They should inquire with Chicago about Jonathan Toews. He has 1 year left at $10.5 million, which would give Chicago cap relief, get the Sabres closer to the cap minimum, and provide a good face off man and experience who could take Eakins place.

Coach on UPL: “He’s likely out for the short-term,” Appert said. “I’d be surprised if he’s available for the play-in series, and even the next round is a question mark.”
-
Laval up 4-1 with 4 min left in 2nd. Game is on tv in Syracuse.
-
If UPL is out they’ll have to depend on Dell. Houser will likely come from Cincy, who could clinch their 1st round series tonight. A shame his injury could affect both team’s chances.

Thanks, it was my rookie hockey year, but I do have over 20 years of fantasy football experience. It’s a bit different in that you have to tweek your roster each week depending on which teams have more games. And my son thought you had the best team name.
-
I’d rather they played Belleville. Laval has a better roster.
-
Looks like Utica would rather travel to Rochester than Canada for the playoffs. Now it will depend on Belleville to decide if they’d rather play Toronto or Rochester. Sounds like UPL hurt his hamstring as he grabbed the back of his leg. Fitzgerald had 3 assists and was a +3. Imagine if he, Samuelsson, and Krebs were with them the past two weeks. Making the playoffs would have likely already been a done deal.

Thanks but I need 2XL to wear in games. I thought there was a guy who made them.
-
You know where I can get that jersey?
-
On Instigators they said there’s an app called Mixhalo that lets you listen to RJ’s play-by-play in the arena.
-
Now they send Fitz to Rochester when he was needed two weeks ago. 🙄 Houser just had a 42 save playoff shutout last night.
-
UPL did well with the Sabres and a better defense before his injury. But they need a reliable NHL goalie under 30 just in case he’s not ready to be a full time starter.
-
I’m not saying it’s an issue, it’s an asset where they can afford a larger salary or help another team with their cap by taking on another player along with a goalie. And a 40 year old injury prone Anderson is not a reliable option for backup. You get a goalie to pair with UPL, and let them split games until one becomes the clear starter.
-
No, they need to use their cap space and draft picks to trade for a proven younger NHL goalie who’s been in the league a couple of years and ready to be a starter, like Georgiev from Rangers.
-
I DVR Sabres games anyway so I can fast forward through commercials and stoppages, so I’ll also DVR the draft, and then go back and forth an hour after to have continuous action.
-
That’s a simplistic view. I’m talking about over the past two weeks when they lost close games. The defensemen would have solidified the defense as a top pair, both preventing the opposition from scoring, and creating more scoring chances with puck possession. Krebs would have provided a quality forward who could drive his line. The impact would flow throughout the lineup. A missed opportunity.

Three losses for the Amerks this weekend, two against the only team below them, have pretty much killed their playoff chances. Meanwhile the Sabres kept the players that could have helped them the past two weeks. Poor management by KA results in another missed opportunity that was there for the taking.

Even more amazing is that they still have to pay Cody Hodgson and Christian Ehrhoff almost $800k each next season. -
Played for Iowa in ECHL this season.

1) Team MVP - Tage 2) Rookie of the Year - Samuelsson 3) Comeback Player of the Year - Okposo 4) Unsung Hero (player who doesn’t get enough credit) - Jokiharju 5) Top Forward - Tage 6) Team Norris - Dahlin 7) Team Vezina - Anderson 8.) Most improved player - Tage

A number of Tampa players including Vasilevskiy got playoff experience in Syracuse.
-
And the needs of the Sabres are to get their developing young players some playoff experience, which hasn’t happened at the NHL level for over a decade.

“Thanks dudacek for coming to work at the corporate office while we had so many people out. But your branch office and friends are suffering and it might close soon without your help. Since our staff is back to full strength, we would really appreciate it if you could help them out, knowing that we fully intend to move you up to the corporate office next year.”

The Sabres have one call up move left. It doesn’t affect players being sent down who do not yet have to clear waivers, so that is not an issue. And if my team was struggling I’d appreciate some reinforcements being sent to get over the hump, which they haven’t been able to do on their own. And the argument that they’d be upset is ridiculous. They were originally brought up due to injuries. Those players are back and available to play. They knew the plan was to send them back for the playoffs. The Amerks are in a de facto playoff run now. Win or they’re out.
