In his first full season he did what fans wanted to see out of him and that was bring his physical nature to the Sabres. He did that leading the team in blocks and being a true professional in the locker room and out. If there is a guy you need to handcuff to Zaddy, its' Gorges for the rest of the season. Get cleaned up, 2015 will be a much different ride.

I was impressed that he didn't beat around the bush. He remained professional while answering questions about Winnipeg and left the issue in Manitoba. He may have spurned some in that room, but I am so happy to have him here. He was insightful, funny and straight forward. If anything, he's excited about the group and opportunity to improve on the upswing. 2015-16, looks brighter and more optimistic.

I guess the reason that I want O'Reilly personally is his defensive upside with the ability to put up 60-70 point potentially. With the right talent he has shown that he can be a 25 goal talent. I'm so tired of seeing this team get shredded.

Love that if it can swindle them into giving up a lottery pick. However, I don't see them trading the pick. I secondly would hate moving Girgensons, but you have to do what you have to do.

All of this makes sense, I would agree completely. The offseason makes a lot more sense with what Colorado's been dealing with. They still have an outside shot at the playoffs and O'Reilly only helps their cause. However, we'll see what is involved. If he's available at a realistic price that GMTM is interested in, he'll likely swoop. It's go time in the Murray camp.
-
Exactly how I feel. It just really depends on the asking price and what is involved. There are pieces available. It cannot start with Zadorov, Ristolainen or Bogosian (defense) or Reinhart, Fasching or Compher (on offense) hopefully. Ennis is always trying. He's a part that I would prefer to see on the roster, but I do feel that RoR > Ennis.

That's fair, I'm just talking about from a hockey player standpoint. The guy at 42 still is productive. His work ethic is undeniable. Say all you want about his attitude, his persona and his diva like stature, but he's a joy to watch on the ice. I personally have loathed the Devils since the mid to late 90's along with Toronto, and Boston.
-
Pretty much how I feel about Kessel. Kane has a two way game and an output that is within Patrick Kane's net shot put while playing a more aggressive style. Kessel scores well and can skate with speed.

As long as Nolan has his say, pfft I doubt we'll see an extensive cast of Americans' call ups. Aside from Larsson as an emergency replacement for Kaleta, we'd probably not have him.
-
Two goals for Jagr, to push his trade value up. I find him still one of the most enjoyable players to watch in the NHL.
-
The Oilers picked up another point last night in Winnipeg, forcing the game to the SO. They're playing so much better under Phillips. The marginal improvement really shows in their output. Look at Yakupov alone. He's still a plus minus nightmare, but he's putting up points again. If they can get him stable, then maybe they can really finally begin to show on their unlimited potential.

Putting expectations on a rookie is like capping the odds for the winner of the Preakness. You have unusual rookie cases like MacKinnon or you have talented younger players with years like Curtis Lazar. We're all hoping for the 50-70 point case, but being realistic, it will be a big help to add more talent to the top 6 either way. This has been a frustrating and brutal trip to rebuilding, but being realistic it had to happen.

Great post, I'm starting to feel the same. I'm really tired of him playing guys like Benoit when there are more deserving guys like potentially Pysyk. The fringe guys need to move out of the way. Larsson needs to stay the rest of the year regardless of injuries/health. Noah Hanifen or Mitch Marner depending on who you ask.
-
I haven't I wish he would get a substantial look in the lower portion of the roster to earn his stripes in Buffalo. I'm tired of seeing Hodgson and Kaleta when Larsson has the potential to be as good if not better. Looking forward to watching Bogosian specifically tonight.

That was a report last week as well. Spooner has no grasp of his ability around the net and has not even produced in the AHL. Classic bust prospect. I'm not a fan of Spooner and he's 23 already. He's a downgrade from both Lemieux and Armia for prospect value.
-
I feel the exact same way. I don't hate Edmonton, I just feel like when you've been that bad for so long, you should fix mistakes...not continue to make them.
-
Honestly I would be okay with Arizona getting it. I cannot stomach wishing anything positive for Toronto.
-
The sad thing is someone is going to take his contract. I could see Arizona, or someone taking the risk. We'll see. I cannot stand his style of play. Though he puts up numbers. Shopp and Bulldog talking about hoping Toronto wins the lottery if Buffalo doesn't. Does that make anyone else sick?
-
I have literally no interest in Phaneuf, he's a fine player but his defense is so paltry that its just asinine to even take on his less than favorable salary. Aside from Green (Wash) I wouldn't touch him. He's got Anaheim or someone else written on him.

Sabres Murray: Believe Nothing I Say, And Everything I Do
Rasmus_ replied to dejeanneret's topic in The Aud Club
I don't think Stewart wants to be a part of this team to be honest. I see him moving on regardless. He's got a low one year risk deal in Boston or something like that IMO. All good stuff here, welcome to the site. Valid points to everything in my opinion. -
Neuvirth is likely resigned, and they trade for an NHL near ready? Though Ramo has been somewhat solid for Calgary.
