  1. We considered you guys over in Ellenberg to be high society comparatively.?My great great grandfather crossed over the border and settled in Chateaugay. Both of my parents and one whole family of ancestory is buried in Burke. I hung out that way some as a youth. Mostly to pick up some people and cross the border and head to Huntingdon for beers and slaw dogs. Our Adirondack party spots were over in Skerry(south of North Bangor). Split Rock, the Hole in the Woods.(I once spent an entire month one summer living at the Hole in the Woods. Awesome experience!)..That’s Crazytown, USA over there....there are some seriously disturbed people lurking those parts. I knew one old dude that lived year around in an old school bus! You know cold the winters get up there!
  2. My parents house was in North Bangor(just outside of Malone). I was literally a five minute drive from Skerry and that Northern part of the Adirondack Park and ten minutes from the border. I had close family in Constable and spent a lot of time there. One of my first girlfriends was from Trout River. The next was from the Rez. The whole idea of an international border meant little more than crossing county lines to me growing up. What area are you from? North or South of the border?
  3. I had been searching for a reasonably priced wheel bearing assembly for my truck when I finally realized that the expensive Moog assembly had the exact same part number as the inexpensive Longgo assembly. I dig a little deeper and discovered that Longgo just supplies parts from established producers while Moog claims to have a few very reliable producers they’ve always done business with. What are the chances that two producers happen to have the exact part number for the same aftermarket part? Now what are the chances that two suppliers buy the same part and sell it for wildly different prices? $250 for the Moog assembly and $90 for the Longgo...exact same part number....
  4. I don’t want to be over generous to the kid. They were good defensive plays that he should be making. The better part of his game tonight was not trying to do too much and end up doing stupid *****. He’s actually a pretty big kid and can throw his body around if attempts it. Those goons in the A have a way of making you aware that style of play exists and can be effective. If he sticks to the little things and stops trying to be the hero I think he’ll be ok.
  5. I have a 2012 F150 4wd. The cooling fans have been running on high continuously for a month now. Engine temp is fine and there’s plenty of coolant. If I start the truck with the hvac turned off the fans behave as they should. As soon as I turn the hvac on the fans kick on high and stay that way until I kill the ignition. I thought maybe the a/c pressure switch was failing and reading the pressure too high and kicking the fans on so I replaced the switch which did nothing. Is it possible for the pressure in the high pressure line is too high in these temps? Seems like it shouldn’t be it but what else would kick the fan on high and leave it there only when the hvac is on? A bad relay? I really need to figure this out because it sounds like I’m driving around in a jetliner.
  6. Borgen definitely goes ape sh!t sometimes. After that hit on Fitzgerald he just close lined that mofo. Bam!. Then Dalton smashes his head in. Very bizarre calls too. 5 min major for interference and 10 min misconduct for continuing an altercation. Dalton with two for roughing and 10 min misconduct for continuing an altercation. Borgen got two for roughing and somehow there was 2 mins on the board for us and 5 mins on the board for them. Doesn’t add up.
  7. 199th, your up! Suprised you could get at it with all the extra curricular activity you’ve been boning up on in the absence of hockey.? Mitts looked good didn’t he? Stayed with the system and it paid off for him. Two nice defensive plays because he was in the right spot. The second one brought the puck down for a goal on the second attempt. If I see another game or two like this then I’ll start to have faith in him again.
  8. The first time I’ve ever seen a goalie score on himself. The taunting crew was relentless “hey Keith, you’ve got a sog!....against yourself!“
  9. I’ll use my wife and her sisters as an example. All educated women and would scoff at any NE article but all three of them thought back in 2015 when the election was close that Trump was a self made man, dragging himself up out of poverty because that story was all over FB. I nearly choked on my beer when I heard this. My fil and I were quick to educate them. I don’t do FB so I don’t know first hand what’s in there but that was sort of scary for me. I can get enough goofy ideas all by myself, I don’t need to be egged on by FB... Youre also spot on about the voting public being the only check on Trump at this point. The GOP is the now the Trump party. I know a lot of Republicans in my area that are abandoning those leaders still supporting Trump. That would be an encouraging sign if that were happening all over but I don’t think it is. I’m afraid that there is old, deep rooted hatred that will give them the votes they need to keep their office.
