  1. Fair warning: it takes a LOT of beer to make sausage.
  2. I've got a deer infestation problem and a lot of ammo.
  3. I have a second colonoscopy in 2 years coming up in two weeks because they didn't do a biopsy on the last one. Sadly. The fistulotomy scared all the doctors that weren't taking my issues as seriously as they should have, now they are scrambling for answers. Even doctors make mistakes I guess.
  4. My wife thought I was crazy years ago when I started but she's come around since.
  5. I can't stand running out of paper products and BJs always has coupons and deals so I always buy there. This time the deal was buy $100 in select P&G, Swiffer yada yada get a $25 gift card(and I had coupons for everything like always). The only way I could make the deal work was to double up on the giant mega rolls. This was March 2 before surgery and long before the rush. I felt badly as folks were eyeballing me up and down. I also had a giant pack of wipes but only because we had run out days ago(and I had a coupon) so I'm sure that contributed to the looks. OH well, my shenanigans basically got me a free mega roll of Bounty towels as well as the $15 in coupons and $.10 in gas for 30n gallons for another $3 in savings. You gwt the point I'm sure. Long story short, If you're not using Bounty then you're throwing $ right out the window....and I have a shitload of paper towels and tp.(I thought @shrader needed to hear another pointless rambling story?)
  6. I watched this PC yesterday....are you saying that they have changed their minds? I can't find saying they're taking walking back this confirmed case.. https://www.mpnnow.com/news/20200312/covid-19-hits-western-new-york-community-goes-on-alert
  7. Maybe they could use this downtime to fix the bathrooms so they had warm water so maybe more people would wash their hands?
  8. I have some stuff posted in an old virus thread that was locked but if you search N95 you will be able to see it. I’m not going through it all again but the bare minimum to protect yourself from airborne contaminates is with a N95 type respirator with your face properly shaved to maintain a proper seal. You’re seeing people on tv with PAPR and SAR(powered air purifying and supplied air respirators). Those create positive air pressure inside the mask so if the seal is breeched then contaminates aren’t getting in. That is the highest level of mask protection.
  9. She’s been pulling her hair out that they hadn’t released a statement yet let alone canceled anything. It makes it seem that she’s the heartless beast when in reality the promoter has been steadfast(and still is to my knowledge)that the show will go on and there will be no refunds.
  10. We should start something up...I guess we’d need two leagues...
  11. Local news was reporting last night that they hadn’t self quarantined and went about their regular lives for a few days after they’d returned. The news also reported that they claimed that they had to be persistent in their efforts to get tested as well. My wife was supposed to have the day off but the theatre is overwhelmed at the moment with phone calls/emails. The promoter isn’t going to refund and people are getting the pitch forks out. It really isn’t her fault either, the promoter calls the shots.....does this mean the AHL will follow their lead?
  12. You should see me on one of my baby eating binges....
  13. Just for informational purposes. https://www.wildedible.com/wild-food-guide/elderberry#edible
  14. She also makes syrup which I will drink in tea if I’m feeling ill. Still tastes like *****.
  15. A few are fine. Don’t go eating a handful. I personally don’t like them. Too bitter and they are about 50% seed. My wife makes pies for her Dad and I am a pie fanatic, but not that one. I’ll pass.
  16. My wife and I were just discussing this. I had no idea they were so popular. There’s a lot work to processing them, the stems have to be completely removed, but there are clumps of these things were I could harvest 50 lbs of them in a single trip.
  17. I will point out that if your going to eat elderberries you need to cook them first or they will make you sick.
  18. We ate elderberries because they were all over the place and her grandpa really liked them. We had no idea they had any health benefits at all until years later. I’m not trying to sell snake oil. Just pointing out that elderberries are a pretty common plant in WNY.
  19. They grow in the ditches like weeds here in Bloomfield. We have about 5 pounds of the little buggers in the freezer.
  20. Go freeze dried. Years ago in my bush whacking/hiking/survivalist experiments, I dehydrated a good many food items and reconstituted in the field for decent meals. I’ve even successfully dehydrated ground beef. As I’ve aged and became busier I switched to the freeze dried. I picked up a three day kit 10 yrs ago that I had hoped to never need. I figured that would be my grab-n-go kit in a last ditch effort....ten years later I think it may be more reasonable to just accept my fate, whatever that may be at the moment.
  21. In all honesty, until there is a vigorous regimen to test, those numbers will float all over the place. Numbers do tell stories though. At one point(yesterday I believe)South Korea was testing more people/day than we had tested in total. Just food for thought.
  22. I’ve been getting it. I get it. It ain’t about me.
  23. Rudy Gobert https://sports.yahoo.com/jazz-thunder-rudy-gobert-ruled-questionable-days-after-touching-mics-to-make-a-point-about-coronavirus-201553536.html Irony "At a press conference Monday, Gobert attempted to make a point about overreaction and fear by touching everything in sight before he left. He leaned over and touched all of the microphones and recorders."
  24. There's a good reason why he was an AHL all star. He did have a rough start after the hip surgery. He often looked disinterested at times out there but boy did he ever shut me up his remaining time in Rochester, well, except when I was cheering my balls off.
