Mrs iT and I are on our yearly family beach vacation this week. Last night I drank 2beers, 4 screwdrivers, a bottle of champagne and 3/4 of a bottle of tequila. I was so chit faced that I fell over the fence crossing the dune. It ended up being a good spot to take a little break. The two moons rising over the water were fantastic. I'm sticking to beer tonight.

Sorry, man. I'm floating in and out of consciousness here.

Something tells me Murray had performance based criteria that a lot of the less talent rich teams were willing to give a bit on. Murrays no fool.

Watching this thread has been like watching a two headed goat give birth. You're pretty sure it will be normal but you can't look away just in case. I doubt Jimmy will ever be that two headed baby but maybe he will be good enough for folks to remember the excitement his coming generated. Maybe he won't be worth a bag of pucks in two years. Who knows. To me it was ever bit worth that lost pick.

As I have gone on in life if come to realize that the best place for someone who "you can't be rid of" is boss. He's in the spotlight and will either sink or swim. The ######## sink ever time. Edited to filter myself.

Almost too hot for beer tonight so I'm poolside with Cuervo Silver, Tom Collins and Tonic with lots of ice. I do believe it's a tequila bender tonight folks.

I'm actually a pud that knows just enough to git r done. Day in. Day out.

Medicare/Caid is bare minimum. Most folks I know that need it are in a bad lot in life. I really think it needs to be better. What role are most employers taking with providing healthcare for thier workers? I'm asking honestly as I'm a member of a labor union for all of my adult life and have no experience with being uninsured. Seems like a lot of my friends outside of my local over the years have had little to no employer intervention and have had dire circumstances in some cases.
-
I agree that employers should be playing a bigger role. If you profit from my labor shouldn't you have some moral incentive to ensure that I am well? While we're looking down this path, doesn't it seem right that we all care about each other's wellness? I don't mind paying taxes. I would gladly pay more. I should also have a say as to what happens with that money. We all should. I would like national healthcare because I have a notion that a healthier population would be a far more productive population which in turn lowers cost which fosters business which creates jobs and ohhh Lordy, I could go on and on about the pros to such a thing. Will it cure laziness and eliminate the moochers? Nothing in God's creation will ever eliminate those two ills. Will it create incentive in people to mooch? Absolutely not. I know you're not the sort of guy that wouldn't take just because it was there to take. I'm sure you're a lot like me and give extra just because there are so many that need. Which leads me this question. Is the American population dedicated enough to let charity handle the problem with the gap in health care alone?

What difference in hell does that make? Is there some glaring wisdom that those numbers hold that would enlighten? Something beyond the tired old tale of "pull yourself up by your own bootstrings" nonsense that doesn't depict the actual world we all live in?

This made me chuckle. I was always waiting for Luke to lose the double blade skates.

I always have a confused look on my face when I hear folks rant about those deleted emails. I assume they have some sort of selective memory but have also entertained the idea that maybe they heard the news about this while it was going on and simply didn't care because it was thier party of preference in the White House doing the deleting?

Lots of boring and ineffective methods out there. Then you have your good ones. Yep. I've been dangling 320' above the Genesee River for 7 weeks now. Two near miss incidents. An almost forest fire in Letchwoth Park. The fun and novelty of this project have worn off. I'm hoping I don't need to rely on my fall protection gear because these bozos have no rescue plan. D'oh! I drink excessively with zero guilt.

Uhhhhh yup. At the request of Mrs. iT. She didn't tell me what it did. I'm cheating a bit on the recipe. I'm using lemon lime soda in place of seltzer. It's good.
-
I'm in. I've got the limes and am over run with chocolate mint. Didn't realize how much it spreads when I planted. After I finish this beer need to run out for the tequila and soda water. I love tequila mojito. The one liquor I've always loved has a day! As for eats....I may end up too drunk to remember I should eat.

Soccer jersey, eh? Nice move.

Oh boy. To quote Beck...giddy up. When I was your age I knew a few cougars. They were all very wonderful ladies and knew how to treat a guy. If I were you I'd be hitting up ladies nights. Thursday was always a good one for some reason. Good luck, man.

Those folks you shine the light on here are the most heart breaking group for me. I know first hand the blight of poverty and the guy they're leaning their hopes on neither understands or cares about thier situations. Trump has a history of being anti worker. You're looking at minimum wage at best with Trump. It's unfortunate for the uneducated voters that the apprentice show was a poor example of how American apprenticeships really do teach and prepare ordinary people to earn a living wage. A dying middle class wage.

It's the story of humanity. They hate us. We hate you. Kanye hates TaTa. TaTa hates haters. It feels like humanity hasn't evolved far enough to handle the dangerous secrets that science holds. Those Dw/oB folks are on my "giving" list. They do work that should make humanity proud. Edit. Not sure of the spelling for TayTay..TaeTae...

I had this reoccurring dream about fifteen years ago about a sky full of small aircraft with ill intentions. Hundreds of them. Although I was not scared, I was very uneasy with the role they had to play. I think it's creepy that we as a species are capable of using a robot to kill. It seems like a good idea when they're killing "combatants" on the other side of the planet but opens eyes when it comes to our backyard. The thing I've never liked about drones is the possibility that they could be used by some screwball with an agenda.

Sooooo...is there enough loose skin left to blink? I like how the 4 and 7 blend together into a devil's horn.

Sabres backup goalie situation (Chad Johnson to Calgary)
Ogre replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
I still need be sold on Lehner. I don't like a goalie that can't control himself. Don't get me wrong I like him being aggressive but he takes it too far and let's it creep into his head. No one performs at their best in that state. -
I don't know that it necessarily needs to be a conservative vs liberal thing. I consider myself a liberal mind and also find abuse of flag etiquette and colorful nicknames for our country a bit offensive. I would never call anyone out personally for it as I feel we are all free to think what we will. My second generation American father volunteered for service in Vietnam. He was extremely proud of his nationality. A trait instilled in him by his father(who was proud to be in this country). He paid the price for it though with a nasty leg wound and what they now call PTSD. Us kids knew it by another name. His selfless service really struck a chord in me as a youngun. It honestly clicked in my head the sacrifices of previous generations. 200 hundred years of sacrifice. Again. If I am offended by any of this I keep it to myself and remain grateful to be who I am where I am. Plain old iT in the fantastic USA.
-
As a third generation American, I'd like to say thank God for our founding fathers and their part in our freedom. I have always felt that I was unbelievably fortunate to be born in the USA. For all the problems this country has it is the best damn one in the world. God bless all of us. God bless the USA.

I hated McSorley. I hate Lucic. You're on to something here. I would say this is a mistake by EDM but Milan has walked off clean when he was covered in dirt before so why not in Alberta with McJesus? The more I think on this the more the McSorley comparison seems right. Maybe we are not the only ones doubting the young ones durability?