  10. Jim Kelly is at the BCA signing autographs tonight. Crazy long line.
  11. The MRI results confirm what I suspected. Rotator cuff tear in the left shoulder. I’m scheduled for surgery Mar 4 with a suspected 5 month recovery. I’m bummed out. I had just gone back to work after two months down recovering from an extremely painful fistulotomy. I’ll have been down close to ten months by the time I’m recovered from this. That means five months lost in the gym too. This really ***** sucks! Too many injuries in my career. Too much pain. I have to seriously reevaluate my goals.
  12. Fun fact...73+24=97....yet 97>73+24...
  13. My Boston born Pats loving BIL’s mother is Hawaiian born Japanese. It’s funny how we focus on all the traditional Japanese cuisine and then crack open the Spam....
  14. No I’m near Bristol Mtn now. I was born as raised up there. I’d suggest taking the 138 to Trout River. Beautiful drive and ridiculously easy reentry. If you cross that particular crossing then you’re in my hometown. If I were a tour guide I could blow minds by taking them to Montreal and then in little over an hour be in the Adirondack Park...very unique place.
  15. Je me souviens @Wyldnwoody44! I’m not sure of your route to QC but if you’re ending in Montreal then you’re doing that trip backwards from the way I used traveled it. You should really take that leg across the Mercier through the Québécois farmland down to Trout River/Constable...follow 138....those are my old stomping grounds...lots of pretty girls that didn’t shave...loved them all...It’s not a bad drive to Buffalo from there. Enjoy that beautiful place!
  16. The random thing that was never realized about my old moniker iTinSn is that it was really just tin, right? i=50...Tin....Sn? The really random part is that the moniker was originally inspired by the Tragically Hips’ “Cordelia”... “Tincanman draggin from a car, just to see how alive you really are...” We did a similar thing behind cars on dirt roads(or the main state highway) with old skis up North ....we called it skeetching. Then we went to the bonfire parties in the Northern patchy parts of the Adirondacks and watched these old crazy hippy-turned-hillbillies try to out extreme each other and walk/handle/bite burning embers from the fire.... between the Québécois(where I had family), the Akwesasne(where I had family), the redneck fur trappers(where I had family) and the hippies that ran from modernization(who I was almost family with)...I never knew what the hell I really was.
  17. NE was always a joke to everyone I knew and then Facebook came into being and all those same people lost their minds over silly ***** just like their parents did with the NE...
  18. I just crawled out of the 1982 AMC Spirit and snatched that bottle to head out to Split Rock and fool around with Monique before I have to get her back to her parents house in Trout River, Quebec...
  19. The Amerks have been aggressively attempting to convince me to renew my seats. “Free first and second round playoff tickets!..*signs of desperation*...” The ticket rep didn’t even know the layout of BCA but was positive they’d go deep this year....I really love watching hockey live but I can get a random ticket for a random night. It’s been a six year run on seasons but if these fools fall short I’m done. You can take your seat(which I’m pretty sure the seat two down from me was pissed on by the special needs middle aged adult sitting there last Friday judging by the overwhelming smell of piss) and sell it to some other dope. I need a ***** break.
  20. How does his line look with Mitts centering them tonight?
  21. It’s all behind the play where the camera isn’t looking.?
  22. He’s so smart on the ice though. His brain took him places that his body couldn’t. Mitts could learn a thing or two from a guy like Porter. Also, I think he got banged up a little on a play last night.
  23. The officiating is always bad. The linesman do a better job and it shows with return performances. The refs are bounced around or demoted or whatever happens to them. I rarely see a particular ref more than once or twice a season it seems. I’m sure it’s hard to find someone that can handle it and skate like an angel too. The number of calls weren’t necessarily the problem last night as much as what they decide the penalty was. Couple times the call on the ice was hooking when it clearly should have been interference. I would like to know what was said on the bench that got them the unsportsmanlike. I had the feeling the ref had red ass from the thundering boos raining down for the failure to call roughing both ways on that play with Dea. Which makes me want to comment on how many penalties he took last night. He also played on a line with Mitts. That line got all scrambled at times. It also seemed they reduced Mitts’ toi.
