Sabres Sign Jason Zucker to a One Year 5 Million AAV Deal
#freejame replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Okposo underperformed before his injury. -
She’s the second woman to be a full-time assistant coach in the NHL and the first first-time on-ice assistance coach. Last season someone hired a woman as a video coach, which almost made the news with similar headlines. Women have been all over NHL rinks for years as skating coaches, both as power and agility/edgework. The coach hired by Seattle has a background in powerskating and has worked with multiple NHL teams. I believe Buffalo had a female skating instructor work sessions in the past.

Not really. KA was going to be trading Mitts one way or the other. I don’t think he had any sort of target in mind other than BPA. I thought Byram was a great prospect and I think he has a ton of potential, but he didn’t fill a position of need. I’m not sure I really expected an outside 3C to be brought in after the trade anyway.

I thought this has been known for a few years and it was because we prioritize weekend games over weeknight games, which condenses the schedule. I could be making this up entirely though.

This is a good move. Levi needs to be in Rochester. Hopefully we can get .900+ out of our backup.

Oh man now I’m confused because I like to both bold and snip. -
He’s had injury and off-ice issues but his production has been solid since leaving here.

Quality NHL players don’t sign for the veterans minimum. Jost and Robinson just signed with good teams too. Are they quality NHL players? This is a guy that the organization has been saying is indispensable for years. They just paid him over two million dollars last year for nothing! Hang your hat on it, just like when I was proven wrong when Larry signed with Arizona. Oh, wait.
-
If you’ve given the Sabres money anytime in the last decade you’ve been doing it wrong.
-
I’m genuinely surprised by this. Sorry for the slander, Z, but I’m still happy you’re gone.
-
I’ve got a taker but I’ll take two. Yes, purely goals.
-
Goals is what I was thinking.
-
Great, now there’s no losers! @Thorny please use your perfect memory to save this for posterity.
-
He’s going to excel there. $50 charity bet Jeff Skinner outscores our leading scorer.
-
Utah has a great owner and front office.

That’s his game. You love him on your team, but he’s annoying as ***** to play against. I don’t know many Sabres fans who liked him before he came here.
-
I think they’re all big boys and won’t be broken. I think you’re absolutely right Adams and Ruff probably talked to them about it as well. There’s probably a tinge of disappointment in there air though, just like here.

I agree with this and I know everyone’s spent their time on both the optimistic and pessimistic side of the coin over the last 13 years. Simply as a whole, the people who are on the pessimistic side have been right. Lots of people who are angry now were loving the winning streak of the Eichel team, while the negatives said it wasn’t sustainable. We’ve all been wrong. It just happens that we’re wrong when we’re positive.

I don’t think of it from a club getting disrupted. I think that as hockey players, they understand who Skinner is as a player, and because of that (or in spite of that), they like him a lot on a personal level. I know everyone’s experience in sports is different, but I know from my own experience if there’s a player who the team doesn’t like on the ice or field, they don’t like him off of it either. I imagine one of the first thoughts all of the roster had was “if we’re losing Jeff, we must have something big brewing.” And I’m sure one of their first thoughts after today was “I can’t believe we lost Skinner without bringing anyone in for him.” It’s not about the club. I bet the players think Skinner makes the team better. It sends a bad message to those guys. They know the bottom 6 is improved, but they lost their boy to save a couple bucks.

I, too, like Krebs. There’s more of us than you would think!
-
Joke organization. Look at all his suitors lining up! He’s not a quality NHL player. Hasn’t been in this decade.
-
I can’t believe this organization thinks trading one of the most well liked goal scorers off of a young team and then not replace his production sends a good message through the organization. Seriously. Imagine how ***** dejecting it would be to lose not only one of your team’s top goalscorers, but also one of the guys you really like on the team. I bet when guys on the rosters saw the buyout they got excited because no way would they get rid of Jeff without replacing him. I can promise you every single Sabres player understands Skinners flaws. I would also bet dollars to donuts they’d rather have him than nothing.

I’m always fascinated by the pushback some posters get around here for being disappointed or for not being sold on the team/front office/media. The angry people have been right for a decade plus now.
