  1. Maybe not worse, but not a permanent hire for Karmanos or any of the current guys. If you named him your permanent GM, you miss an opportunity for a full housecleaning, an opportunity to bring a fresh set of eyes in from outside the organization and have HIM pick the guys he takes advice from. This team needs changes. Maybe a lof of them. Adams, or Karmanos, or anyone in the room now, do you want ANY Of those guys making big moves?
  2. Montreal needs one more. 6-1 loss is bad, but something about the number "7" as far as goals allowed just sounds SOOO much more embarassing than allowing 6.
  3. On the PP, Cozens was set up in front of the net, he was being checked but his stick was down. The Sabres player with the puck at the side of the net just a few feet away from Cozens, why did he not try to deflect it in off of Cozens. Even if it didn't work there might be a rebound and Cozens was right there. I don't know if it was Benson or Quinn (couldn't tell) but I'm watching it thinking..his stick is ON THE ICE, you are 5-6 feet away and its a 5 on 3, why are you not trying it??
  4. The team is playing considerably worse than they were 2 weeks ago, a month ago, for most of the previous part of the season. Just how much of it can be Dahlin not playing? If that isn't it, it has to be SOMETHING.
  5. My view is that when we see the videos of the 'war rooms' on draft day or trade deadline day, decisions in this organiation are made by the collective, not individually. Adams says that. Pegula says that. That doesn't change unless Pegula wants it to or allows it to, in my opinion. Again, I'm not saying Adams is good...just what else is behind him may not be that much better. If Adams goes, they all should go.
  6. 2 years ago a lot of people on this forum were sky-high on Power, I thought it was a premature opinion, I thought he didn't play all that well his rookie year. Last year people started turning negative on him, but I thought his play actually got better last year and I was encouraged. This year..I have NO IDEA. I don't know if he is good. Or bad. Or bad but has the potential to be good. Or going through a rough spot. Or looks worse than he is because he is covering up others mistakes. Or he isn't trying that hard because he doesn't want to be here. With Power, I have NO idea anymore.
  7. There are so many things that are popping in my head to post, ever 60 seconds it seems, but half the time I start typing and think to myself "forget it, its just not worth it".
  8. I will NOT argue with you on that. So I guess that is something. Ultimately the fans are the customer.
  9. My usual disclaimer: Firing him does nothing unless the entire hockey department goes with him AND Pegula takes a step back. The worst thing would be if Adams if fired, and a promotion happens from within and you still have the same group of people making decisions for this franchise, with just a new name on the GM door and a different face/voice saying the same thing in front of the microphone.
  10. The last 2 days the Sabres have been a pretty big talking point on 590 out of Toronto. A tad of making fun of the team, but really all the guys I heard are just flabbergasted, stunned at what is going on with the Sabres and none of them even have a clue how to fix things. (and commentators and 'insiders' ALWAYS have a solution of how to fix things, so that is saying something.)
  11. Power needs to have this team find him a permanent Defensive partner who is 27-30 years old, who will hit, and who still is a GOOD quality top-4 level guy. Power doesn't go on the ice unless that guy is his D-partner.
  12. Any fan that chooses to NOT sell their tickets to a Leafs fan and shows up in a Sabres jersey and cheers the Sabres on.....anyone who does that should be entered into a drawing for free season tickets and an award for fan of the decade.
  13. Can there be much more awkward than word getting out of Pegula flying to Montreal, giving the team an "atta-boy, keep things up, we won't make any changes, you can do it!"....to be followed up one night later by this?
  14. This Montreal team it IS the same team that was at the bottom of the conference right? Allowed 13 goals in the last 2 games? Had Pitt put up 9 against them? That has allowed 5 or more goals TEN times this year?
  15. I personally like Columbus. No expectations, no where to go but up (where the Sabres SHOULD be) I can view/be part of a rebuild but have it done by someone else, not this team. Plus I was at their Arena 2 times and I love the Arena and the district around it. Its not the nicest, but something about it just 'felt comfortable'. I think I may be the ONLY one who is rooting for Columbus though outside of Ohio.
  16. There is one thing this team is great at...give us topics to talk about on this forum.
  17. This game, its exactly what Pegula deserves after yesterday.
  18. I am a person that does not think this is on Lindy. But, for the sake of argument, lets say he is let go. Who would actually WANT to take the job coaching this team? Take the job coaching the Sabres under Pegula and it sets your career back years.
  19. I wonder if Pegula stayind or Montreal to watch the game? Or if he just flew in, said a few words, and hopped on his jet to fly out right after.
  20. At least one fan base of a bad team is having fun at a home game.
  21. Get UPL out of there. The whole team is bad in front of him, but he's not exactly having the best game either. Not that it matters at this point
  22. I like UPL. He played great at the end of last year. A lot of these goals aren't all on him, but on the team in front of him. I expect a goalie to not be perfect. But, with all that said...he's having move average-to-bad games than he has good games.
  23. Tuch was WAY out of position on that goal. Laine was on his side of the ice, he was no-where near where he needed to be. On the PK, you do not have to chase the puck. Just play your position, let the other team pass it around the perimeter until they get frustrated and take a bad shot. That is how it works against the Sabres.
  24. Dylan Cozens does go to the net. He's getting a good number of his shots from the slot overall this year. He's just not good. Most of his supporters are just holding onto one season where he shot better than he has in any other part of his career. Now the rest of the team...Quinn...yeah, go to the net more.
  25. Like with many things...for 1/2 the people its likely the first...1/2 the people the 2nd, and the final half of the people its 1/2 and 1/2.
