I have a feeling agents are about to use Buffalo to increase contracts signed with other teams.

Him considering come back to Buffalo was one of the stranger thoughts this summer. He just turned down Buffalo a few months ago. What possibly could’ve changed.

Jacob Bryson will not receive a qualifying offer from the Sabres

This is actually a monumental development. A turning point. -
Hold up. So, if I shell out the $200+ to bring my family to see a game, I don’t deserve to see a good effort? Besides the beer, what am I paying that money for? The spectacles in the seats around me?

Let’s face it, there were very very few who wanted Quinn on here. The board erupted when we picked him over Rossi. Yet, our drafting “sucks” and reeks of nepotism.

Definitely a standup, very likable guy. But for a player who makes $9M while refusing to listen to multiple coaches, we deserve better.

Sabres acquire Forward Beck Malenstvn for 43rd Overall

We saw this with the Chychrun trade as well. We were offering better picks than Ottawa, but Arizona wanted more from us. Arizona was so hell bent on taking advantage of us, they ultimately took less. For some reason, teams want more from us than other teams. -
Jeff Skinner rumors, trade and buyout speculation swirling
kas23 replied to Flashsabre's topic in The Aud Club
I think this is a bit much. The cap just went up by $4M. Think about how much the cap will be going up over the span of 5 years. And any GM trading Quinn over trading or waving a 4th liner making $2.4M should be fired. -

It will not make upcoming years “a lot worse”. Please look at the numbers. It will increase our cap spending by $0.4M more every year buying him out now as opposed the next year. In addition, in year 29-30, it will cause a cap hit of $2.4M. That’s an extra $2.4M hit in 5 years. I don’t see either of these causing much of a cap problem considering the cap will be increasing each year. -
Ffs, his old coach is now in Buffalo. He’s a need. If he likes Ruff and more importantly, if Ruff liked him, it really sounds like a slam dunk. Yet, here we are, discussing him going to Vancouver.

Jeff Skinner rumors, trade and buyout speculation swirling
kas23 replied to Flashsabre's topic in The Aud Club
This is true, but why roll the dice on signing a contract for $7M over 3 years? His current contract already guarantees this. It would be reasonable to ask Kevyn what trades he has on the table. Either say yes or no, rather than a blanket “I’m not waiving it”. -
Well, he sort of is a solution at center. I think many on here would hope KA brings in a 3C. It’s going to be up to Krebs if he wants to take that from him. Otherwise, he’ll be 4C, which wouldn’t be a horrible outcome if he’s surrounded by real NHL players.

But it just seems exactly like something Kevyn would say. And that annoys me. -

Hasn’t sensed? It really isn’t that hard of a question and probably an easy one to answer given he’s going to be “moved” despite his NMC. -
It’s like deja vu all over again.

Fwiw, Hasek beat a reporter.

Will Lindy allow players to have their own goal songs?
kas23 replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
I would make them earn it. Don’t make it punitive, but make it a fun competition. Like they get to have goal songs once the team hits 40 goals. Sneaky, fun way of guarding against a slow start and will build camaraderie. -
And they wouldn’t be wrong. They just won a Cup together.
-
These both look like decent drafts. However, I don’t think fans are ready for a Sam O’Reilly. Too soon.
-
Well, this confirms it. Catton is the target.

Saw this and am here to watch SS explode.

I really think if he ever wanted to play for the Sabres, he would’ve signed with them instead of Detroit. I don’t think playing for the Sabres was anything more than a passing thought.

Yeah, Appert’s there to give the coddling as the youngsters grow accustomed to a real NHL coach’s expectations and demands. Don’t know why Ellis is still around. Wilford had the boys playing some good defense down the stretch, but I’m sure Ruff will be hovering and work with him. Bales is a given.

Thank you for posting this. It was new to me. Must’ve missed it with all the traveling I have been doing. I think this is the closest reason we’re going to get on why the assistant coaches were retained. Ruff preaches that you need to know the player nowadays, know what makes the tick, and know what turns them off. They his is what he said on the question of how he evolved over the years. The current assistants get him this info immediately. He couldn’t come in here barking with new people. He knew that would fail.
