This is factually incorrect. The comprehensive bill proposed but not brought to a vote has no amnesty. It has a path to citizenship. If they don't have a criminal record, pay back taxes and a fine, they are put at the back of the line for citizenship, but are allowed to stay as legally documented non-citizens. Quite different than the Reagan amnesty.

It's Obama and the Democrats who want to change the status quo by passing comprehensive immigration reform. But Boehner won't allow it to come to a vote in the House because he's afraid of the conservatives, even though there's enough Republicans who would join Democrats that the bill would pass. Instead of dealing with the root cause, the conservatives push for piecemeal voter ID laws which adversely affect American citizens.

Please provide the proof since you made the allegation. Not just assumptions, but actual proof. What elections have been manipulated by illegals? The black vote is at the heart of this effort for voter IDs. Imagine some official in a southern state saying the black person doesn't look like the picture on the ID. Similar tactics to deny blacks the vote were done in the past during Jim Crow, which is why the black community is so upset that it will repeat.
