  1. He was one of my favorite personalities. They've had a lot of good program directors over the years. Their humor and knowledge get them attention by bigger markets. Isn't he married to Sloan Martin who's on WBEN? Brian Kozial is also a very good analyst.
  2. No, but in this case she worked at being good. She is better than Bill was at the detailed "wonky" work. Bill was better at the marketing.
  3. Insurers, including Aetna, have been pressuring the federal government to make changes to the risk programs meant to help insurers that cover high-cost patients. The program requires insurers with healthier-than-average customers to fund payments to peers with sicker-than-average enrollees. Aetna had to pay into the risk adjustment program in 2014 and 2015. Under the program, customers' health status is based on diagnoses of chronic costly conditions, such as diabetes and HIV. But insurers argue that enrollees' use of prescription drugs, particularly expensive specialty drugs, should be included in the formula. The Department of Health & Human Services is starting to make changes, including taking drug utilization into account. Last week, it said it will propose modifying the risk adjustment program to absorb some of the cost for claims above a certain threshold, funded by payments from all insurers. Obamacare's biggest problems lie in the risk mitigation efforts, said Timothy Jost, an emeritus professor at Washington and Lee University School of Law. In addition to the risk adjustment program, there were two other initiatives aimed at helping insurers cover high-cost patients. But both are ending this year. "I think the market will stabilize, and perhaps Aetna and United will come back," said Jost. "But the market really needs support for another few years until it does, and since the majority in Congress is rooting for [the Affordable Care Act] to fail, it seems unlikely that the support will be forthcoming." http://money.cnn.com/2016/08/15/news/economy/aetna-obamacare/index.html?iid=hp-toplead-dom
  4. You must have a higher standard than Trump supporters. As Trump said, "I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters." We've been nation building since the end of WWII. We nation built Germany and Japan after defeating them, and now they're two of our closest allies and have strong economies. Most of the time it's providing economic, educational, medical, and administrative assistance. Imagine the change if people in the Middle East, including Palestinians, had economic opportunities as an alternative to joining radical groups. The problem with Iraq was invading without a plan on what to do after Saddam was defeated, in part because of unrealistic expectations. And then not giving all the ethnic and religious groups participation in the new government and administration. Those people left out of the aftermath formed ISIL in Iraq. Democracy doesn't happen in a couple years, and it's messy at the start. People forget how hard it's been over two centuries for the U.S. to get to where we are today. I'm not saying we should always take military action, but to just dismiss the ideals of nation building is not in our best interest.
  5. Well you know, Hillary's emails contained every secret from our nuclear codes to the Colonel's secret recipe, so they must have seen the emails where the pro-Russian Ukrainian party was going to give millions to the CGI in return for Hillary ordering the U.S. to leave NATO. Manafort was just being a patriot by taking the money himself to prevent it from happening. I'm just sayin'. Regarding Milwaukee, I lived there in the '80's, and the police had a reputation back then of not being very friendly to the public. I once had a police car pull up to me and put it's lights on when I was walking because I crossed a street against the light, even though there was no traffic at the light. Cop referred to me as a "wise ass" when all I said was "Yes sir, is there a problem?". There were many incidents back then of police actions questioned by the public. This particular shooting may be "a good shoot", but the public reaction could be a release of pent up anger over relations over time. Regarding Trump's foreign policy speech today: "Donald Trump is expected on Monday to propose screening immigrants with an ideological questionnaire. According to The Associated Press, the Republican presidential nominee plans to present a proposal during an address in Youngstown, Ohio, to create an ideological admissions test that would question potential immigrants on positions such as religious freedom, gender equality and gay rights. The test, in addition to combing social media and interviewing friends and families, would be used to determine whether potential immigrants support American values." http://www.politico.com/story/2016/08/trump-immigrants-screening-questionnaire-227006 So what will the test be on religious freedom and gay rights? Will they have to support the policy that Mike Pence tried to enact in Indiana that would allow businesses to discriminate against gays based on religious beliefs? Will they have to support or oppose the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage? Does gender equality include support for equal pay legislation? Who decides what the questions are on the ideological admissions test?
  6. Probably because it's not comfortable laying still after you've been shot.
  7. Washington (CNN) - Donald Trump said Thursday that he meant exactly what he said when he called President Barack Obama the "founder of ISIS" and objected when a conservative radio show host tried to clarify the GOP nominee's position. Trump was asked by host Hugh Hewitt about the comments Trump made Wednesday night in Florida, and Hewitt said he understood Trump to mean "that he (Obama) created the vacuum, he lost the peace." Trump objected. "No, I meant he's the founder of ISIS," Trump said. "I do. He was the most valuable player. I give him the most valuable player award. I give her, too, by the way, Hillary Clinton.". Hewitt pushed back again, saying that Obama is "not sympathetic" to ISIS and "hates" and is "trying to kill them." "I don't care," Trump said, according to a show transcript. "He was the founder. His, the way he got out of Iraq was that that was the founding of ISIS, okay?". http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/11/politics/donald-trump-hugh-hewitt-obama-founder-isis/index.html
  8. He only released two summary pages from 2014, none of the detail pages that show the specifics. By comparison the Clintons released all of their tax returns going back to 1977. Imagine the outrage if the roles were reversed; "What are they hiding?". But we'll never see them now. For Trump to release nothing at this point and not be hounded daily by the media is unprecedented. But with all his daily miscues it's hard to keep up.
