  1. Thank you for that, but other than possibly affecting my 401k and getting nuked, as an older straight white male it won't personally affect me much. As has been said, I feel bad for all the "others" who will be affected, and what it says about how so many Americans think.
  2. The 2020 election will be starting in a couple of months. A possible contender? Who else do people think would be a possible Democrat nominee. Bernie will be too old.
  3. True, but it is a fact that more voters chose her over Trump. So he can never factually claim a mandate. The only winners are the states where you can legally numb your senses for the next four years. I do hope Trump voters will hold him to account on his promises or else it would be hypocritical to complain about career politicians. Some things he promised in the first 100 days. One year from now there should be 4% economic growth. Illegal aliens - out! Start building the wall and send Mexico the bill. Syrian refugees - banned. A better plan to defeat ISIS. NATO paying their "fair share". Obamacare replaced with a better program. Abortion and gay marriage illegal. Stop and Frisk supported. Taxes cut while increasing defense and infrastructure spending. Clean coal and backing out of climate change agreement. Hillary locked up. The ability to sue the lying media. All proposals and positions he took.
  4. If voters wanted change, why did they reelect most of the incumbents to Congress.
  5. Andrew Jackson, Samuel Tilden, Grover Cleveland, and Al Gore. The two most recent Republican presidents did not get the most votes.
  6. As of 9:05 a.m. ET, Clinton had amassed 59,204,408 votes nationally, to Trump's 59,058,307 — a margin of 146,101 that puts Clinton on track to become the fifth U.S. presidential candidate to win the popular vote but lose the election.
  7. And yet both Bill and Hillary received more votes than their opponents. Trump didn't.
  8. He got more than any other candidate. Trump didn't. Bill got 43% of the popular vote against Bush's 37.5% percent and Perot's 18.9%.
  9. The American people have spoken, but once again the candidate with the most votes was defeated by the Electoral College. So like W, we have a president that did not get selected by the majority of voters.
  10. When Pence was speaking someone in the crowd yelled "assassinate the bitch" about Hillary. This is our future.
  11. Yeah, but come January that all ends. The country chose a msygonist bully over an educated and experienced woman. What a sorry lesson for young women and girls.
  12. Clinton called Trump and conceded, so it's a done deal.
  13. In the Bush-Kerry election, it wasn't called until the next day. So neither candidate came out to speak that night, and they sent their supporters home. For Trump to come out and claim victory before it's official is presumptive if not arrogant. But that's how he is.
  14. She offered many policy proposals that differed with his general statements, but the media and public were more interested in being entertained by the slur campaign. A sad reflection on our society.
  15. There's just no equivilency between the situations. One good outcome might be that Rush and Hannity won't have anything to complain about.
  16. How does Barack and Michelle sit at the inauguration surrounded by people that hate them and questioned his legitimacy? What do parents say to their daughters about what Americans think is acceptable behavior? What are minorities and undocumented people thinking?
  17. Dow Jones Futures now down almost 800. NBC reported the Canadian Immigration website crashed. No joke.
  18. I could have reluctantly accepted most of the other Republican primary candidates, but Trump really scares me regarding what will happen to our foreign policy. The Iran nuclear deal gets scrapped. China secures it's position in the South Asia Pacific. Russia pushes further into Eastern Europe.
  19. I haven't felt this depressed since No Goal.
  20. They were the bums in Congress obstructing. Newt Gingrich as Sec of State. Rudi Guiliani as Attorney General.
  21. Gary Johnson's vote total in Florida is greater than the difference between Trump and Clinton. Another Nader moment.
  22. Start praying for Ruth Ginsberg's health, and the 20 million people who will be losing their healthcare.
  23. It killed the momentum she had for over a week. It could be the difference for how some moderate Republicans voted.
