of American centermen and he brings a good bit of size and strength.

We gained 150K in cap savings. This is what is FRUSTRATING to me. I find it completely unacceptable. That's where I'm frustrated, I get taking on one of the two players. Berglund hasn't been a particularly strong players in 3-4 seasons. He's a bottom six forward and a terrible replacement on the wings. I'm hoping we trade him immediately.
-
He's better than an extra forward, but I hear your point.
-
Here's hoping Berglund or Sobotka are elsewhere in less than a years time. Berglund is continually injured, and to be honest, he's not that great.
-
I cannot stand the Berglund and Sobotka part to this. I think one is enough, but two...asinine. That should have been a secondary young piece (Toropchenko or someone in the secondary end of their pool). The 2nd in 2020 is also a bit terrible. I like the 1st and Thompson part, but to be fair the contracts we had to take back are frustrating. Overall, this had to happen at this stage. I hope we can get one of these forwards out of here.
-
Not sure why we should have to take back Sobotka. Personally, I'd rather not add anything we don't want back in the deal.
-
About what it would take. Good to have you back Scotty.

Who cares...enjoy the cap problems. the Leafs.

Bellows, Beauvillier, 2019 1st.

ROR Watch - Who Is Our 2nd Line Center If ROR Is Traded?
Rasmus_ replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I would say it's Mittelstadt and we bring in someone like Riley Nash. -
AUSTON MATTHEWS :P JK.
-
At this point it's likely, not unlikely he gets moved. I think this is just the culling to disintigrate everything that was created before. Almost like Beane / McDermott with the Bills. Now if we can get rid of Okposo, Beaulieu, and Bogosian.

This is so true, every little snip of him skating just gets me giddy. It's so impressive. He's also hungry, excited to play in the NHL and in Buffalo. This kid is the most humble "potential super star" in any sport I've ever seen. When you take in terms of this previous regimes in ability to focus on drafting defense sure. I think Guhle has the potential to still be a top four defensemen under the right conditions. However, adding in Dahlin, Pilut, Samuelsson, Hickey, to a group that has other "lottery ticket types", gives you a realistic view of what could be in the future. I hate Paul Hamilton, he's such a schill. Honestly the fact that Vogl and Graham left TBN and this POS and Harrington still have jobs is beyond common reasoning.

Poor Jack & Congratulate Thorny on his Marriage Thread
Rasmus_ replied to Doohicksie's topic in The Aud Club
Ouch, this just made me want to hurl. We at least got a player who's had some success with elite players before in Sheary yesterday who can skate, create and finish to a degree. Please give him a shot with Eichel. No more of this slow ambiguous crap. Congrats Man! -
What Sabre will first attempt to corrupt innocent young Dahlin?
Rasmus_ replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
This is such a jaded Sabre perspective based on the past five years as I've ever seen one. Jesus. -
TRADE: Matt Hunwick and Conor Sheary to Buffalo per Friedman
Rasmus_ replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
He's an improvement just in the standpoint of playing in his own zone over Boo loo. -
2019 1st, Robert Thomas, Ivan Barbashev?
-
Not interested in Vince Dunn, Tage Thompson, Robert Thomas, etc?

TRADE: Matt Hunwick and Conor Sheary to Buffalo per Friedman
Rasmus_ replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Get rid of Hunwick and this trade is a steal for a third. -
What if's don't matter, we should only base anything on certainty. He didn't move him so we're good. Montreal. Perfectly said. We're looking at Robert Thomas, Vince Dunn and parts in that type of a move.

Anthony Duclair and Tobias Reider were both not qualified. Both play with speed and at one point have been 15-20 goal scorers. These are two players I would hope that Botterill would be all over as far as cheap lower tier free agents to bring in and compete. No need to sign Nash at 5M when you can get Duclair at 1.5-2.5. Just saying as a reference to what the Sabres should be trying for instead of the aged dwindling former top stars. Less Okposo's more diamonds in the ruff.
