  1. It was really eye opening for me to sit with a Pats fan and watch this. He was just as anxious about the outcome as I was and unlike me, he screamed at his qb and lamented how badly he sucks....he was even more anxious when he tried to come up with a path to future success without Brady. I’m sure to ask him a lot of questions too. I really want him to think deeply about all of this....these Pats fans are going to have a really hard time when the losing comes their way.
  2. As I sit here with my BIL from Boston and he is forced to acknowledge the officiating mistakes it becomes obvious to me that the refs took this one.
  3. Die Hard!? Whatchewtalkinbout? I’ve never seen anyone spend countless hours and dollars replicating costumes of John McClane. It takes some special suspending of reality to build your own Darth Maul costume!? If I were to go full on nerd and build a costume it would be Darth Malgus all day long! I’m muscled, pale and bald with permanent resting mean face so I have half the look already ?. I’ll see the movie. I‘m not anti-Disney. The way that the old and new Star Wars was tied together in Battlefront 2 was great. I very much enjoyed being Kylo Ren invading Del Meeko’s mind. I loved running around on Jakku in the same wrecked star destroyer as Iden Versio that Rey is later in. It was great how they first get you thinking that Rey may be the daughter of Iden and Del. Very entertaining and compelling. I probably won’t love the movie but I have too strong of a notion how this was all suppose to shake out. And Disney could have left the EU intact. I think that’s where a lot of fan anger comes from. We didn’t follow our own wisdom and loved the extra stuff too much. The fear of loss lead to anger which lead to hate and now...the suffering. I’m not trying to poop in anyone’s cornflakes. If you like the new stuff then cool. I just want people to understand why so many people don’t like it...as much...we’re SW fans so we’ll always like it....just not as much? Nothing personal. Now of y’all excuse me, I need to start a parts list for my Malgus costume.
  4. You?! My friggin Pats loving Bostonian BIL will be arriving at my house just in time for the game. I may just tell him the TV is broken.
  5. I’m not going to write him off either. There’s no question that his skating and hands are above average. He needs to learn where to be on the ice to be successful though. If any team can turn him around it’s the Amerks. Hell they were winning games with Paescht playing as a forward and Brady Vail out there.
  6. It gets difficult for someone that spent the last 40 years reading books/comics and playing EVERY SW game ever made. That particular fan’s reality is completely different from the casual fan that eventually saw all the movies. Before Disney, SW was sooooo much more than just the movies. I was heartbroken to learn the EU was now in the trash can. That whole Force Unleashed set of games did a beautiful job painting the scene of how Vader inadvertently(or he knew damn well what he was doing and was trying to atone for his sins) gathered the rebels and spawned the rebellion. I spent MONTHS and YEARS in that reality. Now it isn’t real anymore. For me personally Star Wars is the trail of breadcrumbs that takes me back to the sweet little boy that grew up in the very large, very poor family. Somehow Dad scraped up enough money to take all of us to the New Hope when it was first out. The one and only time I went to a movie until I was a teen and could drive myself there. So I guess I’m saying it’s as much a fault of Disney as it is the fan if they get beaten over the head because of the decisions they’ve made. Actually, it’s all their fault if the movie sucks and I don’t like it. Star Wars is mine. Always has been. Always will be.
  7. I should add that there were two 5-3 PKs in a row and I don’t think he play PK at all so that was probably the reduced toi. I really wish they’d just give us that damn stat.
  8. He got less toi in the third. There was an interview with Dineen with regards Mitts where he basically said he was going to get tons of ice time and he did at first. He just makes poor decisions. He dumped the puck back to Johansson(who was a friggin stud tonight with a 40 save shutout) and it nearly was picked off. He can’t get a decent shot off because he can’t get open. Same with passing. He also wasn’t very good on the boards. I hope he gets better because he certainly doesn’t fit the Amerks’ style of play. I’m glad I finally got to see him play live. It’s tough to watch hockey on TV in general and very tough to judge a player IMO.
  9. It was good to see Mitts interact and toss some pucks over the glass for the group with welcome signs and 73 sweaters held up. I’ve seen several so far. Maybe that boosts the kid tonight? I hope so. Go Amerks!
  10. We make a homemade elderberry syrup that my wife cans. I absolutely hate the taste of elderberries so I just take it as medicine. Clinical trials done in Israel in the early 90’s and in Norway in 2003 claim that elderberries improve flu symptoms quicker than Tamiflu does. I take clinical experiments with a grain of salt but I swear by elderberries for health. https://theherbaltoad.com/blog/elderberry-vs-tamiflu/
  11. The Sabres should hire me to teach these boys how to fight for keeps.
  12. I couldn’t find a gif with a bag on Sabretooth’s head.
  13. I hope Mitteldudt doesn’t infect the rest of the team...
  14. This one is my go to around the house. Don’t mind Santa Bear in the back there. You don’t ***** with him...he don’t ***** with you.
  15. I did all the railroad bridge repairs at Joseph, Clinton and St. Paul a few years back. We were in the Brewhouse a lot. I thought I’d take the wife before a hockey game a couple weeks ago but there was an hour and a half wait. The food is good, the beers even better but not for that kind of wait. You could barely even get in to do tastings.
  16. If they start to give it away for free then you make sure you let me know! I always have a 30 pack of Genny Ice hanging around. Love me some Cream Ale too!
  17. I’m sure tickets will sell well for a few games. When Tage came down last year there were definitely more ***** in the seats for a while. I can almost guarantee that I see at least one Mittelstadt sweater on Friday night.
  18. The happy hour they’ve always done in the Upper Atrium? Didn’t realize they did those for a $1 now. They were $2 and if you did the math you’re only saving like $.50/24 oz. It wasn’t worth it to stand in that line and then try to get four of those cups back to your seat.
  19. At BCA? How the hell do you make that happen? I’m paying $9.25 for a tall boy Genny.
  20. Uhhhhhmmmmm. Didn’t he become a quadruple amputee after that speech? (fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to mentioning the last two years of failure which leads to a Jedi slap in the back of the head)(jk) At the very least BCA is gonna sell the hell out of some tickets for a game or two.
  21. Even though I wasn’t a Sabres fan by proximity I was a Bills fan growing up. It is sincerely nice to see a clinch win. It’s been a really ***** long time.
