  1. It is because everyone else is brought in via trade: You think Hasek, Lafontaine, Briere, etc. They were all additions in that regard or drafted here. I guess the closest you bring in, might be a defensemen. But, this is a flashy, awestruck moment in Sabres history.
  2. I woke up, even when it was published as a done deal from all the insiders, on Buffalo Sabres Twitter, and everything else, and I still didn't believe it. This is the impact, losing, and terrible owners do to you. As well as 5 general managers and what 5 coaches. You just live in disbelief every second.
  3. <MARCO ROSSI> Enter prompt. I am very high on Peterka, otherwise again this draft is a wash. I cannot say I know much of anything on the later round picks in the 6th and 7th round.
  4. Exactly, I hate this signing. Where are the supposed analytics that Adams was preaching. It what it is, welcome to the new norm, the Sabres are a laughing stock. We're the early 2000's Oilers. Well said, we're run by an incompetent front office, and even more insipid owners, who have to have a say on most if not every decision.
  5. I still don't like this pick. He could be okay, however at this point I am still calling this a reach and they should have traded down.
  6. I like in no specific order Turris, Haula, Wallmark, Wennberg, Duclair, Hirose, Hinostroza, Larsson, Kahun, Borowiecki, Jankowski, Benning, Leivo, Namestnikov, Janmark, Gustafsson, Toffoli, Fast, Granlund, Tanev. All of these players fill a number of different needs and positions. Give me: Wallmark, Gustafsson, Kahun/Namestnikov, Borowiecki
  7. Wallmark and Wennberg. Those are two guys I'd be after for bottom six center roles. Depending on what happens with Larsson.
  8. This is the worst drafting team in the NHL for the past 10 years. They don't have a player outside of Asplund past the first round that has played a single game. It just goes to show, that a new general manager who "works well" with the owners, and "understands our feelings" is going to be nothing more than a god damned yes man. Jack Quinn, is only mentioned as a natural goal scorer with a shot. That's a "one dimensional" hockey player at definition. I will admit, I haven't watched a ton of tape, because I didn't think we'd be taking a player ranked anywhere between 10-16. I was more involved in two way centermen. Once again, we have center issues, and settling on a 37 year old being your answer, is a short term view, not long term realistic view. If Quinn is who you believe is the best talent on the board at 8, I want someone else laying the decision making. Sell the team Terry, you have a profitable football franchise that will make you more money. However, you decide to get involved in almost every decision and this is just another example of why you're trash. Yes, I'm overly angry at everything, but I was hoping that analytics would put a player like Marco Rossi, or Anton Lundell over. Instead, we got an overager, who does one thing well. Half of my anger will be defused with in a few hours, but I'm pissed.
  9. This screams to the Pegula's seeing that we didn't score enough goals, and going for a one dimensional player in Jack Quinn. Quinn is a quality hockey player and a first round talent, but this is such a ***** microcosm of how terrible this team is run. The Pegula's made this pick, our GM is a puppet and I ***** hate this team. @Pegulas get out the sport of hockey, you kill the fans every single year more and more. I hate this selection.

Rossi/Raymond/Lundell Any of these three and I'm happy!
  11. Then I will be shocked.
  12. Traded within the next 6 months, book it.
  13. No thanks. I'd rather sign someone on a fringe 1 year prove me deal, than use draft capitol on someone that isn't a fit past a season or two at most.
  14. I like the Schmaltz idea. It's creative, he can play multiple positions and under 25. It depends on the ask, but something around Ristolainen and would be ideal.
  15. Needs to be moved. It's time to move on from Ristolainen, and to some degree Zemgus Girgensons.
  16. Borowiecki is perfect for the bottom six. He's nasty, should come in under $4,000,000, and you can sign him on a relatively low term 2 years per say. Gustafsson, is perfect for an upgrade to the second pair and still in his mid twenties (27 turning 28). He's also Swedish which further insulates Dahlin. He's strong in both zones and is looking to test UFA. Merrill/Forbort, play a similar game to Borowiecki and would add a solid upgrade on the bottom pairing. TRADE - who knows. Move one of the excess: Montour / Miller for a young cost controlled NHL ready talent and a pick depending on "who". Gustafsson is the biggest UFA that I considered, as he's coming off of a dip in production and possibly could see this team as somewhere he could fit in nicely. I see Dillon going to a contender or staying in Washington, if they move out a contract.

These are my tiers, based on personal preference. Rossi / Lundell Raymond Sanderson Jarvis / Quinn / Holtz
  18. Trade any of the following - The defense has holes, the only defenders I would definitely keep are Dahlin, Jokiharju Carter Hutton, G Brandon Montour, RHD Colin Miller, RHD Jake McCabe, LHD Rasmus Ristolainen, RHD Kyle Okposo, RW Tage Thompson, RW Zemgus Girgensons, LW Thank god their going for real - Sobotka, Hunwick, Frolik, Vesey Depending on the market (maybe re-sign) - Wayne Simmonds, RW Re-sign please - Johan Larsson, C/LW
  19. This is a bunch of crap. That's all 😄
  20. He's an interesting forward, just depends on $ and term.
  21. Like the player, and I like that the term is exactly what it needed to be. Extended since he played hard, but not showing him more than his role on the team. Solid signing. I like the little things Lazar brings to the table. You also need to reward low level signings that bring stabilizing elements to the roster.
  22. My question is how you're getting them to swallow half of the contract, and getting Haula to agree to something that minimal. Now I understand you're probably basing this on COVID killing the UFA market, which is completely possible.
  23. That's what people said last year and it didn't. He still hasn't put it together and got injured - again. He'll be traded in a year's time for a minimal return. He has the skill and the size, just not the brain on the ice.
  24. With Staal here for at least this upcoming season, I would definitely love to get Copp in to lessen the strain on Cozens that much more. Copp, also has been used as a somewhat useful RW option as well.
