  1. Unfortunately it didn’t end well. People drive waaaaay too fast on this little country road filled with deer. https://13wham.com/news/local/one-dead-after-rollover-crash-in-east-bloomfield
  2. I laugh that people buy Grubx for their lawn and then try to eradicate their skunks.
  3. I did not know that. Armed with that new knowledge I can say that we have two surfeits at Baileyshire. Some of my “rural” neighbors think they have to kill them for some reason. I can assure you that they are safe at Baileyshire (psst. Maybe they sense that and flock here). I’m not saying that some critters don’t die here, but they end up in someone’s belly. I don’t eat skunk (I may smoke it here-n-there though).
  4. Try this one. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/219286/jalapeno-lime-cheesecake/
  5. This is exactly what happened with Mrs. iT. I’m not sure why he walked into the pool though. I’ll be sure to tell her that I’m wrong about them not having the juice. I’ve been pretty close plenty of times and they seem pretty docile. I’ve always thought they were awesome little animals. If I’d had been down there it may have been adopted. That little dude is just too friggin cute.
  6. I don’t think the baby ones have the stinky stuff. All of my experiences with skunks have been positive, then again, I’m not trying to bite them like your dog was.
  7. Mrs. iT was picking berries down at the pool. She snapped this pic of this little fella after he strolled in the gate right up to her but just before he walked right past her and went head first into the pool. She fished him out with a net. Apparently baby skunks can’t swim very well. She thought he was dead after he struggled down into the driveway and collapsed. She texted me to ask what to do. “Don’t bring him home!” I figure he was water logged and tired. She tried to feed him some berries after a bit but he got himself up and into the bushes so I’m guessing he’s ok. There’s nothing quite like living in the country!
  8. Different variety? I spent an hour and a half picking wild raspberries this morning and there are definitely two different varieties of them here at Baileyshire. One has powdery looking berries, very bowl shaped. The other has rounder, darker, thimble like berries. They both end up in my belly. This morning they’re mixed in with my oatmeal. BTW, that a gallon sized container. I’ll easily fill that three times over before the season is done.(That’s container number two).
  9. Wouldn’t @JohnnyK’s scenario end up being the best of the worst getting the pick? Instead of competing for the Cup, you have the bottom teams competing for the top pick? Johnny, am I smelling what you’re cooking?
  10. I’m very interested in your results with the potatoes, in particular, at what point they flower. I was a little late with them last year and they flowered late. I had potatoes but they were small. It occurred to me that I should probably pinch the flowers if I wanted large taters. So far it seems like there’s a lot of them in each tire so I’m hoping they have some girth. (giggidy) As far as those elderberries go, I’ve seen some on private property but nothing on the public lands. I’m not very good at recognizing them until they flower. I thought the town had dug all of ours out of the ditch(I’m guessing they didn’t flower last year)but there are some left after all now that I seen them flowering. Not a lot but enough for a pie and few jars of syrup. I hope you’ve stumbled onto better results.
  11. My potatoes are popping right out of the ground! Adirondack Blue this year. I pruned the flowers this year so hopefully the taters are fat by fall. Finally, we let Little Bear into the vegetable garden so she can get whatever Mr. Snake misses.
  12. I didn’t get a pumpkin bigger than this guy last year so I’m somewhat encouraged.
  13. Zucchini and summer squash have gone bonkers. This is an everyday haul. Almost don’t want to eat the conjoined ones! These little beauties are just starting to open their eyes!
  14. And this guy was gorgeous! Those light spots shimmered in the sun. You can’t tell from this pick but he had a big old lump in his belly where it dips down between those two rocks. Not too far up the digestive tract so he’d eaten it recently.....Good Boy!
  15. Apparently chicks-n-hens occasionally flower. Who knew? They’ve been here for multiple years and this is the first time they’ve done this.
  16. You all should try fitting THAT nose in a regular mask!
  17. So far this is the only one. She whipped it up last night so I could try it at PT today. She’s been ordering all sorts of fabric. I got this one not because I’m Irish(she is) but because I was lucky to get one. Know what I mean? I’d really like a Fluer De Lit mask. To go along with those “prison yard stares.” Anyone know what I’m referencing? She will be encouraged to hear that people like the mask. I’m willing to wager that she goes straight to work on them when she sees all the feedback. Those masks will be as faithful as the wearer.
  18. I usually look like Neapolitan ice cream by the end of summer.
  19. Can’t you just hear them up there with those little hammers? *bing bing bing*
  20. Not yet. She thinks they look goofy and that I’m the only one that would want one. I’ll definitely encourage her. Oh and a wiseman once told me that it was a baaaaad idea to refer to your wife as an Ogre. That’s why she’s still Mrs. iT?.
  21. Peas, lettuce, spinach. Heck you have time for two more rounds of radishes. This is a 25 day radish. I’ll bet you’d also get a decent crop of beets. You’d at least have all those greens to eat.
  22. It seals tightly around your face and moves easily when you talk. It sits away from your mouth so it’s not as damp and doesn’t stick to your face. I have less than optimal breathing capacity and it really helps me breathe much better. Especially at PT when I’m on the arm bike.
  23. Mrs. iT started making replicas of the horizontally pleated mask I shared pics of a while back. Super comfortable. It’s not in production anymore so she’s whipping me up a few. The tinknocker’s apprentices have been making tens of thousands of the metal nose pieces for the masks so I’m picking her up a handful of them from the Hall to give them an even better seal. I don’t think there’s any more hibiscus fabric though.