  9. Maybe when they're moving things to the new house they'll find their tax returns that they misplaced so we can really see what they earned and invested in.
  10. It would fit your pattern of posting stories that suggest she was involved in evil things like the death of the Democratic staffer.
  11. You and others have taken the cue from Trump, removed the filters of reasonable discourse of facts, and now repost or retweet any conspiracy theory with the names Clinton or Obama in them, no matter how outrageous they are.
  12. Some conspiracy theories are so asinine that they don't deserve a legitimate response. Trump has set a new level of acceptability for some.
  13. You couldn't let it go like you wanted us to, so once again I have to correct the record. What Comey and Clinton said were both true. Comey said she answered the questions truthfully, and in the end they did not find anything illegal. Clinton said she did not send or receive any emails that were classified at the time. Comey said she did have classified information. It was the retroactively classified emails. And three other emails were improperly labelled as classified. Then when she made the "short circuit" comment, it was in regards to not giving the full answer to Chris Wallace I have stated above, so it was misconstrued as her contradicting Comey, when in fact they're both correct in the details. But some like youself don't want to look past the general headlines because the detailed facts don't support your conspiracy theories. But you'll keep trying to deflect from Trump's controversies, and I'll keep correcting you. Unless you take your own advice and move on.
  14. I disagree with your latest "I'm just sayin'" conspiracy theories. Moving on... To be fair, there is a minimum expectation of an acceptance of scientific facts.
  15. I felt the same. I preferred the first two. The "bees" reminded me of the bad version of Galactus in the Fantastic Four movie. Watched Ex Machina and Deadpool over weekend. Both were OK, but Ex felt incomplete, I wanted to know what happened next after the end. Deadpool was a bit too goofy and didn't like breaking the 4th wall. I prefer my superhero movies more serious. I've been watching Daredevil and Jessica Jones on Netflix, and that's the type of "reality" superhero I prefer.
  16. Now you take what the Iranians say as facts instead of propaganda for internal consumption. You must have really been confused by Baghdad Bob. And how exactly does a rented mule get played? I've heard they get beaten, and fiddles get played, but playing a rented mule? If I buy a mule, are they played differently? What about leasing?

  18. I appreciate Jerry's candidness about the Buffalo teams mismanagement over the years. I miss his appearances on WGR. It was a mistake for the paper to take him off for their own webcasts.
  19. Part of the Make America Great Again campaign. Abe Lincoln is polling strong in Illinois, not so much in the South.
  20. This is reassuring: There will be no greater ally for a President Donald Trump in the United States Senate than ex-KKK Grand Wizard David Duke, the Republican Louisiana Senate candidate declared, remarking that the Republican nominee "is not a racist." “I don’t know if he’s with me or not, but I would hope that he and others would realize the same lies they make about him is what they say about me," Duke said. "I’ve always said that I’m equal rights for all people, but I also believe that European Americans shouldn’t be facing discrimination either, and I’m sick and tired of this very vicious anti-white narrative in our national media, in our movies.” Republicans who have spoken out against Trump, Duke added, are "betraying the principles of the Republican Party and certainly conservatism." "These are just nothing more than epithets and vicious attacks. Donald Trump is not a racist. And the truth is, in this country, if you simply defend the heritage of European American people, then you're automatically a racist," Duke said. "There's massive racial discrimination against European Americans, and that's the reality." Inskeep responded, "You know that white people in this country still have the overwhelming preponderance of wealth and power, right?" "Well they don't really have the overwhelming—European American history—no, they don't. I mean, Hollywood is not controlled by traditional European American heritage." Asked whether he was referring to Jews, Duke remarked, "Or they're from the Middle East, that's not European. That's not European. That's Middle Eastern and they have a particular orientation for their positions and their programs." Regardless of Trump's public statements about Duke, the Senate candidate expressed confidence that he would have the support of the GOP nominee's backers in Louisiana. “We’ve done the analysis of what’s going on in Louisiana. We’ve already polled inside the Trump voters, and we know we’re gonna carry 75 to 80 percent of those who are going to vote for Trump,” Duke said. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/08/david-duke-trump-226710
