Last October I posted about how it was clear Donny is not an NHL coach and wouldn’t be the one to finish us off. I said how he would be good to get some confidence and momentum, but he’s nothing behind the bench. I was greeted with laughing emojis. Donny is a problem. Donny’s staff is a problem. KA is a problem. Our veteran support is a problem. Our ownership is a problem. Our personnel is a problem. Our culture is a problem. How to fix it? Fire Don and his staff. Promote an interim. Hire a hockey professional. Have them fire KA and evaluate the entire front office. Sit Okposo. Make a franchise decision on GM and executives without Terry’s opinion. Hire Gallant and hope you can convince him to add an up and coming hire to his staff. Trade this years first round pick for literally ***** anything because we are bad everywhere and it does us nothing. Finish 7-8 next season with accountability and make playoffs. Lose first round. Continue to add bet pieces. Make another run. Lose again. Fire Gallant. Promote assistant. Make another run. In other words, BE A REAL ***** FRANCHISE.

the fact the there’s people on this board who like KO has at times disgusted me. He’s been nothing but a loser here and has contributed absolutely nothing to this organization. He’s the first one making excuses now and was the last one contributing before his injury. Terry doesn’t care.

Terry is a bad owner because hes shown himself completely inept. We can rehash the entirety of his ownership, but this has been obvious since he replaced GMTM with JBOT. He invested years into a GMTM rebuild and then switched to a GM with a completely different strategy. Given two more years GMTMs team is in the playoffs. Switching to JBOT screamed it’s going to be at least two more years to the playoffs. Everything since the JBOT hire has simply been sprinkles and cherries. Terry showed he was inept years ago.

This is what I don’t understand. I know you played a lot of hockey. These are all obviously hockey player. Why do they refuse to play like a hockey team? They must know what’s not working. They must know they aren’t as strong. The only logical answer to me is they are scared. That’s not a knock, I’ve been scared plenty of times playing hockey. But you either play through it and go to the tough spots or you refuse to adapt. Our players have refused to adapt for years. It’s unhockeylike. One of the few things that makes sense is fear. They play like a team that knows they’re outsized and weaker every night. They don’t want to finish checks because someone else might finish a check on them. Losing is more acceptable than winning through punishment.

We’ve been asking teenagers to save us for a decade. This shouldn’t be a surprise.

Over the last 13 years I’ve had to take one or two seasons away from watching games. I love hockey. I love the Sabres. I don’t really feel anything watching either good or bad. I used to feel every game, now I just watch. I’ve got a 9 month old son that I would love to share hockey with which is why I’m doing my best to care even a bit, but why would I want him to be a fan of this team?
