No information in here on the Saad trade :P
-
Hayes will be resigned as I believe I read previously he's in contract negotiations. I love Frolik, but I can see him signing with a contender.
-
So happy he made it in. He played a long time and for too many teams, but he was a really good player. His points, and cup win were enough to finally get him in. I compare him to a Fred McGriff of MLB (who hasn't made it yet).
-
Yes! He's been terrible since he came in with Carolina. He's replaceable. Which looks like Rodrigues and the RIT college signings do for that.
-
No thanks. I heard Pillsbury is looking for a mascot. Kessel could definitely apply for that. Kessel does not need to be a Buffalo sweater. I will pass on his passive aggressive aloof attitude and piss poor defensive tendencies!

Kessel and Phaunef for Reinhart, Hodgson and Gionta?

Or an extremely valuable #1 defensemen. On another site there were names like Seth Jones thrown out there. I'd rather keep Sam. As he "WILL", be fine. -
Cannot wait to listen to this! Thanks.

The man wants to be paid, and should someone really be upset that he had the opportunity in 2013 to sign an offer sheet while a terrible GM was still in office in Jay Feaster. It really has stemmed back from this. He puts his game full court and led the team in take away's last year. He draws well, he skates well, he's a team guy and I've loved him since he came in. He will be locked up, otherwise Tim Murray looks like a buffoon. We all know that he'll pay the "brass tax", to get what he wants done. He's our Bergeron potentially at the ripe age of 24.

LOL! NO! There is no reason you give that team any breathe. Phaneuf is a good player, but that contract is completely attrocious. You're telling me you want to add 15.25M on the cap while we have RFA's of Mark Pysyk, Johan Larsson, and a few others. O'Reilly is not signed. Next season: Lehner, Ristolainen, Girgensons and a few others are again RFA's. This makes literally 0 sense. -
Any interesting undrafted talents?
-
I overlooked Sekera! He's the obvious guy, but in a top heavy market he's going to get a lot of money from someone. I still think that there are more than likely better trade targets to go after. But, he's a safe guy as we know him well.

Yeah we all can have pipe dreams :). Personally Saad is in mine. Though Tarasenko would be a dream come true. Any combination of Ennis, Kane, Tarasenko on a line with O'Reilly or Eichel is just wow!

Murray has traded a lot of assets in a very short period of time
Rasmus_ replied to jahnyc's topic in The Aud Club
A lot of the assets he's traded aside from Lemieux were not drafted by his regime. I'm not implying that he should or should not have moved those pieces. That being said, the team today is a hell of a lot closer that it would have been without the trades. Kane, O'Reilly, Reinhart, Eichel, Bogosian, Lehner, Deslauriers, Fasching, are all in their 25 season or lower. Add in Ristolainen, Girgensons, McCabe, Pysyk, Foligno, Larsson, Ennis. The team needs to get these talents to gel, and needs to add a bit more depth on the back end. Lehner needs to get healthy over the concussion concerns, but really, you add in what he's added and you see that for the most part there's a lot of top end talent. He had to finish bottoming out what Regier brought half way down. But, DR honestly wouldn't have gone all in. TM has stuck to his guns whether good or bad. The draft after round 1 was a bit heavy on defense, but that's what was played to him. I would have preferred a Tomek or Ahl pick splintered in, but we'll see. Every GM, or Scouting director misses on picks. (See Cornel). But for the most part, this team is at least in the "Exciting, poised to be making noise in the Eastern conference again", type of situation. He'll retool! Get O'Reilly signed and this team is pretty damn exciting heading into July 1. There are still situations where cap crunches are coming. See LA, Chicago, and a few various others. -
Honestly all of this just is depressing. I guess Oduya, but I see him asking for 4 plus, and Martin breaks down. I totally would prefer seeking out the trade market over this. It's hard to get excited over mid 30's broken down variations of themselves. Though Beauchmin did stay healthy last season. I don't see him leaving Anaheim, now that they re-dumped Wisniewski.

I hated both the DeBrusk overrdraft and Senyshyn, but truly who cares. Let Boston fall down into the cracks.
-
They got a better pick in round 2, in Carlo lol. Cernak was a guy I loved. Sigh.
-
Sprong! At #51 I'm in love with that pick!

Poor Bruins. HAH. I'm so happy they did this. Panicking! Chiarelli doesn't make that mistake. Top options at #51? Opinions?
-
Foligno-Larsson-Deslauriers (Solid 4th line)?
-
Okayish, 4th liner. He has a place.
-
As long as that happens, then I can get over Zaddy.
-
Hopefully we find someone to replace Zaddy. I can only hope there's a gem at 51.
